  1. If I have 3 bags full of fuel, is there a totalizer number at which I can jettison the externals and know I have maximum fuel in the internals and the remaining bag?
  2. Thank you!
  3. When I use my ECM on an enemy’s missile, does my ECM have any negative effect on a missile that I fire?
  4. Yes, I was referring to the fact that previously the cone landing light did not “very nicely” light up the runway threshold during landing.
  5. The only thing I would add is that the “cone” landing light very nicely lights up the runway threshold during landing; it did not do this for me before and I wish this feature could be retained. (Perhaps this is depicted in previous attached videos.)
  6. I should mention that the only visible damage to my jet that needed repair was to the tip of the right wing, and it repaired. The open panels, on both sides of the jet, closed upward on hinges after the repair.
  7. Today I accidentally hit some button(s), (maybe while I was repairing, and maybe when I also hit "ground crew" and turned on or off the electric power) and the panels on both sides of the f15c's undercarriage opened up so I could see inside my engine on both sides. Anyone know what key(s) could accomplish this, or is this a bug? Thanks!
  8. Thank you! Does anyone know what keys cause a version of the Vertical Situation Display (radar) to display in the bottom left of my monitor screen, apart from the VSD that is part of the cockpit?
  9. Thank you for your quick reply razor+r. Your comment about the smoke is veryhelpful. Left Alt + R, not left Ctrl + W, jettisons tankscollectively (all together). It does notjettison the wing tanks first, then the center tank. My question is whether the tanks can bejettisoned individually. You’re dead on that left Ctrl + W jettisons weapons inpairs; my question is whether they can be jettisoned individually. Thank you!
  10. Can fuel tanks be jettisoned individually in flight? If so, what keys? Can missiles be jettisoned individually in flight? If so, what keys? Can smoke pods be jettisoned, either collectively or individually, in flight? If so, what keys? I remember accidentally hitting keys with the result that a version of the Vertical Situation Display (radar) was displayed in the bottom left of my monitor screen, apart from the VSD that is part of the cockpit. Does anyone know what keys those were? Thank you!
  11. Draconus: Lol. Frag is correct, this involves an F15 resting on a KC-135 tanker while the tanker is flying. The F15 pilot flew the F15 to the tanker, then slowly, slowly, landed on it. The result reminds one of the Space Shuttle resting on a 747 while the 747 is flying. And yep, they're putting F15's where they don't belong (like landing them on carriers). And don't feel stupid--what's stupid is me asking someone to land an F15 on a tanker. Lol But you asked for a challenge, I'd like to know how to do it, so there it is!
  12. Ok, Draconus, I'm still working on landing an F15 on a carrier per your track and mission files just for the fun of it. But if you want another challenge just for fun, here's one more: land an F15 on a tanker! I saw a guy do this one--the tankers in aerobatics online are indestructible, so a guy landed his F15 on the tanker so it looked like the space shuttle being carried by a 747. Meet that challenge! (Lol, I know you will.) Please give me track and mission files like last time; they are great!
  13. Opened it just now. All I can say is, dang! You're the man!
  14. Outstanding! I'll open these files as soon as I get home. Thanks again!!
  15. P.S.: Chaser & Draconus: Both of you have answered the two questions I originally posed, so thanks! But what I really meant to ask was (1) whether an unmodified F15 could land on a carrier in the circumstances I intended to specify in my original question (incl. wind at 2 m/s, 60 degrees) and (2) if so, how? Thanks!
  16. Chaser: Thanks! I've seen this video. The guy who posted it said, "I set it wind speed 50 m/s so I can fly extremely low speed so I can land it this way." But 50 m/s equals about 112 mph. As mentioned in my original post, the guy who did it online did it with wind at 2 m/s. Draconus: my bad, I meant to hit a degree symbol so it would indicate 60 degrees, not 60%. And thanks for accepting the challenge! I'm having difficulty opening your track, and I've tried copying it so I could open it in DCS. Could I please ask you to give me specific step-by-step instructions re how to open it? Thanks!!
