Also, you clearly aren't trying to understand how poor the SA is in the su27 RWR. I flew this scenario tonight on BF (while your twb friends engaged us in a M2k and f15) and I'd challenge you to try it- fly su27 towards a blue sa3 with two a2a contacts heading towards you. Wait until the sa3 fires. Turn away from the sa3. Tell me where the a2a contacts are. Good luck. And that's the problem with the su27 RWR. I don't have a cool diamond (or box) that shows where you are. I get signal strength (range) of the missile inbound... I'd rather have the SA! And I'd deal with all of this (DL off and crappy RWR) if I knew the missiles were closer to an even playing field. The 530 has a custom FM and is far superior (lose lock, just reacquire). (I'm fine with fc3 weapons as the f15 fights the same issues the su27 fights so I feel that's pretty even.) Does DL fix this problem? Of course it doesn't. The only fix here is to disable the far superior Mirage. But I don't want that! I want something that will help me address the deficiency in the su27. We cant- not sure if the admins are keeping the data behind the scenes. My money is F15 is the most played air to air. M2k has the most kills. TJ -

Still the best argument for the fact that the SU27 is at a supreme disadvantage: Blue doesnt want it. The a10C was wanted (and added) to RED - it is clearly the air to ground superior platform, so to even it out, Red got it. Why doesnt blue want any of the Russian fighters? Dont give me an east v west argument as this server is very polluted (we both have m2k, we both have huey, hip and gazelle, we both have the a10c.) Mic drop- Im out. TJ -

Aborted- You need to learn your f15 and m2k RWR. It does give you distance info, it just doesn't give the distance info you think it gives. The Russian RWR does the same through signal strength. You have to learn what that means on BF because of the lack of long range missiles. I know if it's an f15, he can't fire until there are only two dots unlit. M2k is 3 dots. But how do I know if it's a f15 or a M2k? I DONT. Yes, the Russian RWR will tell me of one other a2a contact. But I don't see signal strength on that second contact. So am I flying into a two ship or is the second contact 50 miles away. I don't know. The M2k and F15 do know. I don't know why you think I said I wanted BF to be 104th. Where did I say that? And more importantly, how does that contribute to this conversation? This conversation is over how to improve BF. Right now the M2k and f15 have advantages over the su27. If you need hard proof and you just don't want to read the opinions that others have posted, then go pull up the stat page. What are the most flown fighters on the map with the most a2a kills? There is no SA in the merge with the su27. There is no SA when you have multiple air threats in the su27. This is the disadvantage. The f15 and m2k have awesome rwrs and missile warning systems. To overcome the crap RWR in the su27, we are asking for datalink. The two hours or so we had DL today were bliss. For the first time I felt like I could go into a situation and I'd know where my wingmen were, EVEN IF they had their radar on. Previously if my friends had their radar on my RWR was crap. (It's still crap, but at least I can now see their contacts when I'm nose cold.) It's an interesting option that should be explored. I didn't know the 104th turned it back on and honestly after I saw BF had DL off I spent two hours on the 104th. It's not the same as BF, but I did have quite a bit of fun. Yep- after the server restart they put a message up saying DL was a mistake. WTF.. way to ruin the hopes and dreams... For a while we actually had more Su27s than Mirages. TJ -

I hadnt really flown air to air in sometime for Red because it had a significant disadvantage to the Mirage. Whatever Cribob and team have done really helps... I still got smoked by a 530 from a M2K (and then a teamkill from a buddy SU27 who was being stupid with EO), but I felt like I could at least compete without hiding in the mountains. Id like to see red keep it for a week or so, see how it plays out. Is it too much? I couldnt really tell from the 45 mins I got to play today, but I really really enjoyed the flight with the DL active. TJ -
Team- Ive been trying to complete the "Rotation" mission a few times.. Not having any luck. What happens if you damage an item? Im not getting a mission failure, but the mission wont advance. (I damaged the barrels and i never get the message to go land to get the slings and then head home.) TJ

I think this is the best argument for enabling the data link. It does add something unique to the su27 platform which would draw players to it and away from the mirage. The f15 has drop tanks and an excellent radar. The mirage has full fuel, high fidelity and awesome modeling of the 530 that avoids the ED crap we currently have. Let's try datalink in the su27! I was more thinking you'd start from the fuel base so you didn't have to worry about landing on the grass. I'd be up for allowing the p51 to be used and for it still to only take recon lives. Restrict the rockets and bombs if your worried, but I really don't see a p51 doing much against two shilkas and two sa9s. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

This is actually a great point. This would significantly help when a side gets backed into their last airbases. Give anapa and and a similar blue base full fuel gen4s. You can take them, but you have to fly forever. Put a small amount of strategically placed gen4s closer, but make them spend seven mins fueling up. I also really like the factory idea and I think Cribob is already working on it, he just calls them fuel bases. If we can add some missile stores to the logic, that might also make the cargo missions more powerful in blue flag. Maybe a p51 can carry either just fuel or just arms. But not both. Fuel/arms are only generated at a fuel base (p51 can take off from dirt!) but you can also ferry fuel/arms from a base with many supplies to a base with no supplies. Agreed. And now it's just Mirage v Mirage because people are so tired of waiting for fuel. The notion that putting empty tanks and making people wait seven mins to refuel would keep people from respawning quickly went out the door the minute the Mirage was given full fuel. Now we just have majority of all air superiority as Mirage v Mirage. Would it honestly hurt BlueFlag to try fc3 with full fuel? Or at the least to half the fuel time and make the Mirage refuel too? When you close an objective, it spawns troops that you must kill before your troops can capture. Thy are VERY hard to find and it adds some enjoyment as they've been known to take out some Helos with their small arms fire. Also, make sure you are taking standard troops. Tip number one. Learn to fly this thing loaded heavy. It's easier to fly when it's heavy. Tip number two. Don't confuse the shaking just shy of 50kph as vrs. This bird vibrates when moving in and out of transitional lift. Tip number three. You can yank and bank this bird just like the Huey. Don't be afraid to pitch the nose up sixty degrees to slow down. Good luck and have fun. When I hear people tell me they can't slow this thing down I ask them to show me. Then I show them. You just can't be scared to pitch it around pretty violently. You will crash and die a few times. You'll chop of the tail a few times. But you will learn and it will make you a better pilot because of it. TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We just took ONI farp - The tool says it has a million KG of fuel, all of the spawned units have spawned, but I cant slot into a MI8 in ONI. I get "Oni Farp in pak 6 is closed - Pick a different slot" We own it, why cant I slot into it? EDIT- After about five mins of all the units being respawned at Oni, we could slot into Oni. However we cannot refuel or rearm at Oni. Even though it has plenty of fuel, no replies from ground crew for requests to rearm refuel. And yes, I am very familiar with the MI8 on how to rearm/refuel.
