I was on the SoW server this evening after it was rolled back to release and I noticed but accident that the engine will start with the mags set to off. This was purely by accident as l had engaged the starter before switching the mags to both.. In addition, in the latest open beta (on another server) and the release version I flew in this evening, thw R/H mag always drops considerably and there is nothing that clears it. Once the engine is running and the mags are switched to on, switching them off, even if flight doesnt kill the engine. Apologies if this has been reported already! Situation of WWII multiplayer servers
Badders46 replied to Rocko's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Hi Rocko, Welcome back! I haven't been on DCS for a while but I used to go on the Burning Skies server although I believe this disappeared and you had to connect via IP... Might be worth checking their Discord out... Enjoy!! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
I believe quite a few warbirds on the airshow scene have their turbos removed as there is no real requirement for it/them and it is an extra item to maintain. I seem to remember quite a few B-17s have theirs removed as they were only really required for high(er) altitude flying so it is easier to remove them. Also, don't forget that these aeroplanes would have been loaded heavily with ammunition and bombs so needed that 'oomph'... It isn't required now as they don't carry any payloads... I know it wouldn't affect you in the air, although might if you are already stalling on take off, but you don't have the parking brake set, or have toe brakes set at all? Just a thought as it could explain you being slow on take off roll? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

If this is a recent screenshot, which is seems to be(?)... It looks fab! I must admit, I have recently bought Il2 for the P-47 and it is just about satisfying my need/want for the Jug, but I will be a day one buyer for a DCS'd Thunderbolt!! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Morning all, Sorry if this has been posted before but I just stumbled upon this video on YouTube... Thought you might enjoy it! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

This is awesome to hear... I wasn't aware [emoji1303] My aviation passion is WW2 but none more so than the P-47... We are lucky to have one back in the UK! [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I know resources are concentrating on other modules but I seriously cannot wait for this aeroplane. It is by far my favourite WW2 fighter and have been lucky to have been up, close and personal to P-47G 'Snafu'. There is something about the Thunderbolt's size and presence that has amazed me for years and to be able to fly it in DCS, fully modelled will be awesome! Can't wait to jump in and fly it in VR! Hi all, I'm loving the F/A-18 but as a lover of the F-15, I was happy to stumble upon some forum threads after a quick Google search on an F-15E for DCS... I have the F-15C but I miss the complexity of the full modules (although I tend to only fly on aerobatic servers) but I wondered what the latest was on the F-15E (I believe Razbam were developing?) Fully appreciate information might not be able to be shared and that the F/A-18 and upcoming F-16 release require manpower so the F-15 might not be on the radar as such... Any comments would be most appreciated! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I have the 190-A and agree there is a lot of work left to do... I mainly fly on aerobatic servers so functions missing do not bother me (too much!). I'll be honest though, the P-47 is my favourite aircraft from WW2 (along with the B-17) and I would love for it to come out asap... Completely appreciate that other modules that require finishing have priority and deserve priority though! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I got an Occulus Rift when I used to Sim Race... I have fallen in love with Flight Sims again and DCS in VR is awesome! Flying in formation with guys and looking around and almost touching the other aircraft is a amazing! I had TrackIR before VR and it was good, but from an immersion point of view, the Rift is incredible! I cannot wait for the P-47... I hope it comes soon [emoji1696] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Advice on how to control the A/C just after take off

Not a problem at all [emoji106] thanks! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
Advice on how to control the A/C just after take off
Badders46 replied to Badders46's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Thanks [emoji106] I did the training mission a while back and I'm sure it said to trim 1 notch up?! Will try your tactic as I have seen an improvement already [emoji16] Thanks chaps! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
Advice on how to control the A/C just after take off
Badders46 replied to Badders46's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
So, letting the speed build to 120-140 before lift off has helped a lot... I have had to trim nose down a little though as 1 notch up tends to have her lifting off before I'm ready... How much rudder trim should I use? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
Advice on how to control the A/C just after take off
Badders46 replied to Badders46's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Cheers for the reply... I start with stick back and then come to neutral and allow the tail to come up and then she wants to lift off herself... Once airborne she gets all kind of skewhiff and takes massively to the right... I have tried less right rudder trim but it doesn't help too much... As a result she also wants to drop the right wing and u just feel like I'm playing catch up all the time. With the Mustang, I can keep her fairly straight and once in the air, keep her straight too. I want to love this module as the sounds are great and once in the air i think it's great... Still quite light on the controls though (it seems not a lot of input is needed in comparison to the Mustang?) Thanks! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -
Hi guys... I have flown the Mustang a lot and have actual time in Tiger Moths but I am struggling like mad with the Spit... It just seems so sensitive after take off? I can get up in the air (not quite as well as the Mustang) but I'm in the air and it is almost as if the aircraft has a mind of its own! Once established in the air, it flies beautifully... Still a bit sensitive but not too bad... I have tried curves (I have a 10cm in my TMWH) but nothing seems to help with the 30 seconds or so after take off? The Mustang is quite sedate in comparison. I want to enjoy the Spit as much as I can before the Jug (my favourite) comes along! Btw, given then have a very similar engine, if not identical (Rolls-Royce Vs Packard) I also think the Spit has superior sounds to the Mustang? Especially when on the ground! Any advice would be most appreciated! I have tried several ways of taking off (trims etc) and nothing seems to help too much! Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I'm sure it has been covered and I won't get my hopes up, but I would love there to be a Razorback model... [emoji1696][emoji1696] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Maybe I need to try rotating a bit earlier (manually) as I watched a couple of videos where it says to let the aircraft rotates on its own... Maybe when I rotate I have too high airspeed and therefore excess lift?! Have been flying the Mustang and Spitfire since Monday so haven't had chance to fly the '18! Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Thanks again chaps! I'll give this a go and see how I get on. Appreciate all of your help! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

I will try and grab screenshot if I can (I fly in VR) and attach it here [emoji106] I have started to do flaps up for the FCS test and it seems to climb a lot still but I can put up with this... I watched a video this morning of F18s taking off and their elevators/stabs were nowhere near as angled as the DCS trim but I guess they might not have been the exact model? Think they were Super Hornets... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Thanks for the tips... I haven't done carrier take offs but will one day, I'm sure! I watched a couple of videos where it suggests that you don't touch the stick and just let the aircraft lift when its ready. This is what I have been doing but it just seems to climb incredibly steep and then when I retract gear and bring flaps up it sinks (I guess due to less lift) but it just seems more than videos of other people and real life Hornets... I shall keep practicing and see what happens with your tips [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
