  1. I use color curves (in sony vegas) in post process while editing. So sorry my pit doesn't look that good when I'm playing. ;)
  2. Thank you! I wonder if it will be different in NTTR since the buildings are rendered differently. Hopefully they will show up there.
  3. I just made a quick video of me testing out the ground radar on different constellation of ground targets and buildings at different altitude just to give me an idea of how they show up in the ground radar. It is absolutely possible to detect even single ground targets with a trained eye and some situational awareness. BiufJMEmSxI
  4. It is the 27th I got the open BETA installed the latest patch (1.5.6) and still no viggen to be seen. Whats going on? **Update** Oops update not relesed yet apperantly. I updated to 1.5.5.6. :D Sorry for that.
  5. This worked. Must've been some error with my mission. I created a new mission and it worked no problems. The mission was a bit old so it might have been some lingering bug or something. Anyway thanks for all the help and input! That is why I love the DCS community. :pilotfly:
  6. No. Also I've tried all other A2G weapons and they work fine, including GROM missiles which fire from the same weapon selector position as the S24.
  7. I promise :D I've fired these rockets like a hundred times before. It is just now they are not working. Last time I had an issue with the MiG 21 it was just the developers that changed a default position of a switch so I wanted to make sure the same hadn't happened again before I report it as a bug. ;)
  8. Sorry if I was unclear, of course I select the rockets in the weapons panel S-24 either from 1-2 pylon or 3-4 pylon. Still can't fire them though. I read the manual and followed the procedures. I've fired them before but haven't flown MiG-21 for a while and thought something might've changed.
  9. DCS 1.5 (Latest stable release) Regular rockets is firing just fine but when I try to launch the heavy rockets nothing happens. I thought that the launching procedures are the same. If this is a bug I will report it accordingly but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.
  10. Yeah, I think it is super strange with the weapon modeling of the Mk82. Looking at live footage or live training videos all of the drops in the CCRP video should have been counted as direct hits I think.
  11. Great to hear some of you like them! I'm thinking of doing another series covering the rest of Mirages A2G capabilities (laser guided munitions, rockets and guns).
  12. Since my last tutorial series on how to land the Mirage was very well received and I once again had trouble finding a complete guide on youtube I decided to make a series of bombing tutorials for the Mirage. I am by no means an expert but as clearly seen in the videos my procedures do work. :joystick: I've focused on making the tutorials as simple as possible for beginners. Introduction to CCRP bombing: fosK5WoYUbI A quick guide on how to use CCRP for carpet bombing: eeWfb3cR8kQ Introduction to CCIP bombing: guFcJhXo9oQ I hope some of you finds it useful! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of you! :D
  13. Viggen Tactics Thank you! I've been studying Viggen tactics for a long time now. :D It is going to be som much fun trying them out with the actual aircraft.
  14. Seems like this post is more relevant now more than ever now if you want to get a head start preparing for the viggen. :D **Older post from the main LN forum section** I was inspired by a post in the AJS 37 discussion thread to try out Swedish Air Force tactics using the Mirage 2000C. The tactics in question is low level flying strike missions with rockets pod. For anyone who is interested in trying I made a video detailing how to employ the tactics with the Mirage: gxS8TVC6LlY Part 2 for this using bombs: cHv1zftKKlQ I based my mission and flying on this video to come as close as possible to real thing. hWrsP3hq5M8
  15. Actually my biggest peeve is when I'm flying in the KA-50 and I get sudden frame drops. Since I usually just run with VSYNC (locked at 60fps) the high frames doesn't matter. :) But a drop from 60 to 30 FPS is very noticeable. :joystick: With these setting I'm finally rid of these framedrops.
  16. The other day I was tweaking my graphics settings in DCS using the cold start scene for the F-86. For some reason there is a specific angle in that scene when you're on the ground that I always see a huge FPS drop. I use that scene since it is static and easily accessible. While DCS looking nice is important to me, the biggest immersion breaker for me is low FPS. Anyway a couple of minutes in to it I decided to record it and share my process in case it would be useful for someone. Please note that these are just the settings that I found works best for me on my computer. My PC Spec: i7 4790k @ 4.5ghz, 16GB DDR3 RAM and GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X.
  17. How to avoid hitting the tail when landing. This happened to me many times in the beginning. Actually in the first video I almost hit the tail on the runway as I was deploying the airbreaks. If you look closely you can see the aircraft tilting back. Good thing I caught it in time. My strategy for for dealing with this is the following: 1. Always use the APP button and align the speed chevrons with the brackets. 2. It is very easy to want to flare too much just as you are about to hit the runway. Never flare above an AOA of 14. It is okay to hit the ground a little hard. 3. As the wheels hit the ground push you stick just a little bit forward. Not enough to force the nose wheel down but enough to stop the tail to strike the ground. I know this is easier said than done. For the air to ground maneuvering mode. If you look at the first video from 4:31 I activate the mode and hover my mouse over the switch for a full second, should be easy to spot. :pilotfly:
  18. Part 2 I made a part 2 of this using bombs and a super nice skin made by someone called legoheli. cHv1zftKKlQ
  19. If that is true I've must have missed that in an update. I was definitely not the case when I started flying with the Mirage. :)
  20. Thank you! I don't think any pilot would be crazy enough to try a zero visibility high cross wind landing in real life though. But honestly crosswind landings is just a matter of practicing. Since you can see the runway in the HUD you will get a sense of drifting if the winds are too strong. Then it is just a matter of using rudder to compensate the best you can and keeping an eye on the ILS making sure you don't drift away from your course. Would be super difficult though. :joystick:
  21. Great tip! Didn't think about that. Where is the fun in using autopilot? :P Haha I might do a video on that later though. :)
  22. I know there are some other good video tutorials out there but I couldn't find any good "complete" guides to landing the Mirage when I was first learning to fly it. So I made these in the hope that some of you finds it useful. :pilotfly: Basic landing procedures: XJq4eNgZ-vU Landing on a cloudy day using ILS and TACAN to find airbase and align up with runway: P0VCssCQ0S4 Bad weather and fog equals zero visibility landing: a_ixQHO-vpw
  23. Thanks! Yeah I do mostly ground attack with both the M2000C and the MiG 21. The Viggen is exactly the aircraft I want. :joystick: Can't wait for it to be released.
  24. Actually it's a flare. :D I checked the video file and it seems a launched a couple of flares before realizing it wouldn't be necessary since it was a radar guided SAM. EDIT: I retract the above statement. When looking closer I can see that I have the same amount of flares when starting as I have when going in for the attack run.
