  1. So the only thing we need to do is modify the default.vrsettings file to set renderTargetScale to 2.0, correct? I've set my ss in SteamVR to 210% as recommended by the dev in the reddit thread.
  2. @Gryzor - On your steam community thread you recommend modifying the steam.vrsettings file like so: "compositor" : { "renderTargetMultiplier" : 2 }, instead of 1. I don't have those lines in my steam.vrsettings file. Should I add them or is it not needed?
  3. Thanks, I hadn't noticed that update on the first post.
  4. I seemed to have recently developed CTD issues as well. What version of reshade are you running? I'm running 4.02 (latest). Will try repair/clean..
  5. Mustang, You might have already discovered this but the issue with your mod in the latest open beta release is the texture file names. Apparently DCS is no longer accepting file names like *.tga.dds and *.bmp.dds. Temp workaround is to rename any file names to simply *.dds and then textures are working.
  6. Well I got it working. Not sure exactly what did it. I disabled my secondary display in NVCP, rebooted, then re-enabled it and then G-sync windowed mode started working. I also enabled v-sync in NVCP as suggested in this thread.. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1045242/geforce-drivers/windows-april-update-1803-rs4-quot-spring-creators-quot-windowed-g-sync-is-broken/ I have to lock fps at 60 to make trackir smooth so I'm not sure how useful g-sync is with DCS.
  7. Just some more testing from my side and I can get the G-sync indicator to come on in DCS windowed mode but it's clearly not working... tons of stuttering. I'm on Windows 10 1803 and Nvidia driver 417.22. Guppy, what version of Windows 10 are you running and Nvidia driver? I've heard there's issues with windowed G-sync since the 1803 update.
  8. G-Sync works fine for me in Fullscreen and Windowed mode, just not in DCS when I'm spanning the display to a non-gsync monitor. I'm using just an export lua to export two of the hornet's MFD's to a 13-inch 1920x1080p display. Primary display is 32-inch 2560x1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor. My resolution while exporting is 2560x2520. If I alt-enter it enters full screen mode and scrunches everything back onto my primary and the G-sync indicator is toggled. Here's a pic of my setup. I should be seeing the g-sync indicator like this...
  9. Can you toggle the g-sync indicator on in NVCP and confirm it's working? I can't get it to work while exporting to a second non-gsync display even when enabling windowed mode.
  10. I run DCS on a 8700k/1080TI/32gb rig and I'd love to see some benchmark tests in DCS from someone with a 2080TI and a 1080TI. Right now I'm not seeing the value in upgrading to the 2080TI. I might even skip this generation unless prices come back down to earth.
  11. I tried a variety of 4k TV's before settling on the LG 32GK850G-B gaming monitor. The two main things to consider with TV vs monitor is resolution and VRR (variable refresh rate) technology. Any TV you buy today is going to be native 4k resolution and hard to find with VRR. To get 4k to run at a smooth 60 fps is a chore even for a GTX 1080 TI. I personally crave smoothness in my flight sims so I went with a 32 inch 1440p 144hz G-sync monitor. You can maintain higher fps easier at 1440p then you can at 4k. VRR (freesync or G-sync) comes in when your fps dips below your monitor's refresh rate. It makes the stuttering much less noticeable then v-sync. The other thing I like about the LG monitor I have is that it has a VA panel instead of IPS. The VA panel produces much better blacks and therefore is much nicer for night flying. If you're going the TV route check out the 2018 Samsung lineup. They have freesync and some even can run at 1440p @ 120hz. Keep in mind that freesync only works with AMD video cards and G-sync with Nvidia. No TV's have G-sync... yet.
  12. NICE simpit! Are you able to run this with g-sync enabled on your primary display with all the MFD exporting going on there?
  13. There's so many variables that affect performance. What resolution do you run at?
  14. I was running MSAA x2 + SSAA 1.5 before but switched to MSAA x4. While I was able maintain 60 fps most of the time with SSAA on, sometimes fps would just randomly dive into the 20's and 30's. I'll try it again with the latest patch and see if it's any better. MSAA x4 seems to be running nicely.
  15. Thanks, it's amazing the difference these textures make over the low res stock ones. I'm working on making my own set of cirrus clouds that hopefully I can release as a mod. The only thing that is annoying me is how the cirrus clouds fade in and out every few minutes. I haven't found any way to change that in the config files yet.
  16. 2k Cirrus clouds Experimenting with some different 2048x2048 cirrus cloud textures....
  17. There seems to be a significant performance increase in the latest beta. I've been flying around for the last hour with heavy clouds, fog, mirrors etc. and I haven't seen a single stutter. TrackIR panning with mirrors on is even smooth (@60 fps lock). Anyone else noticing this? I'm running MSAA x4 @ 1440p with mostly high settings. i7-8700K/1080 TI/32 GB system.
  18. This is exactly what I did and also solved the problem.
  19. I'm running MSI Afterburner 4.5.0 and I also have trackir issues with it. If AB is running and I launch trackir it corrupts the display in the trackir console (see attach pic). I also get trackir freezing and becoming unresponsive occasionally in DCS with AB running. Hopefully there's a solution for this. Maybe I'll try switching over to EVGA Precision XOC instead.
  20. You're right, inversion artifact shouldn't show in the screenshot so I'm certain it's a DCS bug with the new transparent water. Old style water in Caucasus map doesn't have the same problem. I've tried several different monitors and TVs over the last couple years for DCS and the LG 32GK850G is my favorite so far. I run it at 60hz, fps locked at 60 and with Gsync its very smooth. Much better fps with 1440p vs 4k also. 100% scaling is pretty much perfect at 1440p with 32 inch as well.
  21. Has it been reported as a bug? I've only started seeing this since the last update or two.
  22. @petsild Thanks for the tip, unfortunately setting AF to 8x doesn't resolve the issue. The only two things that fix it are setting resolution to 1080p or enabling MSAA 2x + SSAA 1.5. - I was thinking it was pixel inversion on my monitor I was seeing but now I think it's just a DCS bug. Since the last update or two SSAA performance has gotten better. I'm able to run MSAA 2x and SSAA 1.5 and maintain 60 fps @ 1440p. It looks great so I'll stick with this option for now. It appears the new transparent water in the PG map is bugged. Hopefully ED will acknowledge this. I'll wait and see if some more people show up and can confirm the issue @1440p.
  23. Actually, if I set my resolution to 1080p on my 32GK850G I don't see the issue either. I'm still confused as to whether it's DCS or something to do with my monitor. I'm only getting the problem at 1440p though.
  24. More testing and this appears to be pixel inversion artifacts on my LG 32GK850G display.:mad::mad: The inversion test on testufo.com is a blurry mess with vertical lines on the LG. I tested with two other 1080p displays I have and can't reproduce the issue so it doesn't appear to be a DCS bug.
  25. OK, this seems to be related to the water detail level. At low I get no lines but flashing textures on the water. Medium and High settings produce the vertical lines shown in my screenshot.
