How do you do this? Specifically what I am trying to do is create a waypoint that doesnt require the player to go to TAKT > Input > 9 > waypoint button to mark a waypoint as the Target Waypoint. I would like to set this up in the mission editor. I have a square box, and I put M1 in the comments section... is that all I have to do? TJ

What am I not understanding about the RB75 employment and Chucks guide? Someone on the 104th got me squared away, but page 75-77 list hitting T0 then slewing the seeker head to the target.. Problem here is that T0 doesnt allow you to do this (T1 does!) The manual on page 317 gets it right, but I was curious if I wasnt understanding something about Chucks guide or if this was an oversight? Also, XXJohnXX video on the RB75 employment also calls out to hit T0, so I am pretty sure I am missing something, but help me understand what! TJ

Cribob- The new stable version is 100 times better when multiple frequencies talk at the same time. THANK YOU! TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is this why the red light wont go out when I sometimes attempt to strike ships with the 15? Sometimes it works fine - others not. Im using the steps outlined in Chucks AJS37 manual for 15 launch. EDIT: Actually, I think this has something to do with speeding up time - I think if I speed up the time, I will never get launch authorization... TJ

Just going to drop this little gem here for anyone curious about CPU bottlenecks and why you won't see 100 percent CPU utilization on a game that relies on single thread performance. GamersNexus also has a great article about this topic but I'm struggling to find the link. I'll edit and repost once found. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And I see real close to 100% utilization on your task manager graph... but it's not painting it in a picture that makes sense to you. Try researching Hyper Threading, which is what's causing your four core CPU to show 8 threads in task manager. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also- thanks for editing your original post image with the correct link. As you can see in my quote of your original post, your image link was wrong... why did you fix it and then bash me on it? You aren't here to learn, you are here to be an internet warrior. Have fun. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Low utilization is caused by a bottleneck. As I stated in your first post, the gpu sits at 60% because your ten year old CPU can't feed it. I'm sorry you don't feel that cpus have advanced significantly in time. Moores law would strongly disagree with you, but what's an observation? And please don't tell me that Moores law is a fallacy... What you are failing to take into account is that hyper threading and multi cores have advanced significantly, but DCS has not advanced to take advantage of it. This is great for you, as you get great performance on ten year old hardware, and you see diminishing returns on brand new hardware making you think "why would I ever upgrade?" I can see how that would lead you down your current thought process, but I am fairly certain you didn't come here to understand why your thought process is skewed. If Pimax were so bad, why are users expressing clearer text in dials and gauges that are blurry in Vive/Rift. You seem hell bent on expressing your anger/disappointment/hard headedness and not on avenues of constructive learning or forward movement. Enjoy watching task manager and the silence from peers here to help you. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I comprehend you loud and clear, but if you aren't willing to listen because you have it all figured out, peace out. I searched YouTube for your 920 and found several videos of people complaining of poor performance in modern games. Lol. Most were upgrade vids. Hmph. Your bottle neck is your CPU... plain and simple. If you believe task manager is showing you how busy your threads are, you have another think coming. Task manager isn't painting the picture you think it is... As for 4K VR, it's already out and a simple search of this forum will find several threads on it, including one asking for support for DCS for it. Ps: if you want to see your single thread performance. Run cinebench and compare it. Or read about it here: http://www.cpu-world.com/benchmarks/Intel/Core_i7-920_single.html Modern hardware is two times faster than your 920. Enjoy wasting the 1060. Pss: learn how to host a link. Your image is broken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The single thread performance of your old 920 is bottlenecking you... if you check core 1 while plying DCS you will see it's maxed at 100 percent while the other cores sit mostly idle (some processing is sent to core 2, but DCS is mostly a single core app.) This is confirmed by your low GPU usage. Your single threaded CPU just can't send enough data to the GPU fast enough. Check this website: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html Find the low score of your CPU... look at the current gen i7 offerings and see that single thread they will score more than twice as much as your CPU. Before you do anything else, upgrade that CPU. The 1060 isn't even being utilized fully by the bottleneck your CPU is providing. A 1260 won't fix this issue. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't speak to VR performance, but it takes forever to load. I wouldn't call 1.5.6 good at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gaming chair advice needed.
Tj1376 replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Any one sit the Thrustmaster Warthog on the seat with you? Like in between your legs? I'm also looking for a new chair but want to have the stick in between my legs like a real helo. And yes, I realize there are so many inappropriate jokes we can make with the above sentence. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Why am I being an idiot? Loud constant alarm..
Tj1376 replied to Tj1376's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Yup- looks like a sound he modified for another aircraft is the problem. Should anyone else run into this issue, go to the following folder: \_Mods\!Moltar's RvE Mods for DCS V5 Picksking's Textures\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Cockpits and delete the following file: Avionics_AC_400HZ (leave the similarly titled US one) TJ -
Why am I being an idiot? Loud constant alarm..
Tj1376 replied to Tj1376's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thanks- thats the problem... I have Moltar's v5 mod pack installed and it is the culprit. Not sure if its something wrong with his pack or if I left it installed when I ran the download of the MI8 (I had no idea it even had MI8 sounds in it.) Removing the mod pack and trying again removed the god awful sound. Adding it back and starting her up again brought the sound back. In looking at his mod pack, there is no way it should be the culprit (he only updates Engine and Rotor sounds for the mi8.) I have no idea why it causes this loud annoying tone when Gen1 is flipped on... I've even deleted the MI8 folder out of his mod pack and re-enabled it and the problem is still there. :( Im off to uninstall the mods and run a repair to see if it fixes. TJ -
During either a cheat start or a manual cold start, once GEN 1 is flipped to ON there is a god awful constant tone similar to the low rpm tone in the Huey. What is this, why is it sounding off and how do I stop it? Its not low rotor RPM, I am following the instructions in the quick start manual and I've got the collector / throttle to max and Main Rotor RPM has stabilized at 95%. I thought it was odd to turn off the APU before engaging the generators, so I've tried it both ways (APU off, then Gen1 & 2 on - no dice, horrible tone sounds. APU still ON, Gen 1 & 2 on, (tone starts) APU off) I've even turned on the Radar altimeter and let it go through its checks and then zero'd it out to turn that alarm off... Just to make sure it wasn't that either. I really want to learn how to fly this aircraft so Im bummed I cant figure out what this hideous noise is! Any help is most appreciated! (running most up to date DCS 1.5 and just downloaded the MI8 this morning.) TJ

DCS-SimpleRadio Standalone I feel like an idiot. I was adjusting the red volume knobs, not the green one... I've spent three days trying to figure this out. Aye. #Fail! For those also interested, it's covered in this part of the YouTube video. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im having the same issue. Folks can hear me, I can see the frequency light up white, but I can't hear others. I've tried both the new and old audio to no avail. Audio preview works great, and yes I've made sure the radio volume in the a10c is all the way up. What am I doing wrong? TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