  17. Hi. I’d like to land an f15 on a carrier for acrobatic purposes only. There’s a website called aerobatics online and they have maps with carriers. The Caucasus map shows temp=1 degree; QNH 760/29.92; wind at ground, 2 m/s: 60%. A carrier is travelling 24 knots with a 310 heading. A guy named Cecil with an f15 landed on a carrier. I didn’t see the landing but I saw the f15 on the carrier and read the texts of people who had just seen him land. I should have asked him more questions but one thing he said was he landed with 500 lbs of fuel. I asked him if his AOA was 23 and he said no, he would have crashed with that AOA. So my questions are these: 1. Can the unmodified DCS f15 land on a carrier? 2. If it can be done, how do you do it? (the more specific the better) I want to do it just for fun. It this has been answered before, sorry, please direct me to the thread. If I should pose these questions elsewhere, please tell me where. Thanks!
  18. No, everyone's answers were great including yours. Thanks again!
  19. pr1malr8ge-- I'm not clear concerning to whom the comment "not paying attention how ever" referred or what you meant by that comment. As to the rest of your answer, it makes perfect sense to me and is very helpful. Thanks!
  20. Assuming his third screenshot shows his jet standing still, why would wind cause his HUD to show a speed between 10 to 20 knots? Is the HUD measuring airflow even when the jet is standing still? (I have a similar issue when the jet is facing down the runway.) Thanks in advance!
  21. I am THOROUGHLY impressed with your answers. Thank you so much!!
  22. I am new to DCS. I have read the F15 manual and the DCS User Manual. I have also read numerous threads. I understand there's a steep learning curve, I'm willing to learn, and I may not know much but I know how to ask questions although they are doubtless basic to many people. If anyone could answer the questions below it would really help. Thanks in advance! Please assume for all questions below that I want to use the DCS website in the future and not Steam. 1. I just installed DCS World 1.5.2.48726.17 from the DCS website. Is this the latest version? How can I tell? 2. If a new version of DCS World 1.5 is made, how can I tell in the future if I have the latest version of DCS World 1.5? 3. Is there an automatic updater for DCS World 1.5? 4. I just installed DCS World 1.5.2.48726.17 from the DCS website. Is this "Alpha"? "Beta"? Neither? 5. Am I correct I have to download DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha to play the NTTR? 6. Re "DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha," what does "Open" mean? 7. Re "DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha," what does "Alpha" mean? 8. Re "DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha," what is the difference between "Open" and "Alpha"? 9. What is the difference between "Alpha" and "Beta" DCS products? a. If I have Alpha, do I need Beta? b. If I have Alpha, is Beta preferable? 10. Now that I have downloaded DCS World 1.5.2.48726.17 from the DCS website, and if I need to download DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha from the DCS website to play NTTR, are DCS World 1.5.2.48726.17 and DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha compatible? That is, assuming my computer has the space to handle both programs, would there be any problem in having both programs? 11. Assuming I have DCS World 1.5.2.48726.17 and DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha on my computer, and I want to play NTTR after downloading it, do I just play it from DCS World 2.0 Open Alpha and ignore DCS World 1.5.248726.17 on my computer? 11. I previously bought FC3 on Steam. Beginning 12-29-15, I had multiple problems with my F15 and I don't know why. For example, even though I was at a complete standstill on the runway, the speed indicator reflected I was travelling 20 or 40 knots, i.e., the speed indicator was two or three notches below 0. Every time I pushed a button on the keyboard, it would take a screensaver shot. I tried to repair it by the above Windows Start Menu / All Apps / Eagle Dynamics / DCS World / repair option, but there was no "Eagle Dynamics" sub-folder (maybe because I bought FC3 from Steam?). At any rate, Steam is now gone from my computer; I uninstalled it. 12. Having deleted Steam from my computer, do I still have access to the FC3 module I purchased from Steam? That is, if I again open an account with Steam, should my FC3 module I already bought be available for downloading? (I haven't decided to download it if it's available, I'm just wondering is it still available for downloading.) 13. If I can download the FC3 I previously bought from Steam, should I download it or start all over and buy a new one from DCS?
