As I begin getting to work on constructing my new rig, there are a couple questions I can't seem to figure out, given its my first time even building a gaming pc. What is overclocking? I hear that alot among gamers, but never could understand the meaning. What should I do or look for once the hardware is set up and I'm going to the motherboard stage? What would be the optimal settings whilst getting the motherboard systems set up? Would I still need a OS disc(in this case, Windows) installed if my hard drive already has the same, if not, a more updated OS?

Though many of is specs aren't yet known, I'm curious as to how the Rafale would play out in DCS if ED implemented the project?

Thing is, I got this pc at the time of its deteriation period, 2014. The pc was built in '09. Im surprised it managed to go another three as it was until Monday. Credit card seems highly unlikely for me right now. Maybe a debit or gift card would suffice. Amazon is so far where I have listed my new rig parts, though it will be quite a while before I get the stuff needed to set up. But any help from the community would be greatly appriciated.

Well, after trying to upgrade my old pc RAM for the 8GB hold, my pc has kicked the bucket. I tried to have tech support see what it was, turns out the mobo was old for about eight years straight. Edit: Now without a pc or money to buy parts anymore, I guess theres nothing i can do at this point.

:huh: I've been trying to figure this out, but can't really wrap my head around this. Can anyone help me in finding out the range output on the RWR for the A10?

Back during the days of WW2, I believe during the days of Germany's fall, I heard there were reports of B-17's-B-24's gathering together for formations to bomb military targets on absolute MASSIVE scale numbers. Anywhere ranging from hundreds to upon thousands of American bombers just taking to the air. :shocking: How much time did it take for all those planes to gather up for such a scary-looking sight?

Update on the Enterprise, she's not being a museum, nor being sunk. They're moving her to become the new Gerald Ford-class aircraft carriers. She'll also be the ninth version to set sail when completed.

A Vietnam map would be a good addition. We can play CCR's "Fortunate Son" in Hueys dropping troops off to raise morale.:smilewink:

Just a thought, but would it be a possible that we might see the potential of having the Korean War in DCS anywhere in the future, considering we already have the two main fighters from that era?

So basically, it's a lost cause either way. My PC won't be able to handle the game's constant updating due to poor power, and the latter option seems impossible to reach, considering the price ranges for even 4GB RAM is expensive af today(even on Amazon, it's near $50.00 for one stick of RAM). Sucks to know this, because I was just getting started on getting parts for getting back to DCS. Only thing I got so far was a 650W Power Supply to replace my old one, and I'm trying to get a 2GB card to meet min. specs, and 8GB is all I can do for RAM. *sigh*:(

As the minimum specs for DCS are concerned, I'm currently working on getting the necessary parts as stated on my sig. But can the Studio 540 be even upgraded for the task, let alone upgrade even more, or am I to look into getting another computer suitable for DCS?:helpsmilie:

That, becoming a museum, or sinking it to become an artificial reef, in which I'm strongly against the third option, but could well see the second being useful, given the Enterprise' history.

Oh, someone already made a Vietnam map? Nice!:D After looking carefully through the screenshots, I think it looks like a re-textured version of the Caucasus map, but nevertheless might give it a whirl one day.

What maps could you see the developers make for possible future conflicts in the Southeast Asia region? Maybe not as soon after the SOH(Strait of Hormuz), but still look into? And how big would the maps look if they decided to implement it? The only places that top off my head are the Vietnam and North/South Korea areas during the 50's-70's.

Okay, thanks for the clarification, guys. It's just good to know that the A-10 still has a place in the DCS realm, but both are useful to their own abilities.:)

Not sure where this would go in the forums, but wanted to ask this. Since the Viggen mod in DCS is a ground-based fast attack plane, do you think it would probably replace the Warthog for ground attack/CAS missions now?
