Thanks Chucles. Do you have a reference for the symbology? I looked in the pocket guide and could not find it.

Thanks. So are they hostile radars or any radars ?

Thanks Stonehouse, I must have downloaded an earlier version because all my .lua files had nothing like that. Anyway, Strut sent me the new files and all is good in the world. See my screenshot above :) Cheers, Speedbird

HI Stonehouse, I am getting the problem on all the Mirage liveries shown below. The problem is also showing the incorrect roundels on the wings. The decals seem to be from the French Airforce Mirages. Can you post all your updated description.lua files for all the Mirages. If not, how do you modify each one? For example, how would you modify the one for A3_20_75_Sqn_RAAF Mirage I have never made a livery so not sure what to change for each one. Thanks.

Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread
speedbird5 replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in DCS Modding
Hi, I am using Version 1.7 I am trying to get better height data into DCS by downloading .hgt files from here: http://www.viewfinderpanoramas.org/Coverage%20map%20viewfinderpanoramas_org3.htm Where do I put these files for DCS to use ? I have tried : C:\ProgramData\Tacview\Data\Terrain\SRTM3 and C:\ProgramData\Tacview\Data\Terrain\DCS World But neither of them seems to change the terrain elevation detail. I followed this video here: But even when I tried to change the elevation for the example island given in that video (Reunion Island) it wouldn't work. -
Aluminium Joystick/HOTAS table mounts - Monster Tech
speedbird5 replied to meisterolsen's topic in For Sale
Hi meisterolsen, I really like the look of your products but I have some suggestions. The problem with the joy stick mounts is they are too short and the stick ends up being too high for realistic control for a stick mounted between the pilots legs. If you have flown a real fighter (I have done so), the stick is mounted just above thigh height (see images below). This gives a far more natural throw of the stick and importantly, when flying formation, you rest your forearm on your thigh which gives far more precise control. So, seated in your chair, the top two thirds (maybe a bit more) of the stick grip, would be above the top of your thigh. So, in my opinion, the adjustable height (from top of desk to base plate mount) would have to be at least 350 mm for the standard Thrustmaster Warthog joystick and for the forthcoming VKB Gunfighter MCG Pro with the extension, it would have to be at least 550 mm to allow for different seat heights and thigh heights. Do you make custom lengths for the mounts? See the images below. -
Possible fix for crash - Uninstall Riva Tuner
speedbird5 replied to speedbird5's topic in Game Crash
It may well be. Hmmm. Interesting. -
See this post for a possible fix... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=202594

Hi, I was getting consistent crashes in 2.5.0 I traced the problem to Riva Tuner which provides as on screen overlay of CPU/GPU usage etc. I uninstalled Riva Tuner and the crashes ceased, so this may be a fix for those using Riva Tuner. Note, MSI Afterburner comes with an option to install Riva Tuner. If you install both, when you start MSI Afterburner, Riva Tuner starts automatically. I could not find a way of stopping the Riva Tuner from starting. I tried to close it down once it had started but it re-started automatically. I would opt to install it without Riva Tuner and then use MSI Afterburner to overclock your GPU, or uninstall Riva Tuner from the control panel if you have both installed.

Hi, DCS 2.5.0.14138.317 A simple, single player, single F-15 mission with two transports. No mods. Cleanup and repair carried out. Towards end, screen freezes, sound still going, then "DCS stopped working" message. Logs attached. Last Mission Track attached but not sure if it corresponds. Logs.zip LastMissionTrack.trk

No brainer for me. Pre-ordered in 1 millisecond. Support EDs development.

Inside view of TM HOTAS Warthog
speedbird5 replied to Frazer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is for anyone thinking of buying a TM Warthog... When I pulled my joystick apart and this is what I found (see the red arrows below). See how the radius of the part where the pressure ring used to sit is not a uniform radius? How on earth can TM expect their O-Ring to stay in place when this is the starting point? I tried to push the plastic areas indicated by the red arrows out so that the radius was uniform, but the plastic would not budge. This is nothing but extremely poor quality control and/or design. If they addressed this issue they would get rid of half their problems with this stick. I cannot recommend this stick to anyone. -
Is there a way to have visuals and avionics separate?
speedbird5 replied to speedbird5's topic in Home Cockpits
OK, I have looked at Helios, but can Helios it offload the avionics to one computer and can you then offload the external visuals to another. All the implementations of Helios I have seen seem to be on one computer. -

Hi, I am trying to export the VSD (radar scope) , HUD and weapons load indicator from the F-15C. For example, the A-10C directory for exporting the HUD indicator is: ....\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts\HUD\Indicator But which directories are the F-15 VSD, HUD and weapons load indicators in ? And where are the other Flaming Cliff indicator files located as well? (A-10A, Su-27, Su-33, MiG-29A, MiG-29S, Su-25T, and Su-25)

Hi, I want to build a home cockpit with a large wrap around (200 degrees field of view) curved screen about 3 meters in diameter and 2 meters high. For performance, I want the following: Using one computer, I want to project only the outside view onto that screen using three high def projectors. On an separate computer, I want to have the avionics running. Is it possible to separate these processes and have them run on separate computers in DCS World? If so, can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Hi Matbog, In your cockpit photo here: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNpXoAMUBrWl7ftE0OHJYg0BLTEKbDB0A2FBzxavwqtFoi1gFJmAr0kB4d8wUMYDA/photo/AF1QipPcctZcMBWkIHRK4Z59tTZPabuTo6Ku2nvkx8jP?key=MnJiTWRZOFlJcWVlUVZCUWZrUF93bUlFUmUwR0dR is the hud projected on the computer monitor or is the hud projected on the glass of the physical hud? Is the view on the monitor from ALT + F1 ? How did you hide the rest of the virtual cockpit but leave the refuelling probe visible?
-
I did that on the Mirage and Alt+F1 gives me the hud and kneeboard. if you then press k to get rid of the kneeboard, you see a projection of the radar as well as the hud. So you don't think it is possible to have it without the hud?
