  1. I'll try it out tonight and report back!
  2. Thanks so much for doing this and keeping it working. Before I install, just wanted to check with everyone here - Does it still work with the latest DCS version? Thanks in advance, I came here for the Standard ARM! BTW, I'd give my left nut for a real Wild Weasel F-4G with all the fancy black boxes and stuff. I get all worked up just thinkin' about SAM's
  3. Ok got it, sorry I was confused on the terminology. Does it have any actual effect on the game?
  4. Getting same error, only when non-public (private) server selector. Updated to latest beta. It’s not fixed. Why does it keep happening. I Googled it and this error is one that has been around a while and keeps recurring.
  5. Former pilot here. Looks like a classic deep stall with the wash from the wings “blanketing” the elevators, rendering them useless and preventing recovery. Also looks likely the rudders would be rendered pretty ineffective. Agree with deploying the gear but honestly it looks un-recoverable in the altitude available. Without yaw and pitch authority, you can’t recover. The SU-27 is a hot ship. It’s designed to be unstable, but it’s not some fly-by-wire starship that’s going to keep you out of trouble. It’s why I love flying the Russian planes - they demand more from the computer in your head
  6. I hope you can reduce the engine power substantially in the next update. The plane can accelerate during high-g maneuvers and the top speed at low level is crazy (about double what an Su-27 can do). Right now, I only fly without afterburners, because the plane is so overpowered. Keep up the good work! I love all French aircraft :)
  7. I have a laptop with a Plextor M5M SSD and 8gb RAM, and I've never had any stutters at all: 1920x1080, all settings on High except Shadows Medium, TSSAA on, Vsync on, Fullscreen on, Cockpit shadows on. CPU is an i7-4700mq and GPU is a GTX765m. I don't use MSAA, instead I use FXAA in the Nvidia control panel (my GPU has more shader power than memory bandwidth, so it works better). I had this sort of stuttering on FC2 and on my previous machine (with much lower specs). I've never seen any stuttering on my desktop, which is considerably more powerful. In both cases, DCS is installed on the SSD with a paging file on a separate HDD. Perhaps the key is to have DCS on one drive, and your paging file on another. SSD's have serious problems with simultaneous read/writes. I'll move my pagefile over to the SSD and see if I can make it stutter.
  8. I'm running Eyefinity with 2 5870's and the game is just incredible at 5760x1200.
  9. You still can't order as of today via Amazon. I went ahead and ordered from Simw.com - hopefully they actually have it! ED - how about just selling this directly? I'd MUCH rather have you guys get all my money anyway. And I'll reiterate my assertion that you are charging *way* too little for such a magnificent piece of software. I feel positively guilty for paying a mere $50. You guys should *include* a printed manual, and charge $150US or so. These sims have become so much more complex that it seems nuts to ask small developers to charge what some behemoth like EA gets for yet another brain-dead FPS. OK - I'll shut up now. Sorry :pilotfly:
  10. How did you do this? That isn't just a new screen, but an entirely new computer you're using for the Shkval display. Wicked!!
  11. I have both an XPS M1730 lappie with dual 8800GTX's and a desktop with 3 GTX280's in Tri-SLI. No difference in performance with SLI. Seems entirely CPU bound.
  12. Thank God for you guys. I've only started to explore Black Shark, but I can already tell that the same depth and realism that was present in LOMAC is very much in evidence. I'm still mastering LOMAC all these years later. I doubt it will ever leave my HDD, and neither will Black Shark. Again - thank you so much for keeping my favorite type of game alive. If it weren't for you guys - there would be nothing. Why the Hell has gaming degenerated to the point where it only appeals (with rare exception) to young males with very limited attention spans? I'm really hoping these idiots end up gravitating toward Facebook, et al. and leave my hobby alone. One suggestion: make a Special Edition with a ring-bound manual and laminated quick-reference sheets. I'd buy that in a heartbeat for $100-$150.

  13. Hi - I realize you're well-meaning, but this is just plain wrong. Max temp on the Core2 is over 90C. The temp is meaningless unless it allows a higher overclock. That is the only reason (except, perhaps, longevity - as if that's important!) for keeping temps in the 40's. If your CPU never goes above 45C, it means you're not pushing it hard enough (by overclocking). To sum up - processor temp has zero direct effect on performance. Clockspeed determines that. A lower temp may allow a higher clockspeed. But it's the overclock - not the lower temp - that provides the performance. The primary reason for higher CPU temps when overclocking isn't the clockspeed anyway - it's due to the increased voltage necessary to achieve stability. I run an e8600 oc'ed to 4.75Ghz (using water and thermoelectric cooling) @ 1.45V and it runs around 58C when maxed out with no ill effects. And back on-topic: Yes, BS is very CPU-bound. I'm running 3 GTX280's in Tri-SLI and it runs no quicker than it does with my old 9800GX2.
