Stuff bought for DCS1 does carry over to DCS2, no?
-
No, it's not - I confused FM and UHF - I've always thought they were just synonymes for the same thing.

I've been dreaming of co-op manning ships, starships, tanks and planes for years. It'd be very useful to split the workload in a ground attack plane in two. Actually one of my very first flight sims had this - one controlled the flight stick - the other one could slew the targetting reticle around. It was on the ZX Spectrum, though...
-
Is the sweep mode supposed to find targets? I've never seen it lock onto anything.
-
I thought it was broken atm?

How is freedom? It's beginning to tick me off to fight in a confined space against OP bosses already.
-
I do, but it's Part II not the new thing. I might actually play through it - it's a lot better than Part I, but I hate the QTEs. Does the new part have QTEs?

Mic Switch in the HOTAS section.

Erm, if I access the Inv/Stores and change settings there and load the station again - can it be that a profile I created before resets, too? Because my CBU 87 wouldn't release when I tried to drop it in CCRP. It did look like a CCRP HUD, though. And nerf the MiG29!

Is this for when they seem to malfunction?

What is "missile reject" (China Aft s) ... and how is it different from break lock (TMS Aft s)?

How to make Wingman take off simultaneously?
Catastrophy replied to oscar19681's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I often see the AI trying to land in pairs. I can't figure out how to prevent that, because they usually abort and sometimes even crash. -
I thought air operations were serious business...

Aw man! I still had hopes for "Bogey Dope"!!! -

My daily lesson of learn has come! Now I even understand what the "009 for 20 at 13000" terminology means. It's basically easy, but I suck balls when faced with a wall of numbers. It's like a foreign language. And while I try to figure out what they mean, I usually forget what the first part of them numbers was. Especially when I keep imagining magic bras. -
... but they keep chatting about "Magic Bras" in my earpiece. I have no idea what they are talking about. Some are supposedly hot - some seem to be cold. There's pop-up groups all about. Do I need to improve my pimp skills or is there a reasonable explanation for it all?

Yay, more BLU-108 without regrets! -
Why no TGP Diamond or Reticule in A2A Mode.
Catastrophy replied to bunraku's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yea, I had trouble with that, too. I believe the tutorial is not correct or clear about the terminology. I've used one of the checklists here available for download, can't remember the author, but he compiled a set of checklists for startup, weapon employment etc. which is a great read and help. The rare occasions I use AIMs and it's always to do with making a HUD-reticle get close to an air threat. No TGP usage at all, which makes sense to me, considering the nature of manouevering a lot. The AIM missiles have a seeker you can uncage to relieve your workload additionally. This seeker is displayed as a reticle on the HUD. It can be slewed and set to auto-seek. There is also audible feedback on the lock status, which I really appreciate. -
I usually look at target, press enter to lock and usually there will be a indicator on the screen after a few secs giving you a firing solution for leading your fire.

How to fly against a defense rich envinroment?
Catastrophy replied to Stratos's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
6 km is a pretty safe distance from threats. -
Night attack: So I noticed the Skhval doesn't lock on, but you still can lase the target continouusly, fire a Vikhr and hit. It required some stick acrobatics from me though. Throttle: I think I got the power systems now. Even on auto throttle the systems on AC don't always start right away unless I put on some collective. What about using the step above auto throttle? Is there anything bad about it (fuel burn, maybe?)

EAC is active?

It was checked - I never noticed it, lol.

I've got my fair share of being shot down brutally in my beautiful Ka-50. Seriously: Who would fire at such a beautiful heli??? My most notable one was in a campaign. SU25 overhead, but I didn't heed them much until my wingman got shot down by them. I sped back to our air defense cover but I had one on my tail. I neared our line and levelled my flight. Suddenly the camera jumped to external view. My controls were locked. WTF? The helo was hovering above our tanks - nothing worked. Then I spotted the damage, I had been hit by cannon fire. It must have killed the pilot. Fun thing was that the helo was still hovering. It was drifting very slowly towards enemy lines, with a dead pilot in the seat.

Can't say much, but since I've been a little boy I wanted to fly a coaxial rotor heli. And when I bought it, I found out that pretty much of the stuff is modeled. Especially the navigation system (ABRIS) which is in essence a sim within the sim. Same goes for the A10C - there is even more systems simulated. If you want to learn about navigation, you can totally do so. These sims are worth their money for the sheer amount of learn you can have (if you want).

I didn't have too much trouble with them. In missions I don't really go for precision and accept altitude changes when turning. Especially when I cannot see the horizon properly. I take a bit more care when I hog the ground during attacks, though. First thing to tweak might be dead zone settings or curvature. I found that really helpful for the Ka50. First thing I did for the A10C was tweaking the rudder deadzone.
