Check out how much VRAM DCS is using if you are experiencing stutters (ctrl+pause 2 times), if you get more than the VRAM that your card has you are bound to have issues. I was getting 11GB VRAM usage on the 104th DCS server earlier, which points to a major VRAM leak issue.

Top Gun Round 2 [Modern BFM competition]

I'm able to join in, sorry for the late reply. -
Is there a flush command for clearing out VRAM in DCS?
-
Sorry, but you'd have to unfortunately dig that up yourself, since I have to go for a bit. I can't stand the stuttering at all with paging file on an SSD, which is why I have to put up a ramdisk for it. You're perfectly right in assuming that the SSD would speed things up, but it's been years since people discovered that it's actually behind the stuttering. It may vary greatly because SSD firmware defines the trim commands differently hence many users don't experience this issue because of their SSD manufacture.
-
Having the page file on an SSD is actually the reason why people are having stuttering in the first place, so it should be on a regular hard disk or a RAMDISK because SSD trimming is apparently doing it. Also, the issues right now have nothing to do with the page file seemingly, me and a few others have tested without page file / it on RAMDISK or HDD and it's no use. Again, the issues started with the latest hotfixes.

Look for input lag and FPS drop, with your system you should easily be able to run for example the A-10 with TGP and MAV FLIR screens at 1024 and still get mostly 60fps @ 1080p I don't know your GPU, but try pulling on the stick rapidly ingame back and forth and see if it responds with a ~0.2 second input lag, I suspect your performance issues still exist. At least I have a lot of input lag which is hard to make out first, but ruins the experience of flying, especially with TrackIR which feels like moving your head through jelly.

Hey, as some of you've noted the recent updates to DCS have caused massive framerate/stuttering/input lag issues for many, and after testing different updates from this list: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2249076&postcount=2 So, after trying just about everything to fix the issues I'm having with the aforementioned problems I decided to try reinstalling everything. I installed the baseline 1.5 clean and had no performance issues at all, after which I used the DCS_updater.exe to update to hotfix 4 which seems to cause issues (see many threads on the same topic on performance with the latest updates) and the problems came back! Now, after using the DCS_updater.exe with command prompt 'update (version)' and trying out every patch since 1.5.0.45166 the problems do not go away. (Also when reverting back to 1.5 baseline) I need some testers to verify the same issue with this, so if you're having performance issues too with the latest patches then :helpsmilie: and post results. Thanks. In a nutshell here's what I mean to test: People who experience performance issues with the latest patches revert back to 1.5 baseline (1.5.0.45166) using the updater.exe and report back if you still have these issues. Then we might find out if these problems are more related to the updater.exe than the patches themselves, or maybe steer the devs to a better direction for fixing the issues we're having. (To use the updater for this purpose easily, go to your \bin folder where the DCS.exe exists and shift+right mouse button on empty space to 'open command window here' then type in 'DCS_updater.exe update >insert version number<' ex. DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.0.45166)

There are already threads about this, but yeah again, same issues here and also with many others!

Tried that as well. No difference. Also, the game will be unstable if there is no page file.
