Thanks for the reply.. I downloaded the F-86 module from the dcs website, attempted to install it but it says DCS 1.28 is required to be installed. I do not understand. Why did 1.5 automatically see all my other modules but not the F-86? I bought everything through steam, the only thing I did not get through steam was the dcs 1.5 download and now the f-86 (which is already downloaded through steam). Sorry but this is a bit frustrating that this is not a clear cut process.

F-86 not showing in 1.5 I believe I have a similar problem.. Some of my steam purchases automatically updated and worked fine in the standalone (A-10C, P-51, FC3) but the F-86 is not showing up there.. how do I get it to work? People in the past have mentioned using the key from steam but where do I even input that on the standalone version.. the only option I see is to buy it..

When will the nttr map and new campaigns come to steam Any idea when the NTTR map and new campaigns will come to steam? I currently have everything on steam and according to my understanding if I repurchase the map now I won't be able to use it via steam. The only reason I want to keep steam version is because I feel I have already paid extra for the simplicity of auto updating, fast downloads, and a simple install. Can anybody give me some ideas why it would be better to switch from steam? Or maybe it will come out on steam at release... Thanks

does this mean there will be NAS Fallon B-17 complex in this map since it should be in the north west corner? If such a remote area is being used I hope the Navy's primary range will be there including the "combat town" for urban cas training. It is a shame there has little mention of NAS Fallon.. I assume this means it is not included. When I think Nevada with regards to military aviation I think red flag and I think Fallon. May be a nice addition when the hornet comes along...

never figured out the problem with DCS world btw.. just uninstalled and reinstalled the whole thing and works fine.

well i just tried the A-10C module in DCS World and the difference is remarkable.. WAY better performance even at max settings, and so many things are improved.. water effects, gun effects, smoke, mirrors, explosions, even seemed that the flight model was tweaked but could be my imagination. Anyways HUGE difference and unfortunately I wouldnt be surprised if there were others out there confused about this like I was. All this time playing it on out dated stand alone haha. Hmm I am not sure how to get crash logs.. I can try to figure that out haha. I double click the DCS World icon, steam window opens making select a product key, runs "first time initialization steps 1 and 2" and then "bin launcher.exe" black box appears briefly and then I get the message "DCS has stopped working_ A problem caused the program t sop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I am excited to hear that I will most likely get a performance increase.. I was slightly disappointed at the slower frame rate than I expected.

Ahh ok so my experience may be very different playing the stand alone than on DCS World! Thanks. I have windows 7 64, GTX 760, i7 4770k, 16gb RAM. Run everything maxed but probably shouldnt.. on the stand alone I get significant stuttering and slow downs while looking around on deck, and in combat (expected). I guess some of the patches in the last 3 years may have optimized the game a bit.. Are the locations you fly in the campaign all very similar? I love the terrain in DCS stand alone... wanted to make sure I wont be missing out on this by playing it in DCS world.. At the moment DCS world wont run.. Worked fine for a few weeks and then randomly I get the message "DCS has stopped working" after a few seconds once I double click on the DCS World icon. I figured I would have to reinstall.. but I had no idea that the experience playing DCS A-10C in the standalone is different from in DCS world.. if I understand you correctly it could be quite different due to lack of patches. This is the first time I am really playing DCS A-10 campaign so I wanted to make sure I am doing it the "best" way available today..

Stand Alone vs DCS World Hello, I am new to DCS World but not new to DCS A-10C. I am wondering if playing DCS A-10C module (singleplayer) on DCS World will be in any way different from the stand alone version. Are the campaigns, patches, environment all the same? I have been a little confused on this as I could have sworn I saw some different settings available (preload distance?) on DCS World that were not on my stand alone. I am using steam version of everything but am unable to open DCS World due to it not opening. Crashes every time I try to run it for whatever reason but the stand alone works fine..
