  1. Well dang. Going back to the 9/27 version did not resolve the problem. I'll try a fresh install later. It's just so frustrating. Literally nothing has changed with my setup and my gpu now sits around 50-70 percent utilized while my fps tanks below 30. Nothing has changed on my pc... TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Nevermind. Realized I was only reading the Alpha documentation. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. That is awesome. Thank you! But reading through the docs, the last update was 9/10. September tenth? I get an update it seems almost every week. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. 4 fps in DCS World Agree with this statement and honestly am frustrated with the lack of support and the direction this thread has gone. Can we get some suggestions other than wait for 2.5? Seriously last week I was averaging 90fps with no stutters. Now I'm getting drops as low as 15 fps. My lowest previously was 45 fps. Something changed in last Friday's patch and I seriously wish I could just roll it back. Also of note: gpu and cpu usage (on a single core) no longer even come close to 100 percent. CPU 1 only averages fifty percent while playing and does not scale up when looking at complex areas (towns, runways, etc.) GPU sits mostly around 70-80 percent utilization. Prior to the patch, I'd max out my GPU without any problem (although rarely maxed out core 1 of the cpu.) Any suggestions on how to roll the previous patch back? Appreciate the support. 5. Thank you. I didn't think that was possible so I did some research and turns out you are correct. Seemed odd to me that a 1060 couldn't beat out a 980, but several reviews indicate that the 1060 isn't quite the beast people have been making it out to be. Thanks for your input! 6. That is exactly the kind of feedback I am looking for. THANK YOU! I spent 700 on the 780TI and don't want to do that again (on a 1080) if there are cheaper alternatives out there now. It's crazy to me that I can get a 1070 for cheaper than a 980TI and I may end up going this route to help keep costs down. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I searched quite a bit and wasn't able to find much on this topic. I was really curious if any of you think the 6gb 1060 could handle VR with DCS. A few years ago I broke the bank and bought a 780TI which I've been using for three or so years. Great card but no VR. :( Now I'm trying to decide on how I want to get into VR. The 1060 seems to be the best bet with current tech, but might be limiting in the future. What are your thoughts? How would you get into VR on a budget? The base platform is more than adequate... 4770k at 4.2 with 16gb and a fast SSD. I am running Win7 Pro and currently have no plans to move to 10 (not sure if that makes a difference.) I also have no plans to update the base. The 6500 and 6600ks I've seen run similar frames in DCS with all settings maxed (1080p, I'm not investing in a monitor to run 1440 or 4K as I want to go VR.) TJ PS: last week I dropped a 25 dollar evo 212 into this rig and upped the overclock pretty significantly. Anyone who dogs the evo is an idiot. 25 bucks and easily a 20% increase in core speed with a reduction in heat. Sure there are better air coolers, but man the bang for the buck factor with this cooler is high! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
