    C:\Program Files\DCS\Coremods\Aircraft\F-16\Liveries\F-16C_50

    C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-16C_50

  5. Livery was made from pictures as references, and from these pictures this particular livery have the same low visibility roundel on wings and tail.

Probably the official rules are right, but from pics (and the skin is based from pics) the plane have the low viz on the wings.

But maybe we need to ask to Tbear, he know better than me these particulars, he saw these from really close.

However, thanks for you feedbacks, for sure i'll do a better version when I have some free time.

  6. Is there any tip that matches the correct camo shape and color? and aligment color wing and fueslage

    im uesing photoshop 2018

Well, I usually using a graphic tablet, but you could use the pen tool too, and adding shodows as option layer to giving a bit of blur edge

If I can give my two cents, seem that the camo edges are slightly blurred

  7. I’m new to this. How do I go about installing this after download?

After the downloading extract the folder and put it on C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-16C_50

If the folder "Liveries" and "F-16C_50" doesn't exist create them

    Hey Porco!

I love this skin, Really great job with it!

It would be really cool to see a version of this as 91-0405.

"405" seems to have much more prominant/bright gray markings ontop of the Have Glass base colour which to my eyes look much better, I like the contrast. ;).

    65502_1569348262.jpg

Or even a Gray radome Jet such as 91-0391

Anyway, just suggestions, I'm loving fly the skin as is, but since you've already done a lot of the hard work with the tail graphic and the Have Glass roughmets it would be cool to see these variations. :D

    Great Job!

That's a great idea; I'll do for sure ( when I've a bit of free time!

    Superb work!

Thanks for sharing this with us!

I'm glad you've altered/corrected the rough met layer.

I know ED's F16 texture is not final and I also hope the artist will try to get an overall rendering closer to the real thing as it tends to be too shiny in the current state.

(even if this one is specifically made for the Have Glass tech)

Also thanks to rrohde for showing me this thread ;)

    Beautiful livery @PorcoRosso86!

Thanks a lot dude! I tried to do my best to doing an effect as close the real life as possible

    Awesome skin - love it!

As a side note, I didn't know what "Have Glass" was, so I found a little tidbit about it:

"Have Glass is the code name for a series of RCS reduction measures for the F-16 fighter. Its primary aspect is the addition of an indium-tin-oxide layer to the gold tinted cockpit canopy. This is reflective to radar frequencies, while it may seem odd, adding a radar reflective coating actually reduces the plane's visibility to radar. An ordinary canopy would let radar signals straight through where they would strike the many edges and corners inside and bounce back strongly to the source, the reflective layer dissipates these signals instead. Overall, Have Glass reduces an F-16's RCS (radar-cross section) by some 15 percent."

    Thanks for the info dude!

I've found the same (but maybe complete) explanation here. The pic from near is truly amazing!

    Hello there

This is a provisional livery of the Minnesota ANG, 179th Fighter Squadron, Serial 91-0336

That's was a really hard, because wasn't easy to reproduce a realistic have glass effect, and that was a real challenge for me. Also I added a lot of details, that make this livery as close as possible to the references.

That livery was requested by Bexter, that help me in many references based from real pilots and real ground crew: thanks a lot!

    Canopy by Rybo

    That livery included:

    - a new roughmets that reproduce the "have glass" effect

    - new better decals

    - added new particulars like brass looking pitot, brass looking antennas, gloss paint for other sensors ecct

    - modified the intake edge panel to be curved as like the references, with their normals

    - added a black band in the canopy with a line of brass rivets, with their normals

    and more..

179th Fighter Squadron Viper History f-16.net

On March 10th, 1990 the 179th Fighter Intercept Squadron received the first ADF variants of the F-16 to take over for the F-4D. The early markings included Duluth written on the tail as well as an image of the constellation 'Little Bear' which is also better known as the 'Big Dipper'.

Starting on March 17th, 1992 the 179th FIS was renamed the 179th Fighter Squadron. A few years later in October of 1995 the unit was tasked with a permanent detachment duty. Detachment 1 was an alert status mission based out of Tyndal AFB, Florida.

To fit the needs of a newer global environment and shrinking air force in the United States, the squadron dropped the air superiority role and became a general purpose unit. Proficient in the air-to-air mission, the 179th FS had to be brought up to speed using the F-16 for mud moving using both guided and unguided bombs. Live bombs were dropped for the first time in March of 2000 during a training exercise. Due to these role requirements, the base also had to be renovated. During this transition the units tail flash was also changed. The constellation 'Little Bear' was dropped and a tail code adopted.

Towards the end of 2003 the 'Bulldogs' began conversion to the F-16C/D block 25. Most of the ADF's were retired straight to AMARC wearing the unit tail flashes. They joined several other aircraft that had been sent to AMARC by the 179th FS over the years. During the coarse of the conversion the 179th FS also gave up its requirements for Detachment 1 at Tyndal AFB. Now with the block 25 and multi-mission training led to combat deployments which had in the past excluded the 179th FS from participating.

On April 27th, 2010 the squadron began another conversion being the first ANG unit to operate the block 50 when five F-16s arrived from Spangdahlem AB. This move will see the combination of both the 22nd and 23rd FS to become the reactivated 480th FS with the surplus aircraft going to the 179th FS. The majority of the block 25s will be sent for retirement in AMARG.
