  1. Thanks for the reply. Yes, there is single button assignments for zoom in, zoom out etc. The problem is DCS sees the scroll wheel just like the mouse wheel so its not available for any control assignment. I haven't played with the Saitek profile software yet and that might be the way to go as suggested by wizav. Yesterday I updated to the latest Saitek (now Logitech) software which caused me to loose all my DCS control assignments because it labeled my HOTAS differently  In the meantime, left-alt-c enables/disables clickable cockpit and while disabled I can zoom with the wheel. Sucks. I'm a newbie to all of this and am pretty overwhelmed right now but committed to flying this thing eventually.
  2. Tried that but it does not seem to recognize the scroll wheel as an available axis control.
  3. Is there a way I can use my X52 Pro scroll wheel as a zoom control while in the clickable cockpit of the FA18? I use it this way in all the FC3 aircraft and I'd like to keep it that way in the FA18 but just can't figure out how to do it. Thanks,
  4. F15s are still stopping on the runway. Is this a planned fixed? It was always rather nice when they taxied in with you after a successful single player mission.
  5. I'm back flying again thanks to ED. They did something regarding my authorizations and all is well again. I think I'll leave off-line mode alone since I'm still not exactly sure what happened. :dunno:
  6. I have not updated to Windows 10 version 1803 yet, but my PC is downloading it in preparation for installation right now.
  7. All I did was click the little off line mode icon to try it out several days ago since I was just doing single player stuff (instant action, fast missions, etc.) I did make some aircraft control setting changes for my hotas while in that mode as well. Things seem to work fine in that mode. Now, when I get DCS running after all the failed authorization login stuff I described earlier, the game is in regular on line mode. Pressing the off line mode icon generates the following message: Can't enter offline mode, error 409
  8. Checking Windows Update log, the last update was a security update performed on 4/10/2018. So it does not appear to be associated with a Windows update.
  9. I was using off line mode prior to the issue. It no longer allows me to enter off line mode and again refers to error code 409 when attempted. I don't recall doing a windows update just prior to the issue unless it was done automatically on shutdown and I didn't notice. I did update my motherboard bios the day before the problem began.
  10. Failed to get Authorization, Error Code is 409 On Sunday afternoon I began to be prompted with the login screen when starting DCS 2.5.1 then receive the following error when logging in: "Failed to get authorization, error code 409, no saved authorization found" This is followed by the following messages regarding all my installed modules, campaigns and terrains: ".... is not authorized to be used with your account." It then asks me to provide valid serial numbers (which it presents) for each installation with the option to "bind" or "skip". After pressing "bind" for each installation, I receive the following message before the game starts: "Failed to update authorization data, error code 409" The game then starts but I cannot pilot any aircraft. All missions start me out in map mode with all aircraft present except the one I'm suppose to be piloting! :dunno: I submitted a help ticket Monday afternoon but have yet to receive a reply. This is my first time submitting a help ticket, how long do they usually take to reply? I tried a cleanup/repair for the heck of it but that didn't do anything. Has anyone else experienced this before? Any help to get me back flying would be appreciated. Thanks
  11. This latest update 2.5.1 has removed the howling sound that was present whenever an AI F/A 18 was landing or taxiing. It sounded like a one tone battle horn before for some reason on my system. Since nobody else commented on this I'm assuming it might have been something unique to my installation. Regardless, its now gone and the F/A 18 fighters now sound like regular jets.
  12. In all the single player missions I've flown, the A.I. F/A 18 fighters all emit a howling sound when they're landing and moving on the ground. Is this suppose to be realistic or is this a bug?. I sure hope this is a bug because I've pre-purchased the F/A 18 and this noise is very annoying. :(
  13. [quote name= What are the fixes that your not telling us about....over 15000mb is quite large...Not being rude just curious....hummmm Mine was about the same size as well.
  14. This appears to be fixed with update 5. Can anyone else confirm?
  15. I was shocked and saddened to read about the sudden loss of this young man who was an active member of this world-wide community. I was stunned to learn he lived in the same town as I! Just another reminder of what a small world we live in and what a short time we have in it. RIP
  16. I'm seeing a very artificial grid pattern on the ground in Nevada lately. See attached image taken in the F15 Landing mission. Is anyone else seeing this? Any fix?
  17. Goa, I still get noticeable micro stuttering with the trackir, it's just not as bad as it was before. It would be nice if this could be totally eliminated.
  18. Thanks for posting this and thanks to Goa for asking the question. This has been something that has bothered me for a long time. Setting this to 1024 every frame has really smoothed out my TrackIR and I don't notice much if any frame rate hit.
  19. Everything looks great in 2.5. I play at 3440 X 1440 resolution and my frame rates have improved and stabilized over Caucasus. I really like the look of the snow in winter. The one thing that's really bothering me though is the stuttering. Its now very frequent and really is ruining the experience for me. Any advice to resolve appreciated. Edit: Forget what I said about stuttering. I just restarted DCS (after some minor graphics settings tweaks) and flew close to the same fast mission over beautiful snowy Caucasus without any stuttering at all. I'd bet it was the restart of DCS that solved my stuttering and not the minor tweaks I made. Back to enjoying the scenery.
  20. Just finished the last mission. Nice touch with the music at the end. Almost brought a tear to my eye. ;) I really enjoyed this. Nice job.
  21. I too have noticed a significant improvement in performance with this update. More fluid game play. They also finally fixed the too dark HUD with the bright green dot in the middle on the F15 when differed shading is selected.
  22. Please let us know when that patch is available to fix this issue. Thanks.
  23. Thanks for the prompt reply and update.
  24. I'm experiencing the same or similar issues. Chatter between the pilots has stopped and no communication from magic in any mission. This started occurring a few days ago. :dunno:
