  1. oops! lol. Neither will be necessary for me, though. I don't read those "locally" localized materials anyway. Original materials are just fine.
  2. Well yea forget the idea of Chinese writing. I read about complains regarding the lack of a Chinese version all the time on a local LO forum. And there would be dozens of replies asking the author to learn English before trying to fly. Being a Chinese speaker I know how difficult it is for Chinese characters to fit in a foreign cockpit. So I'd rather have the thing coming in its original way - Russian or English - I don't care. It's realism we're talking about, not a simplified, "friendly" interface. BTW, LOMAC and LOFC manuals and hundreds of related materials have already been translated into Chinese by local fliers, including Art of The Kill. So there's no need for original developers to waste time in translation. A good product doesn't need much excessive decoration.
  3. Middle of 08, not exactly a bad news. It will give me more time to prepare a new gaming set for this sim.
  4. Wow I bet he's gotta paid a LOT for that equipment.
  5. "a desirable or intended objective" well I guess this objective is simply a complete BS addon software release before deadline. Since ED hasn't made the deadline very specific, I will call it a success as long as BS is released with all the features as promised.
  6. Thanks for your warm welcome, but what is a Gimpy? General Purpose Machine Gun?
  7. I got it wrong. I thought Lock On could generate separate image windows and output them to applications like TB. Now it sounds like a lotta programing must be done to make sure the TB display content is identical to the corresponding area inside Lock On cockpit. I have no idea if LUA supports such complicated transmission. Talking about LUA, a close friend of mine from Embaer who's working in China once told me about his idea - building a gyroscopic simulator. Though it was too costly to get started, it made me do a little online search on data feed back, and it is how I discovered this LUA script. I've never been a good programer, so it will take quite a long time before I can actually understand how it works and what it's capable of doing.
  8. Cool! Now that's fantastic. I've been to the LUA site, and I knew that sooner or later someone was ganna use it to enhance Lock On beyond its original capabilities. I like it coz it's open source. Presumably after Black Shark is released, the huge nav chart MFD will be supported by TB too. Keystrokes are passed to the game by the operating system, so I'm not worried about it at all. But virtual panels are generated by the game, is multiple image transmission likely to slow down the game? Alex, Regards!
  9. Yea I remember, and yes keyboard commands are clumsy. But it's from you that I hear ggg87 has got a whole bunch of screens setup. Man! I gotta pay him a visit.:D Thank you for all the explainations. There's one more question I'd like to ask - does the game feed any data back to TB? Like the one inside the pic where an F-15 radar screen is placed down there. Is it synchronized with the radar monitor in the game? Sorry for asking so many questions, coz I just haven't got a secondary monitor to try it for myself.
  10. Thanks! I used to live in Harbin, where a lot of Russians would love to visit. Smart people, great simulator. And awesome aircrafts!
  11. Hey Bill. Thanks for the introduction. I just checked the site from your signiture. From the picture in the middle of the page(the one with 3 virtual panels below the monitor), TB looks pretty neat. And excluding the small LCD's, it's just a software, right? I'd love to give it a try later, coz I've got one PC and one monitor for now. Next one I'm ganna buy should contain triple monitors and it will be hooked up with my current PC. I'm also planning to install dual graphic cards WITHOUT SLI or crossfire configuration. Given that most good graphic cards have dual heads on them, this new PC will have quad head configuration. The first output will be connected to three monitors via a Matrox Triple-Head-2-Go. So there will be three outputs left for spare use. I may get three 5-inch TFT's with touch panels, and connect them to those spare graphic outputs. Touch panel interface will be connected through USB ports. Would you consider this a valid hardware configuration? Regards, Alex
  12. :)Hey that's an electric KT biplane, must have great maneuverability. What radio system do you use? Currently I've got Futaba T9CHP for my heli. I'll think about getting an extra RX and a few more servos for an electric heli, but definitely not quite soon. For now, please meet my Raptor 30v2 in the pic below:D. Anyway this forum is dedicated for flight sims, I don't think it's the right place to talk about r/c. Maybe using pm is a better idea. Regards, Alex
  13. Nice talking to yall! Gotta get off this for a while coz I got something to handle. I'll be back in a few hours. It's really a pleasure to meet you all. Regards, Alex
  14. Yup, your assumption was correct! Wow! That's a lot to check. I'd love to dig this forum upside down to find out what you mentioned. Sounds pretty cool! Touchcreen interface is exactly what I was talking about. I can get various TFT screens with touch panel at 640X480 or higher resolutions. I may be able to interface them with my PC through VGA connection. But still got no idea how to connect 4 or more mini MFD's two a computer which has already got 3 huge monitors connected to it. A lotta lessons to have.
  15. Hey Glowing Amraam! I really love your Prj50 movie and etc. Way to go!! It's an exciting job to creat such works of art, keep it up man!
  16. Hi all, I've registered on the lomac official site for a year or so, but hadn't been able to register for these forums till yesterday. So you've got a new guy here. I've been flying combat sims for 9 years, Raptor 30 RC helicopter for 4 years, and been building electronic stuff for 12 years. Lock On is the best combat flight sim I've ever bought, and I'm really looking forward to exchanging ideas regarding this fine piece of work with you guys. Well, that's some info about myself. Since I'm an electronic engineer, the issue I'm most interested in is hardware. Learning about computer hardware is a major task for me. Besides, I'd be REAL glad if there's someone willing to discuss peripheral DIY, like customizing a control panel or things like MFD for better realisim and convenience. Regards, Alex
