  1. Purchased 860 Evo, reinstall and no stutters. I stand grateful and very corrected too the benefit of the SSD in DCS. Thank You! Should be in minimum reqs, though :-) Cheers!
  2. Tanks thanks! Thats constructive I guess, but it doesnt solve why you cant lower the settings and get rid of stutters. I´v read several posts about stutters on supermachines and >SSD and low settings and still STUTTERS. Thats why I say its broken. Dont get me wrong. I´d love to play, but hate to update too SSD and find 25 fps and stutters on low settings in MP or a heavy mission just because its porly optimized.
  3. I run Xplane, Arma 3, Project cars 2 from harddrive >NO STUTTERS. Dcs is broken and I feel sry when I see the community needing to do deep research to fix something devs should do. Optimize FTW.

  5. Now you mention it, I remember it. You are correct and the thing is then crystalclear. Thank you!
  6. Think of the dream to be able to consider 10nm wvr without binos in dcs. :-) One can only hope for the future.
  7. Thx! As u certainly know, one other sim is using lods ofc that keep airplaneshape the hole way and at a certain distance it changes just that contrast of the skin/polycolour, that with something called smartscaling that scales up the size at a given distance so and so much gives what to me is recieved as something that is able to simulate real world IMHO very well. I cant understand why this is such a hard thing to do right, but thats because I know so little about it ofc. :-) Cheers! /Jaws
  8. You refereing to this:http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0005594 ? If you have some other study on the matter, plz share it. As I read this and precieve DCS visibility, they are´nt even close to real world. I can make out nose position and aspect at max 1.0 nm. A leadturn setup is more or less impossible. Please dont bring binoculours into the discussion. It has and will never be a valid way of simulating modern air combat. This is actually the factor why I dont fully convert right now from another sim. Otherwise its AMAZING! Cheers! /Jaws
  9. [ame] [/ame] You all know it ofc... One tells bandit at 6miles and 1 sec later, one of the 2, f14 pilots has Tally on the 2 bandits. I assume under the circumstances that the two f14's are not that separated so that one of them are much closer to the migs then the other?, Are they using tarps to achieve that Tally? What u guys think?

  11. Dogfight? Beautiful pictures of a beautiful aircraft, but Dogfight is an overstatement. All I see in that vid is 10 sec of poorly performed defensive ACM. When this swedish tiger is released, I´l give you some Dogfightvids to watch. :-) Cant wait! Cheers! /Jaws
  12. "Basic Example of a LOD system for a typical object LOD0 is a normal size high poly geometry for 0m-30m LOD1 is a normal size low poly geometry for 30m-3000m LOD2 is a box geometry 50% larger than normal for 3000m-10000m LOD3 is a box geometry 100% larger than normal for 10000m-50000m" This is mainly how "another" sim is using lods to compensate. Distances is set to produce visibility of an f16 high aspect, same altitude at aprox 4 nm WITHOUT binos. That has proven to be enough for me. They use lods that has an airplaneshape, with less and less polygons, with unchanged scale. Ontop of that there is a scale up at certain distances that use x-times the normal. I have flown Falcon alot and have never seen any problem exept ofc that you can force a lod to load with ZOOM. I personally do not use binoculars when I fly the F16 and at those moments when visibility of an aircraft is life or death, I strongly believe that would be counterproductive. : [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j-yE2pUUZI[/ame] I dont care about what technic is used or if someone likes and wants to use binos when they fly. If zoom is important for alot of peps. Fine. Its not the most realistic way of compensation imo but I dont care if it stays. What is tested in 1.5.1 is definitly on the right track though insanely overdone on the scale-up. Its a test and will shurely be corrected. All I would like to have is enough visibility in wvr as in rl. To get visibility as in rl, sims needs to compensate enough in some way. That was NOT the case in 1.2. I am now for the first time enjoying fastmovers and bfm/acm in DCS. Have a nice day!
  13. I´m not taking sides in any way. Just want to point out that those numbers are from aircrafts at a collisioncourse, nose to nose at 0,30,45,90 degree aspect. Take care guys! /Jaws
  14. If anyone have an interest: :-) http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0005594 Cheers! /Jaws
  15. I have the same with all objects when at a treshold. I say: Up the distance even more for seeing any object and you will have a 5x better sim. The rest is awesome, really. It just all falls to pieces with this 1 setting. "You cant fight what you cant see" Clay
