  1. Are you using a page file on your SSD?
  2. I posted a track earlier in the thread. Not the most thrilling thing to watch, but it was specifically to capture this problem.
  3. Really? So confused. I've always had trashy performance (pretty bad compared to every other module) in the A-10 tbh, Just the FLIR's making it worse. Are you using WHOT/BHOT on the TGP?
  4. @raptorsim Ta for looking into it some more, and I completely agree. Everyone is experiencing much higher frame drops in 1.5 regarding FLIR regardless of their setup, although a better rig apparently seems to make it unnoticeable to the naked eye. But the videos and stats don't lie, surely ED can see the fps drops on their own hardware, even if it doesn't affect them visually, they should be able to see a major fps drop in the performance readings. Surely that's enough to report, this and the Shkval's similar fps issues cannot seriously still be an issue when 2.0 eventually rolls out. I'd have to say farewell to DCS personally, I'd rather not have to spend $1000aud for a graphics card I don't absolutely need to overcome what seems like a major software bug.
  5. My sentiments exactly, I went back to 1.2 just to fly the A-10 and to see if I was imagining this but I'm not. In 1.2 you get a few frames drop (about 5 fps) using CCD, when I switched to FLIR there was no further drop. The issue seems to be FLIR specifically, and everyone here has seem the issue, but given enough gpu/vram grunt the just aren't as affected. Surely ED can reproduce it, even if it's still very much playable for them on their super machines? It is a huge drop after all, you only have to run fraps or the like to see that.
  6. Well I'm on 2gig. Hopefully this is the root of the problem.
  7. Ahhh, oh well. Like I said earlier I haven't changed my cockpit res in a week. Everytime I load in the fps when using FLIR is still borked. Looks like I'm in for a looong wait to fly an A-10 again :\ Hopefully I can go back to 1024 every frame MFD res one day.
  8. Like I said, I'd try it, but I think this is what I've already done every time I've started DCS and not touched the settings. Unless he means you've gotta load DCS, change the MFD res, quit, load DCS again, every single time.
  9. I don't think I understand the solution, I restarted DCS a million times. It's always the same. I don't load it up each time to mess with settings anyway, my MFDs are on 512 now as they have been for two weeks. Did this work for anyone?
  10. So given the 'you got it or you don't' circumstances that make this possibly impossible to reproduce, is this gonna be reported and looked at?
  11. What video card do you use Sith? Nevermind, saw it. So could it be a vram usage issue? If so, could it be fixed?
  12. Okie-dokie. Is that TGP in general or TGP with FLIR on? Anyhow, I double checked my aspect ratio tonight, yeah definitely set correctly. Although everytime I go back into the settings I see 1.777777 instead of 16:9 :S, anyhow, seems like it's set correctly when I choose 16:9 and click ok.
  13. Of course it's set correctly, besides, if it killed the fps, it'd kill the fps somewhat the whole time. Not just kill it when FLIR is flicked on.
  14. Not sure where your info comes from, but this is all 100% not true. Some people do have issues with aero, but aside from that fact everything written here is absolutely false.
  15. Alrighty, I'll post my specs again. i5 4670k, nvidia 760gtx, 16 gb ram, trackir 5, saitek x52, Windows 10. Running at 1920x1080, everything on high, flat shadows are off, vsync on (and adaptive on in the nvidia control panel), panels at 512 (not every frame). I get a constant 60fps aside from the TGP, MAV and Shkval (Shkval is only affected on Vhkr launch). I've turned absolutely everything to low and turned on flat shadows and get the same issue, TGP with FLIR and/or MAV, or launching with the Shkval devestates the framerate. Alt-Enter into true fullscreen doesn't make a difference. I recorded a track in the A-10 as well, think the link is on page 2 or 3 here. Seems you either have the problem or you don't. All my drivers are up to date, my system normally kicks arse. You <could> say the 760gtx isn't a great card to be using BUT I am only running at 1920x1080 and they're more than capable of running anything at that res. Plus there's guys here with better specced cards than mine with the same issue.
  16. YES. This. A DTC that operates much like Falcon 4's would be so great, I wonder if DSMS settings in the A-10 are stored on the DTC in real life? That'd be a big time saver.
  17. You could try Mustangs no tree shadows fix for 1.5. Compare tree shadows with no tree shadows.
  18. OMFG, I somehow had DSR settings turned on 2x in the nvidia control panel, I'll try it now without and see how it goes.... I NEVER have DSR on, it's a fps KILLER! Hurts with AA too, I've only got a 760gtx. Oh well. Turned adaptive on for DCS as well so I'm expecting great things now lol. This has been bugging me....
  19. Graphics.lua I believe is where you're headed, although someone on another thread did a little test and found the capping caused more stutters and that vsync was the way to go. I might try adaptive vsync myself just to see what it's like even though the sim is mostly smooth (except FLIR and in the F-15).
  20. Not to argue but, what does down sampling have to do with high to low fps transitions?
  21. The frame drop in 1.2 was minimal, barely noticeable and more in line performance wise with the rest of the sim. The frame drop in 1.5 is so striking and renders the A-10 especially unusable, it's gotta be a problem with optimization or a bug. It doesn't seem right at all given the performance increase in all other areas.
  22. Hoping you leave the new toggles in as well, they're very handy for me at least. Especially the wep selector knob.
  23. So has this issue been reported to the devs?
  24. Okay, I'm back. 512 for me is the same performance dip. both MFDs on TGP and/or MAV crush the framerate. One MFD drops the framerate pretty badly in itself when FLIR is active. Anyway, here's my track from just now, no fancy flying, just a very quick startup and takeoff while the EO initalized. https://www.dropbox.com/s/f6lx00n08c29o8w/FLIR%20Performance.trk?dl=0 Hope this helps.
  25. Hmmm, I'll give 512 a shot right now, can't imagine it'd make a difference but I'll try it and report back.
