In russian heli? Do you want to ground all BlackSharks?:D
-
I would try some good old classic - after short recon, simultaneously killing one or two first and last vehicles in the column (probably the most valuable and danger) from far distance in the narrowest part of the road should make nice big mess, not mentioning influence on morale. That would make rather chaotic spreading of enemy vehicles, instead of tactical regrouping. Escaping from ambush should be hard, killing "lucky" lonely trucks - shouldn't :) The key things are first – surprise, and then - hiding over hills and changing position to make tracking you hard. And of course keeping the distance. But I may be wrong :music_whistling:

Like comparing chess to this: http://www.weebls-stuff.com/games/Scissors+Paper+Stone

Nice software - any chance that we’ll see it as "Pimp up my heli" parts editor? :D

What is your preferred combat helicopter and why??

Unfortunately it couldn’t fly (no tail rotor or twin rotor) – it’s clear that Da Vinci lived before Newton :smilewink: -

Mi-24 - simply, violent and dreadful Hi-pitch noise of turbine engine isn't very pretty, probably you've thought about very characteristic sound of Huey's two blade rotor - not so charming in 4-blade version ;) -
You should see Mi-14 (PL or PS version) :D Kaman SH-2 is also not very "smooth" inside
-
Same thing with A-10 :joystick:

"River ride" forever! :D
-
I wonder if we'll be able to do things like that in DCS ;D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8t41avFuCc

Very nice looking models  But I hope Mi-24 will look better than now...

Urze, I bet you've used wrong kind of frogs, try this: http://sanca.tripod.com/rhacophorus_reinwardtii.htm

Laser warning and jamming system-so I was close ;) Thanks!

I've noticed on Ka-50 cockpit photos censored part on the left side of HUD. http://walkarounds.airforce.ru/avia/rus/kamov/ka-50/airforce_ru_ka-50_76.jpg DCS virtual cockpit doesn't have that thing at all, it is visible only on one photo taken from the outside. http://walkarounds.airforce.ru/avia/rus/kamov/ka-50/airforce_ru_ka-50_57.jpg It looks a bit like L-166 "Ispanka" steering panel, but it's hard to tell. Maybe it's similiar or newer system, any ideas? We can't see upper rear part of the aircraft, censored parts are also on the belly-something like two observation heads near main gear, what's that thing?

Accidents will always happend, but some planes are much safer in case of ie. engine failure than others-Osprey unfortunately belongs to this second group. Some constructions just ask for accident even because of small failure, generally all helis, but especially V-22, Chinook, Shavnee, and also Harrier or Jak-41 - all really hard or imposible to control in case of engine problems.

Look at first photo, at lavel flight rotor position-there's nothing to campare with blackhawk, you won't find any other aircraft with so big rotors and blades so close to pilot cabin AND turning in his direction in the same plane. He may feel a bit nervous if he think sometimes what can happend if blade rip of and fly towards him :)
-
It must be strange feeling-sitting in small cabin with realy big rotor twisting inches from your head...

We still don't have cars, tanks, trains w/o driver, not mention how many people would like to fly in plane without pilot? We had technology breakpoints that were supposed to replace old solutions (missles vs. gun artillery and planes, spy sattelites vs. "human" spies, great AT weapons vs. useless tanks), but none of tht things happend. One new invention (ie. something like large area communication/steering jamming) can make most of unmanned aircrafts useless, in some missions is very difficult to replace human senses by cold electronics, so I think that we'll enjoy manned planes for long time.

Reasoning for the Ka-50 cannon mounting.

Nobody deny that second crew member is useful-but man can't judge two machines only by number of heads inside- I think that's the point of Frost1e's F-16 example. And Apache fans can by touchy, indeed ;) -

Of course, and F-16B will do the same thing even to F-22 :D -
Eurasian medium fighters (what would you like to see?)

Viggen-you don't see it to often, MiG-23 next in line-probably not to big chances :/ -
Poll question: air/rotorcrafts in the DCS plans !

Mi-24 or (not so) fixed wing Su-24 :) -

There are also Mi-2URS and URPG with GAD system (9M32M STRZALA-2M missles). -
Try to search in other topics-about fixed one's. Or maybe let's make a compromise - V-22 would be great :)

Mi-14 would be nice instead of Mi-8/17:)
