  1. What video card are you currently using and what resolution will you be running BS on or game on? Native resolution for a 19" widescreen is usually 1440x900, and 1680x1050 for a 22", and 1920x1200 for 24", and so on. You might need to upgrade your video card as well if you get a 22" or 24". I recommend Dell. Quality is pretty good, and you have 30 days to exchange it as many times as you want till you're completely satisfied without you even leaving your house. If you decide to get any other brand, make sure you buy from a brick & mortar store so you can hook up a laptop to the monitor to check for bad pixels and backlight uniformity before leaving the store.
  2. How does the new trimmer logic affect force feedback joysticks?
  3. Hi, the question I have might be stupid, but, here it goes... I know that the pilot cannot hear the sonic boom when the aircraft is travelling at supersonic speed. But can the pilot hear it upon slowing down to subsonic speed? A lot of people say yes because they believe the sound wave would catch up with the plane, but someone claimed that he had asked a real navy pilot this question and the answer he got is no. However, he didn't explain why. So, I'm wondering if anyone here knows the right answer.
  4. BS does not work with SLI. In my profile, I have to set the SLI rendering mode to single GPU, as using any other mode would result in graphical glitches. If you take a look in the Nvidia profile for Lockon, you'll notice it's also set to single mode.
  5. I believe plenty of places will sell it when it's out. Right now I know Amazon.co.uk is accpeting pre-orders, and March 6 is the estimated ship date.
  6. It's not out yet.
  7. Yeah, very interesting.
  8. What do you guys think about the new T.16000M from Thrustmaster? 256 times more precise than most other joysticks for only $49.99? http://www.thrustmaster.com/News.aspx?ActualiteID=235#RubriqueSelectionnee
  9. When my PC Gamer subscription expired last May, I didn't renew. Looks like I did the right thing. The magazine is getting thinner and thinner anyway.
  10. Trimming is probably easier since the stick hardly even moves, so returning to center should be quicker than the CH.
  11. Setting the trimmer below 100 lowers the return to center tension.
  12. Well, if you buy the FSSB mod along with Cougar, I'm sure it wil be better for DCS. That is going to cost $700-850, rather expensive.
  13. What force settings do you use? I found that the default 100 for trimmer is too strong, and makes the stick kick when trimming, so I lowered it to 30. Shake doesn't seem to do anything so I just leave it at default.
  14. You can also download profiles from lockonfiles.com. Registration at the site is free.
  15. Will the X52 throttle unit work without the joystick unit attached? I'm thinking about using that throttle with a MSFF2.
  16. It's a standard s-video cable.
  17. Good, I'll try it. BTW, do you know if the throttle unit of the X52 can work without the stick attached? I do have a CH throttle but I prefer the feel of the X52 throttle.
  18. Lack of programming isn't an issue as there is 3rd party software that allows you to do so. The biggest issue is that there's no way to adjust the force feedback strength. I tried my FF2 with Falcon 4 Aliied Force, and the force feedback effects were way too strong.
  19. Has anyone ever ordered form Hirevsims http://hirevsims.com/ ? Their products seem to be really nice, even have helicopter sticks.
  20. Do you guys think MS FF2 is easier than the X-52 for flying the Ka50? I'm currenly using a X-52 Pro but have a MS FF2 lying around. Should try the FF2?
  21. Already printed a couple hundred A4 pages using that toner before starting on the manual.
  22. I printed it double sided using the laser at work. The toner ran out just before finishing last 5 pages or so, and it cost $50 to replace the toner at a nearby stationary store.
  23. I created a profile for dcs.exe using nhancer, and set SLI mode to AFR (also tried AFR2), however, SLI load balance indicator showed no activity. Is there a way to make SLI work?
  24. Don't think you'll gain anything by adding a second card. Your CPU is gonna be a huge bottleneck for two 280s.
  25. That sucks. Anyways, I plan to upgrade to Nehalem as soon as it's out. Hopefully that will help a little.
