  1. Don't really know if this is where I should be posting this, but I saw some other posts regarding 1.5.5 here. When I try to fly a mission in campaign mode, the mission starts in the F10 map and I am not in control of my aircraft. This is after the update. This is, I assume, all modules. I started new campaigns with other modules and same thing. Am I missing something or is this a genuine problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Posting to keep this thread alive. IIRC, only American fighter to remain in service throughout the war. Twin engine reliability and used in most, if not all, theaters. Multirole capable. Charles Lindbergh flew it and so did America's top ace. I say, P-38L for DCS.
  3. Well, just to let everyone know, I picked the d9. I couldn't decide, so I put a pic of a K4 next to a d9 and asked my wife which plane looked better. She said the d9... Downloading the bundle and modules now for 2.0. :joystick: However, I should have looked at the store before downloading because the p51 is on sale and so is the dcs nttr map for less than 60 bucks. Damnit:doh: Thank you all for the help and reviewing, but in the end my CO was the deciding factor.
  4. This has probably been asked a whole lot of times before, but I can't seem to find a thourough explanation to satisfy my curiousity. I am wanting to purchase a bundle deal this weekend, but I can't decide between the 109 and 190. I am aware of the differences between the two, and their optimum fighting styles. My question is, which module offers more bang for my buck. Which aircraft has more options in missions, configurations, weapons, etc? Which is more polished and optimized? It seems I am unable to really find anything on either, other than what is advertised. Any help is appreciated.
  5. Also, if you are into helos, I would recommend the KA-50. Much easier to fly once you get the hang of the autopilot and its wanting to murder you. You don't need to worry about torque from the rotor head. Systems are not as advanced as some would like, but still fun to fly and engage targets. Huey is crazy fun to fly with all the manual adjustments needed to keep the damn thing straight and level. Takeoff and landing can get tricky until you get used to it. I also think it is pretty rad I can load it for bear with miniguns and the AI targets most weapons, sans rocket. This is the module I fly the most, atm. Mi-8 is one big, heavily armed helo. Weapons aren't as smart as KA-50, if you can call the black shark's all that smart. Also fun to fly, and learn the systems. More complex than I would say the other two, but I also have the least experience with it. Don't fly it as much due to weird fps issues I have with it. KA-50=sportscar Huey=pickup Mi-8=freight truck A-10C is a DCS staple. Let's not forget the KA-50 predates the A-10C as a premium module, however. I love the A-10C, but unless you are willing to invest serious time learning the insane amount of systems and have a pretty damn good HOTAS, it may be a bit difficult to get into the A-10C. I don't play this as much, because I am lazy and don't want to program my new CH controls. :joystick: Anyways, I am sorry if this got long winded, but I hope it helps you choose the module best for you. And welcome to DCS.
  6. What if I have all the recommended? Which would you all recommend out of Mig-15, F-86, Bf-109, or Fw-190?
  7. Hi all, I have a few questions about my systems. Specs are i7 4790k, 2 xfx r9 290x's, 16gb ddr3 ram, 250gb ssd, all shoved into a z97 extreme6 mobo. Stock cooling and no overclocking. Graphics settings are generally set to high except shadows, which are set to flat only. Preload is max, trees to 9000 and clutter at 800? Running both video cards in optimize 1x1. Monitoring software is MSI Afterburner. My first concern is the fact that when in missions in any module around busy areas, I start taking fps hits. 60fps down to about mid 30s. I monitor both GPUs and they bounce around between 0 to 100 percent. Run about 50c to 70c. I turn shadows up to ultra, same thing happens. I don't think my GPUs are bottlenecking me. I am now beginning to suspect CPU performance is the culprit. So I start monitoring CPU Usage, which according to Task Manager, is about 25 to 30 percent. Well, I look at temps on MSI and HOLY SH*T 91c!!! This is on busy missions like KA-50 Battle, Huey Harbor Tour, or anywhere around a busy airport. So I guess my questions: Is this temp on my CPU normal for these high demand situation?s If not, then why does my CPU, with my settings the way they are, get so much demand and temp? I hope this was thorough enough to get some insight from some of techier forum users. I appreciate any help and will work with any of you to the best of my abilities.
  8. Wow, thanks for all the replies. Some tough decisions I am coming across. I do like the VKB pedals, but the lack of toe brakes is sticking with me for some reason. But I think I may hold off on pedals for a bit and just concentrate on the a-10c. Just sucks, I really like the ka-50 and was looking to get the other helos soon. Oh well. Might just get the mig-21, now. Anyways, thank you all for the help. I appreciate it.
  9. I have a Saitek X52 HOTAS and have been perusing the internet for a set of Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals to go along with my stick. But I am running into everywhere that sells them is either out of stock or charging outrageous prices. Like 450 bucks on amazon outrageous. So I have questions. What is going on with this shortage of rudder pedals from Saitek? Will CH rudder pedals play nice with my X52? Anybody got a lead on the Saitek pedals? I have had my X52 for over ten trouble free years and really would like to buy their pedals, but this is ridiculous. Any help or insight is appreciated.
