  1. Hey, Have a look in the Squadron Directory. If you are interested in the upcoming F/A-18C come take a look at our Squadron, VMFA-251. We are currently training in the A-10C and F-5 for now until transition to the F/A-18C. It is a great time to get in with us since everyone is currently being trained from the basics on up to as close as US Marine standards as possible. http://vmfa251.com/forum/
  2. If you are interested in an F/A-18 Squadron, VMFA-251 is recruiting. Currently we are using A-10C/F-5E for training and ops until the F/A-18 is released. Come join us on the site, we are actively training up so you can get in at the ground floor. http://vmfa251.com
  3. happy birthday, devils. semper fi :drink:
  4. Glad you posted this, I saw it the other day and backed it. I was about to post one as well to get the word out. I can't wait til it comes out, it looks amazing!
  5. That would be awesome! I was just literally looking in the Google Play Store for something like this. Great Idea!
  6. Wow, I have an X-55 as well, and don't have any problems what so ever with it. Is it absolutely perfect, no. Do I have the money to purchase something better? No. So, I make do, and don't have any significant issues at all with it. I don't really see the logic of your rant. Btw, the part about the buttons being hard to press? What? Do yourself a favor, go get a Captains of Crush hand trainer and build up some superior hand strength, then button pushing prolly wouldn't be much of an issue.
  7. pretty legit, makes me wish sometimes i was a Marine Hornet driver instead of a grunt....well sometimes lol. :joystick:
  8. I finally was able to install all my modules using the cmd prompt. Took forever to get them all install with the http source problem....However, my module manager page is still blank. It shows absolutely nothing under each tab, so not sure how I will be able to install new modules or campaigns, see serial numbers, etc. without using the cmd prompt option. For anyone wondering here is how to install via the cmd prompt, took me a while to do it right and get it to work. read through the post and take a look at the install module section: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030
  9. Same exact problem for me. Module manager is totally blank. When I try to use the command prompt to update and install each module, I get an http source error.
  10. In FL now...Might be a DCS Hurricane party for me!!!:drink:
  11. Pre-ordered...or I am in...or whatever lol
  12. Love it!!! I am all for it. This and the F-18C are my top two on my wishlist. The F-18 is being done already, so yes please make this one too
  13. Love it! I would fly it.
  14. Ok thanks.
  15. I have no problem with the Sabre at all. I have been having a blast learning to fly it. I have the original manual for it, and it seems pretty close to what the book says. No complaints from me, just pure enjoyment. :joystick:
  16. Thanks for the info. Yeah, I was just looking to talk to people who might have saved my ass a few times from the air. We used a lot of support from them, since they were usually on station everyday in our AO. Their support sometimes was vital, and they did an amazing job helping us when we needed it most.
  17. Thanks for the input. I wasn't aware of that. However, I did know that during patrol briefs when we checked air status before stepping off, we always got word on other nation's air support and I don't remember hearing any from Australia. I remember Belgians, French, and Brits tho. Thanks tho for the info
  18. Ok cool, I will take a look at it. Yea, I know Marine units can be hard to nail down about exact deployments and attachments etc. Some times you have to be in the know or know someone who is. Even the units I was with and deployed with are hard to find exact info on.
  19. That's a tough one. Most of the time I saw them up close they were way too fast to even get a good look at. Plus, at the time, I couldn't tell the difference between the different types of F/A-18's. The only time they came close enough to see was on "Show of Force" with flares popping, and then gun runs. Every time they dropped ordnance they were way too high to see. We talked to them of course during their support runs. But, all their callsigns were a color + a number, so we never got any identifying details on them. Perhaps, they might have been Marine sqdn's from in country, and just getting them mixed up thinking they were from a carrier....My timeline was from June-Jan. 2010. But that's awesome you found that. Thanks again. :)
  20. Excellent work. I have looked at wiki and global security but some how missed this. Would have to be the Truman then going by this. The Eisenhower would have been gone by the time we were operating in July, if not gone then maybe a week or two of support. Thanks for this, gives me a lead to start with.
  21. Oh ok, well thanks. I figured I would try here, just in case. I appreciate it.
  22. Well, I been trying to find which carrier group and which sqdns were flying over Helmand Province in 2010. We used them quite a bit. So, was just looking for guys that might have been doing CAS for us....They always flew pretty low, but never got a good luck at any aircraft or sqdn numbers. But, I do know they were F/A-18's lol.
  23. Any US Naval or Marine Aviators out there? Got a few questions for you...:)
  24. 53's are awesome beasts. Leaky hydraulic fluid and all, Crew Chiefs used to tell us if they stop leaking, then we are going down lol. I preferred them over the 46's. I never got a ride in an Osprey, they were still "proving" themselves, and in country they were reserved for guys with shiny brass on their collars lol....I would love to see all three in DCS one day. That would be magnificent :pilotfly:
  25. Excellent mission and great screenshots. I wish I could have joined you guys, looks like it was a blast! I can't wait to see a vid of it...Looking at the screenshots, it brings back memories of Helo Ops and Helo Assaults, but mine were all with leaky CH-53s lol...
