  1. What a coincidence! Mine too :D
  2. Well you have to decide if you want to go with Intel or AMD, Dual or Quad-Core, Ati or Nvidia. If the main purpouse of that PC is to run BS, then a fast DualCore (E8400 for example) would suffice, but if you use it for other stuff as well (Photo/Video Editing, 3D Modelling/Animation, Decoding/Encoding Video/Audio) then you should maybe go with a QuadCore CPU like the Q9550 or X9850. More and more new games already support QuadCore CPU's so it's probably not a bad investment for the future and with Intels new i7 chipset being released, prices will probably drop. RAM are pretty cheap nowadays so you can put in 4GB DDR2 or DDR3, depending on what mainbroard you want to use. On the graphic card side you could go with an Ati 4870 which should give you more than enough power for BS. Only some suggestions.
  3. I put it on my webserver. You can download it from there. http://hifidelity.at/bs
  4. Here you go: http://hifidelity.at/bs
  5. Good to know! I placed my order on the 30th October as well. I hope it arrives this week.
  6. What should be included? Only CPU, GPU, Mainboard, RAM, ... or do you need other stuff as well, i.e. Joystick, Pedals, TrackIR, 24" monitor, ...?
  7. Finally! Thank you very much!
  8. Great! The only thing that's still missing is the game itself. I've orderd a copy about 2 weeks ago and the shop already deducted the payment from my CC so it should arrive some time next week I hope.
  9. Hey Swisstiger! I just filled out the registration form for the squadron. I hope you also take applicants from your friendly neighbour Austria? :D
  10. Just watched it at work (without sound) and it's quite good! Looking forward to your next unofficial movie!
  11. That would be none of the above. Thanks for the links =FV=MAD, I'll try those out tonight.
  12. Looks like we need some serious hardware for BS. 30FPS with Koriel's specs and a slideshow when launching flares... doesn't sound too good.
  13. It works perfectly in x32, so how can that be a HW issue?
  14. 2-10 weeks??? Ordering a Bentley doesn't take that long. It's a freakin' DVD. They put it in a box, stick the address on it and off it goes. What the hell are they doing to it for 10 weeks? I chose airmail so I REALLY hope this is not going to take 10 weeks.
  15. I came across Lionel Charlet's website not long ago. There's a short movie out there called Swiss Airforce - Push the Limit, I'm sure you know which one I mean. It's one of my favourite fighter jet clips. I started some research to find out if there was a High Res version available somewhere and then found out that Push The Limit was just a kind of Best Of complilation of Lionel Charlet's movies. Then I found his website and looked at some of the sample movies and I have to say that the footage is spectacular! Now I'm thinking about buying some of those movies especially ICE Hornets and Vols Blancs. Has anyone already seen one of his moveis? Here's the link: http://www.lionelcharlet.com/aviation-films.php?langue=en&id=35
  16. Hey guys! I have a problem with my x52 running on XP x64. After the installation, everything works fine except for these three buttons: The POV2, the Fire Button and Button A (all in a row). It's very strange because all other buttons, sliders and axis work completely normal. I know that this isn't a hardware issue because I've tried it on XP x32 on another partition and the buttons work. I've tried the latest drivers from the saitek download page as well as older drivers from the FTP server but still no luck. I posted the problem on the saitek forum but haven't received and answer yet so I thought maybe someone here had similar issues. Any ideas? Thanks!
  17. It should go way beyond 3.0GHz. I still have an X2 4200+ (I know, it's an old CPU but I'm upgrading my whole system end of this year) and I'm running it on 2.8GHz undervolted to 3.2V with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro cooler.
  18. Murphy's Law. :D
  19. Thanks for the link! Just placed the order. 520 rubles (approx. €15) with shipping. Not bad! :D There were two delivery options, RR and Avia. Avia was the more expensive one and I guess it's airmail (at least I hope so).
  20. Keep the faith! :D There's nothing comparable out there on the market. It is definitely worth it! Worth the money and worth waiting.
  21. I don't think that you can go wrong the Q9550. It's one hell of a CPU. Eventually, it all depends on how much you want to spend. The Quad is manufactured in 45nm (AMD: 65nm) and there's also quite a difference in TDP. Quad: 95W, X4: 125/140W. You should actually compare the X4 with the Q6600/6700. The Q9550 is another league. :D Check out some benchmarks on the net, there are plenty of them. Bottom line: If you are willing to spend 300 bucks on a CPU then go for the Q9550 and you will be very happy. (I'm actually thinking about getting it myself. I'm tired of the AMD CPU's. They are fairly cheap but just aren't as beefy as the Intels).
  22. Nice guide, thanks! Why did you use the PNG format?
