  1. Since there is a high chance that all of you guys here are going to end up being my wing men and the F-14 is still probably 6-8 months away, why don't we take this time till launch to get to know one another? 1. How did you learn about DCS? 2. When did you first learn about the F-14? 3. What made you fall in love with the F-14? 4. Any backstories of seeing the Top Gun movie for the first time? 5. Did any of you really fly/RIO in an F-14? I hope everyone is interested in what others have to say. I know I am! Frisco1522
  2. Would only want that if I could walk around on an MP server with my RIO going... "I feel the need...the need..FOR SPEED!" The high-five is a must. Frisco1522
  3. Well I just happen to see.."We" happened to see an F-14 do a 4G negative dive.... Kidding! Jokes aside, this is just the data Wikipedia supplied me so I could get the ball rolling. If you have the exact stats on it, can't hurt to post it. Frisco1522
  4. Playing Devil's Advocate here, looking at the stats and a documentary or 2, these airplanes actually seem quite similar in terms of roles. F-14 MiG-25 MiG-31 The F-14 and the MiG-31 in particular were both known for being able to track and engage 6 targets simultaneously, all 3 are categorized as Interceptor/Fighters and were used for similar roles. What could the F-14 do that the MiG's couldn't, and vice versa? This documentary about the MiG's claims the MiG-31 is more comparable to an F-22, but I think they are really more comparable to a Tomcat. From MIG-25 to MIG-31 (Documentary) Frisco1522
  5. Which was more capable in terms of: 1. Speed 2. Service Ceiling 3. Maneuverability 4. Ease of Use 5. Explosives 6. Hit Percentage 7. Range Let the debate begin! :smartass: Frisco1522
  6. Hey, if i'm gonna buy it, gotta break it too. Frisco1522
  7. When damaged is there a possibility that, due to a hydraulic failure for example, the wings could become fixed mid flight or end up being asymmetrical? This would be a cool feature to have to deal with in-game. "The F-14 has flown and landed safely with an asymmetrical wing-sweep on an aircraft carrier during testing; this capability could be used in emergencies" -Wikipedia Keep it up!
