  1. Dayton TT25's clacking When a transducer bottoms out, does it make a loud clack? I am trying to figure out why my new TT25-16s are clacking so much on the ground roll rumble. Could it be the amp clipping? They only do it when I use SimShaker, an online tone generator doesn't really cause it, maybe a little right at 40 Hz but nothing near as loud as SimShaker causes. Also when I adjust the "Test Sound Volume" it sends static along with the tone. It does this with any sound output I select, even my regular speakers. Is this normal? If feel like the clacking could be this static, a short burst whenever the volume changes quickly could make a clack noise. I am pretty new to this stuff, any ideas? I received the key too late last night so I couldn't really test the full version yet.
  2. Adjusted Levels Worked I just got home and tried adjusting the levels then I threw money at my screen. It didn't seem to work so I went to your shop and ordered it, I've emailed the string in and await my key. Great work! I can't wait to try out the full version. I'm going to order and hook up two more transducers for L/R channels.
  3. Using SSA beta with the sound module and DCS World 2.0 I have tested the A-10C and P-51D's quickstart takeoff missions. In both the taxi bumps are very fast as soon as I start rolling and do not change speed as I do. The bumps don't match up with my speed, they are way too fast. I was prepared to buy two more transducers and the key for the sound module today if I can get everything working correctly. I really enjoy the AoA effects, even if they start way too late, and look forward to seeing the others, but the ground bumps are an immersion breaker. F4I0 on the DCS forum said to check the levels because he added a ground roll effect. All the levels are at 50% by default. Does this mean they are equal in strength and the ground rumble is masking the bumps? If this is true, does anyone have a good config to share for a transducer setup that allows you to feel the separate effects at the same time? That would help a bunch of us out. Maybe a good one can be posted in the FAQ too? Maybe I am doing something wrong and they are all supposed to be at the same level?
  4. I just got the amp and transducers in today, wired them up, and attached them to my chair. I am using the SimShaker Beta with Sound in free demo mode. I have tested the A-10C and P-51D's quickstart takeoff missions. In both the taxi bumps are very fast as soon as I start rolling and do not change speed as I do. The bumps don't match up with my speed, they are too fast. I was prepared to buy two more transducers and the key for the sound module today if I can get everything working correctly. I really enjoy the stall effects and look forward to seeing the others, but the landing bumps are an immersion breaker. I read through all the pages here a few days ago and thought I saw someone with the same problem but can't find it. I think I remember a reboot fixing it for him. It didn't for me.
  5. I would like to know your source for that bottleneck information. Not that I don't believe you, I just have been curious about that for a few years now. My HDK2 should be here early next week, I will post back and let you guys know how it goes. I just got back from Best Buy, I tried out their Rift CV1 demo and I had a DK2 for a year so I can compare it to those two. I tried and failed to get the guy to install DCS World for the demo, which was pretty lame. I am probably going to pick up a 1060 and overclock it instead of the planned 1070.
  6. Any updates? I am about to pull the trigger on a HDK2 but I need to know if it will work with DCS standalone (non-steam). I have purchased too many planes that wont transfer to the steam version and this sim is the primary reason I am looking at the HDK2. I used the oculus DK2 and it was amazing in DCS world, but the screen was bad resolution. Secondary games/sims would be FSX, X-Plane, War Thunder, Elite Dangerous, and maybe some racing games :joystick: :pilotfly:. Is the tracking fixed well enough to be, at least, as accurate as the Oculus DK2? Does it having an RGB screen actually make a noticeable difference over the CV1 and Vive? Will my i7 920 oced to 3.8 Ghz, 12 GB of ram, and GTX 1070 be enough to power this without lag (I am OK with turning down some graphics settings)? Does the HDK2 have any kind of async timewarp tech (or is it planned) that will help if my computer is underpowered? There is so little information out there about this headset used in DCS...
  7. I still have this bug after hotfix 3. I don't think it is FPS related in my case, it starts in the main menu.
  8. Getting worse? Maybe I was just lucky at first. Now it has the flickering black problem on the right side of the rift 9 out of 10 starts. It appears right away in the first menu and continues into the flight. The 1 out of 10 when it doesn't have the flickering bars the other "DCS has stopped working" bug destroys my chances of a non-headache inducing flight. I have to try for nearly half an hour, rolling the dice with these bugs before I get a good flight. Windows 7 64 bit, i7 920 @ 3.8Ghz, GTX 660, Rift DK2 on SDK 0.7.0.0. -edit: DCS Standalone version. 9. Same here. I just posted this under "view systems" section before I found this post. I think it fits better there vs this "multi-monitor support" section. It appears to only be the right half of the rift with this problem. It starts in the main menu and continues into the flight. I am using a oculus rift DK2 with SDK 0.7.0.0. I have an i7 920 @ 3.8 Ghz, with a Geforce 660 updated to latest drivers. Yesterday I was able to fix the problem once by exiting DCS and cycling the rift on and off then restarting DCS. Today that didn't work. I tried cycling the power 3 times with no luck. I decided to try some other things and started DCS up without cycling the rift and it worked this time... It appears to be another bug with DCS. I think just quitting and restarting DCS until it works correctly is the solution. Also DCS always crashes the first time I load up a mission and works when I restart DCS and load the mission again (when using the rift).
