  1. I had a similar problem which turned out was caused by my twist grip saitek having some play in it ad causing spurious inputs. I found the problem after someone here suggested using the Right control and enter keys which brings up a box showing what inputs your stick/pedal etc are putting in. Worth a look if only to check your gear is accurate. drummer
  2. Thanks Macka, downloading it now! cheers drummer
  3. Just to add to the discussion: I have the original downloaded Russian version which I have managed to convert to Quasi English version by switching folders downloaded from modders websites. The voices say English words in Russian accents which I find acceptable. Menus, missions and written scripts are also in english, the only thing i dont have is english switch tabs in cockpit, although the cursor over the switch comes up in english. This set up will do me until boxed retail version is available in the UK [want a hard copy as opposed to another download] so i guess what you want is possible you just need to seek it out. :)
  4. Thanks Cy, that seemed to work. I kept updating until i could update no more and it has now stopped reporting it as a virus! Great! I do like Jesse's script as it is functional, easy and pretty, so hats off to him to. Thanks again Cy drummer:drunk:
  5. Hi thanks for your suggestion. I have searched the AVG website but can't find any updated exe files, do you know where I might be able to get it? I have the virus data base updated daily. thanks drummer
  6. Hi, I downloaded and used Jesse's program for about a week which worked great and was easy to use. Today i found it was deleted from my windows and wheni tried to re download it my AVG anti virus kept reporting a virus and would not allow to overide it. I see on Jesse's page that this might be a false reporting problem with some anti virus softeware. Any one else have this problem and a work around, as it is so good i want to keep using it? ! thanks drummer
  7. you also need to throw salt over your shoulder, click you heels and say out loud 'we're not in Georgia anymore toto' and stroke a lucky rabbits foot [although obviously wasn't so lucky for the rabbit] that and all the above answers works for me ;)
  8. Thanks for your inputs so far. Of course I forgot to add that my opinion is based on my own limited flying capabilities, so those limitations have to be factored in and yes, I have to admit i am very much still learning to flight /fly the machine. I take your points on the age of when the system was designed and also the auto pilot functions that make the pilot life easier but still not as easy as some of the double crewed helis out there. any other opinions to throw into the discusion?
  9. Having had the sim a month or so and slowly geting to grips with it, I am interested in the simmer communities assesment of the KA50. Assuming ED have done a good job in modelling the ka50 and given the detail no reason to doubt the accuracy, what do you think of it as a combat machine? As an interested simmer/ layman, I actually don't rate the ka50 very highly for the following reasons. 1. It is single seat giving a high pilot workload when flying/fighting 2. Limitations in its performance and handling ie relatively low Vne speed for modern heli and rotor clipping etc. 3. Low tech sensors and radars 4. svkal operation and performance. This is not a question about the quality of the sim but the KA50. Feel free to agree/disagree or add your own assesment of the capabilities/weaknesses of the machine drummer
  10. I use the F10 key as my IFF. I think of it as a visual representation of AWACs or forward air controller communications. It still needs cross checking several times with your heading and location but worth it for the peace of mind avoiding blue on blue.
  11. hi, can you point me in the direction of the exe file? I can only the launcher exe and not the dcs.exe file? thanks:helpsmilie:
  12. the trouble with flying a chinese version is that half an hour after landing you want to fly another....
  13. ouch! :music_whistling:
  14. well i am glad i asked the question now as i wasn't the only one on the planet needing the answer! happy christmas heli fans love from drummer
  15. okay, my head is hanging so much in shame i can't even read the screen! thanks for your replies! happy christmas
  16. My question is yet another autopilot question that I can't find with the search function, in the stickies or the producers notes. I do not seem to be able to get the autopilot to engage and fly to waypoints despite a lot of button stabbing and a lot of reading.:megalol: The producers note goes through all the autopilot blue button functions then he says go ahead and engage the autopilot...thats the bit i don't get. I am hovering over the airfield. I select the waypoint mode on the numberpad and a waypoint and the red co orordinates numbers come on the display. I select heading/bank/pitch blue auotpilot buttons. I toggle the three way heading/track selector switch but still the heli wont fly to the waypoint selected. something obvious i am missing but the question is how do i 'turn on' the whole autopilot function or some other method..or should i take a stick and beat the ka 50 before take off :helpsmilie: and yes that is my photgraph..i am only 2 years old
  17. I am hoping for another he;icopter module and one which is prettier than the KA50. Also the a10 has already been done by Ed quite well, what is to be imrpoved when other helis have yet to be modelled. If Inhad to vote then the hind is both exciting, never been done and actaully looks like a helicopter should.. grr thanks for listening and happy christmas.. i am off for some therapy
  18. for wombat and phrophet; i tried running with the scripts but i got worse fps and a couple of lengthy sutters. Not complaining just thought it might of use to you clever types who write computer stuff. [i have intel quad core processeor] mary xmas love drummer
  19. in case it helps with your troubleshooting, the left alt and c key works for me and as a bonus enabled my version 2 tir to work in black shark. Okay, I don't get the 6 dof freedom but i can look around the cocpit. [cant but a v 4 as santa has one for me] The manat natural point thought this wouldn't work at all, so a bonus! drummer
  20. hind attack helo, apache or cobra..the other fixewd wings have all been done before. time for us rotor heads to get some!
  21. Hi, well thanks for your input. I have also had a personal message from a TIR representative who explained that version 1 & 2 have different hardware and are not supported in BS. A pity as i understood it would not be 6dof but just wanted the head movement till xmas. Still find it difficult to fathom as my old v2 still moves the cursor around the cockpit, why it can't move the views is really beyond my non techy brain. I could go and buy an update now but family are clamouring for gift ideas so i have to wait. maybe those kind NP will offer me a discounted upgrade as a long standing customer:music_whistling: I SAID MAYBE THOSE KIND......... DRUMMER ;)
  22. well that is an unpleasant surprise! I didn't expect much from the old version 2 but for it to at least work as inteneded until the xmas spendingfest was over and a version 4 arrived. I did write to them telling what i wanted it for and what was the latest version software I cold use with it and then propmtly replies with v3.13 Are you saying they deliberatley 'broke it' for some commercial reason? Is so then I shall be them strking off my xmas list and going down the freeview route. thanks for your help drummer
  23. I have a tir question perhaps you can help with as it is probably just something i have missed. I have dusted off my tir version 2 and installed the correct software from natural point. It works fine on desktop and will also move the cursor around the cockpit inBS but i can 't get it move the view/headmovement? I am obviously having a dumb day so could someone point me in the right direction please? also do i need a profile as such for tir or can i just use any stock one for BS. I know i wont get the full 6dof with v2 but it will have to do until santa has been! thanks drummer
  24. I guess I could put he in the 'simpit' and tell her she was going to fly a lengthy night mission! with mid air refuelling i could keep her there for weeks! :music_whistling:
  25. I think mother inlaws go into rock, then yes i agree! :music_whistling:
