Barthek's CAUCASUS REDONE 2022
bandit648 replied to Barthek's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
I think it's too dark. The real runways aren't black asphalt like that unless they've been freshly resurfaced. Belsan was resurfaced in 2012 based on the satellite imagery and it was only black for a short period of time. Here's how they look now. -

Hi Barthek, The runways at Beslan and Sukhumi are too dark. Any way to fix this? -

Just spent some time touring the different seasons. FANTASTIC work Barthek. I love the aircraft shelter textures also. Now, if we can just get @Taz1004 to make a version of his trees for this... -

I've wanted this for so long! I can't wait to test it out, it looks great! -
Barthek's CAUCASUS REDONE 2022

Thank you Barthek for the latest update. The spring textures look great. The only thing I'd change is the tree textures. Maybe collaborate with @Taz1004? His trees look amazing with your work. Also I'd add a heavier snow cover to the mountain peaks for spring. -

Hi @Barthek I've been using your 2020 texture mod since release. I'm really impressed with the 2021 preview and look forward to seeing the other seasons. I'm running it with @Taz1004 Tree's and runway textures and @Mustang Shader Mod. It looks stunning! I keep coming back to Caucuses map even though I have all of the other maps. One thing I'd like to see with the winter season is snow in the mountains but dry farmlands in the lower elevations. I think this would look much more realistic since I don't think the Caucuses region typically looks like the Arctic in real life. Thanks for all your hard work in making this mod. I'd really like to see ED collaborate with you guys in updating the Caucuses map. -
I've been plagued by this issue as well and have tried everything in this thread. Like others I'd change something and think it fixed it as the crashes would disappear for a couple days but then would come back. Today I discovered something that I can consistently reproduce the mission reload crashed with. Preload Radius @ 150000 = Crash Preload Radius @ 100000 = No Crash I can switch between these settings, restart the game and at 150000 I get a crash every time on the second reload. I'll keep testing but this seems to be the trigger on my system. EDIT: More testing and it appears not to be related to the preload setting it self, but changing the setting and restarting the game. The crashes are so random its driving me insane. I hope ED can find a solution.

DCS 2.7 Detailed 4K Benchmark with Settings
bandit648 replied to Hiob's topic in Game Performance Bugs
OK.. here are my latest results. I DDU'd 465.89 and reinstalled 466.11. I also set NVCP Texture Quality to Clamp/High Performance, re-enabled Resizable Bar and disabled some non-essential background services. I'm getting some better results now. Hiob's Custom "Medium" settings 27-04-2021, 11:40:36 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 13832 frames rendered in 139.469 s Average framerate : 99.1 FPS Minimum framerate : 89.3 FPS Maximum framerate : 117.5 FPS 1% low framerate : 88.9 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 83.6 FPS Hiob's Custom "Max Quality" settings 27-04-2021, 11:29:04 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 9819 frames rendered in 139.953 s Average framerate : 70.1 FPS Minimum framerate : 63.5 FPS Maximum framerate : 81.6 FPS 1% low framerate : 63.2 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 61.5 FPS -
DCS 2.7 Detailed 4K Benchmark with Settings
bandit648 replied to Hiob's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I had Resize Bar enabled in BIOS and NVInspector for DCS but it didn't seem to do any good for me. I had downgraded to 465.89 while troubleshooting another issue so I'm going reinstall 466.11 and check some other things. I will re-run the benchmarks shortly. -
DCS 2.7 Detailed 4K Benchmark with Settings
bandit648 replied to Hiob's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I'm still troubleshooting this as well. I had Resizable Bar enable previously but disabled it before running benchmarks. Other things to note- NVIDIA Driver version: 465.89 Windows Pro 20H2 KB5001330 is installed NVCP Settings are default except Perfer Max performance The texture filtering settings might explain the difference in 0.1% Low numbers. I was set at Allow/Quality. What Nvidia driver version are you on? -
DCS 2.7 Detailed 4K Benchmark with Settings
bandit648 replied to Hiob's topic in Game Performance Bugs
@Hiob Here are my results. I had some background services for Corsair and Asus running that I think affected my 0.1% lows before. This is a great way to fine tune performance. I really like your benchmark track. With Hiob's "Medium" Settings 27-04-2021, 08:21:55 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 13682 frames rendered in 139.328 s Average framerate : 98.1 FPS Minimum framerate : 88.2 FPS Maximum framerate : 115.7 FPS 1% low framerate : 87.1 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 77.5 FPS With Hiob's "Maximum" Settings 27-04-2021, 08:32:58 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 9509 frames rendered in 138.844 s Average framerate : 68.4 FPS Minimum framerate : 62.1 FPS Maximum framerate : 79.1 FPS 1% low framerate : 61.6 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 57.9 FPS I like your balanced settings and might start there and tweak it to my liking. I normally run capped at 60 FPS to get the smoothest TrackIR panning. Oh and yes, the LG OLED48CX is glorious! I have a Reverb G2 but don't even bother with it these days. DCS looks so beautiful on the OLED48CX and I don't have to hassle with VR settings every day. Here's a picture of my rig.. -

Thanks for doing this. It's always nice to see what kind of performance people are getting in 4K. Here's my results with your medium settings. System specs are- i9-10900K @ 5.2Ghz 64 GB RAM CL 16 @ 3600Mhz RTX 3090 Founder's Edition | +120/400Mhz LG OLED48CX 26-04-2021, 21:54:06 DCS.exe benchmark completed, 14916 frames rendered in 148.969 s Average framerate : 100.1 FPS Minimum framerate : 88.8 FPS Maximum framerate : 116.8 FPS 1% low framerate : 85.5 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 68.2 FPS -
Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this gsync microsutter problem all of a sudden. I used to run my system at 120hz, Gsync ON, Vsync OFF and the NVCP fps limiter at 60 fps. Previously this would deliver butter smooth TrackIR. Now, with Gsync ON I get microstutters. I've tried every possible combination of settings and Gsync just appears to be broken. Only solution for me is to run with Gsync OFF and Vsync ON in NVCP and cap at 60 fps. Back to nice smooth TrackIR. I'm not sure what broke it but I believe this issue started a few NVIDIA driver updates ago. I'm curious what GPU, monitor and driver versions you guys are runnning? I'm on.. LG 48OLEDCX (G-Sync Compatible) RTX 3090 FE Nvidia Driver: 466.11

Thanks, I tried that earlier and it still doesn't work. I'm just running MSAA 4x and it looks incredibly sharp.

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know how to place parked static or uncontrolled aircraft with the canopy open, intake covers and cockpit ladder deployed like seen in the picture below?
-
Same here, and I'm also running at 2160p resolution. Maybe they disabled it for 4K?

THANK YOU ED for delivering 2.7, it's simply stunning. This is going a great year for DCS. I just built this new RTX 3090 rig in anticipation of 2.7 and couldn't be happier with the results.

EXPERIMENTAL: Resizable BAR in DCS for NVIDIA RTX 30 Series GPUs
bandit648 replied to ShaunX's topic in Virtual Reality
I have the Z590 Maximus XIII Hero. Rebar support was available at launch. Yes, I enabled it the BIOS and then you can verify its working in the NVCP system information. There's an option at the top of the menu bar in the BIOS to enable it. I got the Maximus XIII Hero right when it launched and the option was there even with original BIOS. -
EXPERIMENTAL: Resizable BAR in DCS for NVIDIA RTX 30 Series GPUs
bandit648 replied to ShaunX's topic in Virtual Reality
I just tested this after enabling rebar support and from my results I don't think it's making any difference in DCS. I used a track file I created for benchmarks that features a heavy combat scene to stress the GPU. I re-ran this several times with the rebar settings on vs off. Highlighted in green below is rebar=on in Nvidia Inspector. Running the latest open beta @ 4k resolution. correct as is zsu-57-2 time fusing
bandit648 replied to twistking's topic in Ground AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
The UOR-281U is being used in the DCS ZSU-57-2 according the lua file. Information available online suggests that the UOR-281 had a self destruct function to prevent them from falling back to earth and cause damage. Seems like this effect is missing? https://military.wikia.org/wiki/57_mm_AZP_S-60 -
I'm having issues with the website processing my payment for the A-10C. Tried payapl and then direct with visa and both timeout. Maybe next time we should offer to purchase before the release? :smilewink: *UPDATE* Finally went through with VISA. Paypal never worked... maybe an issue on their end?

Anyone else play with the new SSLR option yet? Looks like it improves the lighting in some ways. Kills VR performance however.

I also own a nice 32-inch 1440p G-Sync monitor and I've gone back to TrackIR twice now. First with the Samsung Odyssey and then again with O+. I have the Reverb now and I've decided to keep it around for occasional use. I still enjoy playing on the monitor a lot. DCS looks gorgeous and runs beautifully on a monitor at 1440p. You don't have to decide between one or the other unless your're considering whether or not a recently purchased HMD is worth keeping. There's a lot of guys on here that will say "I only fly VR" but I'm not one of them. Maybe in a few more years when VR is truly mind blowing I will be a VR only guy. Right now it's got some room for improvement and I'm still happy flying in 2D with high graphics.

A new tweak for Reverb to keep it smooth
bandit648 replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Virtual Reality
I have this same issue. Unplug/Replug the Reverb's USB to get it back to 90hz. I read somewhere that disable/re-enable in device manager also works.
