How do i use these keys/sliders
Luftwoller replied to Luftwoller's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
I really should have said that I have no idea how to program this thing. My worry is, as always, that Im going to cock something up and not be able to solve the problem. I looked in the modifiers in the 'Adjust controls' tab and the pinky switch doesn't show up in the list or when I press it? As for getting the slider to work???????? I know its probably really tedious to try to explain to a noob and I wish there was a TS channel for help but....Help!!! ...Guy -
Hi all, I have a Saitek X-52 throttle and stick and I was wondering if there was a way to map the pinky switch and the slider on the throttle? When I try to re-map a key to these, nothing appears? ...Guy

Thx for the research DieHard. I too am not much into the mission editor. Perhaps we should try to arrange a TeamSpeak meet up with other noobs (Im a noob btw) then that way we canpool what little knowledge we know and turn it into something more lol, ...Guy P.S I can do a basic mission but not sure how to add others too it.

Many thx, for the info. I had the easy radio comms set and that didn't let you talk to the tower. You had to have it realistic. Doh! I couldn't get the AFN homing indicator working though. Not that I needed it but is it activated in the 109 or Dora? ...Guy

Hi all, Ive been going through a few campaign missions for the 109 and am struggling to work out how to use the Radio? On the recon mission, after you have wizzed past the AF you have to call up another AF to ask for directions, I think. I tried the # key to bring up the menu but that doesn't work. Ive scoured the forums and the net (You tube) but Radio/Navigation tutorials on the early birds seem to be few and far between. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, ...Guy

Im using the 1 screen option, ...Guy

Thank you for this. whatever this is? I am soo new to all this modifying lua files etc. I found the folder that the MonitorSetup is in but after that im clueless. What is a LMFCD? and a RMFCD? My monitors res is 5760 x 1080 ...Guy

Hi all, I run 3 monitors and the problem im having is, that any spoken information goes onto the middle and right screen. Also ground crew information is right over on the right screen, Is there a way to get it all on the centre screen? I think I read a post about this earlier but im jiggered if I can find it again, Thanks in advance, ...Guy

Back in the day, you learnt in a 2 seater trainer. These were generally tail draggers so the principle was the same as their modern fighters. Remember these guys had a load of hours in trainers with the instructor behind them taking control if it got squirrely, ...Guy

Hi all, ive just started the navigation campaign again after installing the new campaign missions that have fixed problems with the vanilla versions. I'm stumped, the # key doesn't bring up any radio options and fiddle as I do, with the radio, I cant get anything out of that either. Ive read the 109 manual and that doesn't help either. How do I navigate somewhere. The only video online is the one where the guy opens his map in editor and navigates that way. Help!!! ...Guy

I swear to god I just did this. I came in side slipping at around 220kmh, the ship which isn't a carrier, is doing something like 60kmh? Going quick anyhoo, I stalled the plane when right over and crashed it into the bulkhead. No flames no explosion, just a fecked plane. Then the whole thing slipped through the floor and exploded. But I did it!! Just a shame I don't have photographic proof lol. Great mission though..

Thank you Sir, Im a bit confused how to install it though. When I D/L from his drop box it just shows me the files not in a folder. How and where do I put these? ...Guy

...For taking off the dora. This is a much easier operation. For me anyways. I taxi the bird forward slowly till im straight then pull the stick right back to lock the tailwheel. Ensure I have flaps set to take off (Ctrl-F) then go straight to full throttle. Dab the brake to keep her square and add a little right elevator to counter the torque. But the MAIN thing is to let her fly herself off the runway. DO NOT pull up till shes airborne. Good luck, ...Guy

Hi all, As a noob, I feel my experiences to be relevant. All I can say is practice practice, practice. I've set up a really basic free flight mission for both the 190D and the 109 for landing/take-off practice. The 109 is soo much easier to take off and land, than the 190. But I've nearly sorted the 190. One of the things that really helped, Me anyway, was adding a little Dead zone to my rudder pedals. As if your not accustomed to pedals you find yourself leaving a little bit of pressure one way or the other and that can be fatal on touchdown. On landing the Dora I find the key is speed and Sink rate. I approach the AF at around 250kmh with a sinkrate of 5-10, when im within 50 mts of the runway I back right off the throttle. This should put the speed as you cross the threshold to around 200kmh, flare off and aim to get the plane pointing, ever so slightly, above the horizon. This will also reduce your sink rate to 3-5 and your speed to 190-180kmh. This will give you, hopefully, a 3 pointer (All 3 wheels hitting the ground together) The danger now is a ground loop. So as soon as all 3 wheels are on the deck give the plane a little right rudder to counter the inevitable torque steering to the left. Don't be shy to tap the brake pedal to help the rudder (I.e. if she pulls left, tap right rudder) Use the tail wheel lock once she's straight and under the 100kmh mark. If you pull in while she's rolling offline you will definitely need brake pedal input to square you up. If I knew how to post vids I would. Perhaps someone will help me there, Good luck and happy landing, ...Guy

Hi I recently saw on here (somewhere) a mod or maybe 2 that had improved gauges (Look of them) and general wear including the wooden floor on the Mustang, but I cant for the life of me find it again. Does anyone have a link they can let me have, Thanks in advance, ...Guy

Historical default skins for the Dora
Luftwoller replied to Robo.'s topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Is there a simple fix like this for the 109 as well? Many thanks for 190 fix btw, ...Guy -
Hi all, I wonder if anyone knows of a video tutorial on how to do a simple mission. Something along the lines of taking off from an AF and attacking some helos/ another plane or planes etc. Or to be able to set up a quick landing practise. Really that basic. Ive looked online and I get confused real quick Ive sorted out how to add mods to the game (Just) and that took, what seemed like, forever. Thanks in advance, ...Guy
-
Thanks all, Ive now managed to get several mods working in game, which im really happy with. You guys are the best, ...Guy

Im such a noob when it comes to messing with files and such. I always reckon im going to screw something up/ Im sure all your descriptions of how to this means a lot to the initiated but im afraid im not one of them. Ive D/L'd a skin for the 190 but I think ill only be able to see it if I make a mission and choose the plane. Id love to be able to see them both (190 and 109) when im practising out of a personally set up mission (I cant do that either) I am learning slowly....but very slowly it seems. You boys are just too clever lol. ...Guy
