  1. I bet that was the problem - I was like 3000 ft yolo attacks all nite.
  2. I did them all, just like the Ka-50. But after ending them I felt like needing to repeat the first few again, lol. There was something with the bombs consent mode and then CCIP and CCRP all looked alike. The whole weekend I bombed in CCRP. Didn't get a laser bomb on target once (and yes the laser fired - at least the indicator was blinking). I like the adjustable seat and the general view, too. There is no course autopilot, but who needs that if you got a colourful map. I mostly use the ABRIS map for navigation with the Ka-50, too.
  3. Well, I did it. Nobody lied in here - I never crashed once while trying to land (just gently bumped into the perimeter fence on the first try). Super nice turn speed, too. The AP is workable - it just took my half a day to find out which button to press. I just couldn't really figure out about Uncle Teamus and Deamus and their lot. Horrible ordnance delivery all week end long. I did best with the cluster bombs, lol
  4. Awesome to hear the trim is realistic - it seems such an elegant design. I took the Heli to free flight and try some loopings and combat turns. In the two weeks flying it, I probably crashed only once or twice by doing something stupid (was shot down way more often) - I still have trouble controlling it at low speeds (and in wind) but it's generally a greatoverall design. The only thing I hate is the HUD speed indicator vanishing when I go combat mode (I think it's weapons selection and the Skhval that makes it disappear).
  5. I watched some vids, too and it sure looks like fun. I guess there goes my money, then.
  6. Ugh, I think I'd hate it to trade in a rocking platform for joystick and monitor - do they at least have some force feedback when piloting a drone?
  7. I bet it's just envy talk and they secretly wish for it while they try holding their helo stable playing hide and seek.
  8. To be precise: I mean the "UI" - like just pressing the trim button to have effectively attitude and heading programmed on the go. No need to press several buttons. The same button disengages the setting and gives you full control. I am no pilot but I imagine this kind of design offers a good feedback to the user. Is that a real thing or just a simulation simplification?
  9. Helo dogfighting? Against AA rockets and radar equipment?
  10. Nice - I could make the stock SU25T work quite well, but there is just the Skhval for targetting, a Nav without colourful maps and I always crash the plane when I try to land. I do all the navigation and targetting with my bare eyes (except when I do SEAD).
  11. I was amazed how "easy" the Ka50 handles in flight. The trim works quite well - is that realistic? Is that system used in helicopters usually? Or is it a Kamov specific thing? I still have problems controlling the helo at low speeds but I can count crashes that were due to poor control on one hand.
  12. I'm enjoying the Ka50 heli very much if that's any indication. I don't like constantly fiddling trim buttons, so how good do the autopilots take away workload? Why I want to look at the A10? I'm looking for more sophisticated fiddling around with maps and crazy ordnance while I fly. And I want something good for night missions.
  13. What does "Plug me in you scrubby groundhog peasants!" mean in Russian? I need to shout that even before I climb into the cockpit, then.
  14. It depends heavily from your surroundings and the barometric altitude. ASL you can do well with 150-200km/h and expect a responding collective input. If you're a bad multitasker watching stuff simultaneously go and fly the chopper with different engine loads. Pay attention to the sound your engine and the rotor blades do and you'll have a cue about possible critical climbing rates.
  15. The interactive guides (training missions) worked outstandingly well for me. SU25t is quite simple and the Ka-50 (module) interactives were crucial in understanding the different systems and how to use them so you can fly, navigate and find stuff to kill.
  16. There may be a way using Mist scripts - I haven't looked much into it, but I saw something about frequencies in the manual. For some reason the task to change frequencies doesn't show up for ships in the mission editor WP options (though I've tried it with a mixed ship group - may try with a single carrier?). Apart from that - I've tried spawning on a frigate - I've bumped into the ship hull and then my chopper jumped ship, lol.
  17. I guess it can be tiresome to answer basic questions, but more players are always a good thing, no?
  18. Sometimes my HUD isn't complete and the ground speed is missing. Also my weapons and targetting and countermeasures. It always happened when I tried out MP - I suspect it's a flaw in my startup sequence. Can it be that some systems need alternating current power for proper startup? I used external power as a first step in my latest try and everything seemed to start up fine.
  19. I never heard about the doppler - which switch is that?
  20. However, exiting and restarting the game seemed to make it work. And I turned on radio assist in the options - whatever that does...
  21. Same here, can't make the radio communications work.
