[NO BUG]1.5.2.49392 Su25T HUD speed indicator problem
NightMan replied to hannibal's topic in Bugs and Problems
This is just ridiculous. Multi million rubles planes and the pitot always reads 80 km/h? And multi million dollars planes and they also show something other than 0 knots? And for diferent planes the value is always the same? That assumes the Russian technology is exactly the same as western technology. It also assumes the pitots are the same in every plane. Also, if it is unreliable, shouldn't it behave randomly? I guess it has precise unreliability, because the value is always the same. Deterministic, like we usually say. Ridiculous. http://www.skybrary.aero/index.php/Unreliable_Airspeed_Indications -
Problems in models and cockpits
NightMan replied to NightMan's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Problems in models and cockpits Some of the cockpits have suffered some strange changes. For example, the cockpit of the Su-27 now has inscriptions in Chinese, or something that resembles Chinese. In fact, most of the models in version 1.5 appear to have derived from some version prior to version 1.2.16. Some of the problems noticed in 1.5 models had been solved in version 1.2.16. It’s like version 1.5 branched from some older version. -

Yes. They confirmed that to me. You can uninstall DCS and reinstall it again without deactivating and activating. Licenses linger. It’s like that by design.

It happened not only with the Mustang. They seem to be turning DCS more into a game and less into a simulation. Regretfully.

The way the chat system is implemented is extremely bad. First of all – It should be possible to hide it entirely, including the envelope. The messages are hard to read. The chat window should disappear after a message is sent, and the player should not be forced to close it. It gets in the way. The previous method was much better. The best solution would be to recover the method used in 1.2.16 and include the possibility to deactivate/activate the reception of messages.

The rearming doesn't respect configurations saved in version 1.2.16. For example, in the F-15C it only places the fuel tanks "bags". Also, the right button of the mouse most of the times doesn't bring the menu with the available choices for each pylon. And yes, the mouse is working correctly because I use it withou problems with other software products.

IAS appears to be incorrect
NightMan posted a topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Every plane shows some IAS in the HUD. I set up a mission and made sure all the winds were at 0 (zero). The F-15C shows 13 at TAS and 0 at GS. The Su-25T shows 80 km/h. So, either the IAS calculation is off or the game is generating some wind even if we tell it not to. -
The new update method, just like the new installation method, is a piece of you know what. ED assumes too much about the connections people have. We could leave the machine downloading the installers during the day and peacefully install them in minutes at the end of the day. But no. They consider better to make us wait hours until that piece of you know what downloads you know what while we could be looking for bugs in the new version. I'm extremely disgusted with the way DCS is going. Is anyone else out there feeling the same way?

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?
NightMan replied to Chizh's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
My card is a GTX460M. It supports DX11 but it has only 1.5 GB of memory and I am affraid it won't be enough to run version 1.5.2. -
Version 1.2.x has more than enough bugs for us to be investing in newer versions, not to mention new hardware, and money doesn't grow on trees.

Choose 1.2.

Feature Request: Rapid Glance keyboard commands
NightMan replied to NightMan's topic in DCS Wishlist
Hello again! Thanks for the suggestion. Indeed the Custom Snap Views worked, but it was a pain in the you know what to set them up. At first I ended up several times redefining the Default View and having to restore de default settings. Then I realized I had already (some time ago) redefined the original commands. So, if that happens to you don’t use LWin+NumX. Instead use the sequence you have replaced the original for. However, using the Custom Snap Views prevents us from using them for something else, like looking at some system. I will use them until the request for implementation is satisfied. -
Feature Request: Rapid Glance keyboard commands
NightMan replied to NightMan's topic in DCS Wishlist
Hi! I did indeed stumbled on the snap views, but either I didn’t quite get the grip on them or they really don’t do what I need. I will dedicate some time this night to explore them. -
Gentlemen, To those of us who don’t have a TrackIR, the absence in DCS of specific keyboard commands which allow for a quick scan of the sky puts us in great disadvantage. Without such keys we struggle to maintain situation awareness and it’s almost impossible to spot heat seekers heading our way. I use flight simulators and combat flight simulators since 1989, and I remember well titles like The Red Baron and the Aces series, where there were no missiles involved but even without TrackIR we always had full situation awareness, tanks to specific keyboard commands. In DCS we have 8 (eight) glance functions, but these are almost useless. Without prejudice to the existing functions, a few more should be added: Glance up – allowing the pilot to truly look up vertically, at an angle of 90º, maybe even with some degree of zooming; Glance forward – this one would be equivalent on zooming in on the HUD; Glance left – this one would allow the pilot to look left, at an angle of 270º horizontally, maybe even with some degree of zooming; Glance right – this one would allow the pilot to look right, at an angle of 90º horizontally, maybe even with some degree of zooming; Glance back-left – allowing the pilot to look behind the plane to the left, maybe even with some degree of zooming; this would be equivalent to pressing the hat switch on the joystick left all the way until the panning stops; this would mean a rotation of around 170º left, to an angle of 190º horizontally; Glance back-right – allowing the pilot to look behind the plane to the right, maybe even with some degree of zooming; this would be equivalent to pressing the hat switch on the joystick right all the way until the panning stops; this would mean a rotation of around 170º right, to an angle of 170º horizontally. From all these, the two last ones are the most important. In fact, their importance is critical. Therefore, I would like to humbly request that ED implements what I have suggested or similar. Thank you very much for your attention. Best regards The NightMan P.S. – I am tired of being shot down by ETs (R-27ET)!
