  1. Yup, looks like that is it. superhornet.ru isn't registered so it cant be the other one :)
  2. How about some more sleuthing? I'm not going to pay for them to give me info but maybe some community sleuthing will help :). Since the a-10c.com and f-18c.com sites were recently registered, they don't seem to have come up in this search....yet. Did a search to see if there were any other domain names that julia at eagle.ru has registered and it came back with this list. The first 4 are easy to figure out: eagle.ru ka50.ru lockon.ru lock-on.ru But I am interested to see what website that starts with an S they registered in December Off the top of my head I cant think of the site they registered that starts wtih a T is either. The a-10c and f-18c sites should show up on that search some time....I have no idea how long it takes for them to update the info....When it updates it should give an idea if they registered any other website names. If they added a bunch of f-X.com sites they may be a ruse to keep ppl guessing :).
  3. I agree. I always hated contorting myself into strange positions so I could get my foot to activate the button on my HOTAS. :smilewink:
  4. I got a nice surprise last night in a campaign mission. Got takeoff clearance....took a quick look around turned on to the runway...waited a couple of seconds. Start my takeoff roll, as I am hitting about 80kts, two A-10s fly overhead and land right in front of me. I crossed my fingers to see if I could get enough speed to takeoff over top of them, but no luck :).
  5. Unlike the posts I have seen with it happening on takeoff, it happened to me last night on landing. I've attached a .trk file showing it happening...unfortunately you will have to fast forward through a lot of stuff to get to me landing though... I replayed the .trk file this morning and it still exploded when I touched down.
  6. Interesting....when I asked the question about CCRP, I was talking mainly about unguided bomb delivery. I haven't found anything different between setting CCRP mode in the profile or leaving it in CCIP mode in profile and changing the master mode to CCRP. I hadn't tried CCRP mode for rockets before. I just tried it and it is like Immel says above, the rockets are manually released in CCRP mode either way I tried. In the manual p 529, it also shows that it is a manual release in CCRP mode for the rockets. I was expecting that the rocket delivery in CCRP mode would be like unguided bombs....i.e. 9 mil, but it is a manual release. Unless something is wrong with in the manual and with the patched version, I guess, even in CCRP mode, the rocket release has to be done manually while maneuvering the plane to keep the rocket pipper within the solution cue. I had set the profile to ripple off 3, and expected them not to fire until the solution cue fell over top of the pipper, but they rippled off as soon as I hit the pickle button :)
  7. I was wondering when doing some of the bomb tossing last night, is there any real difference in setting a program to CCRP in the profile page, rather than selecting the bombs/rockets (with a CCIP profile) and then changing the master mode to CCRP?
  8. I tried some more after my post above and it seems with me at least that I was releasing the bombs at a higher nose up attitude than Wags did in his video. Have a feeling that the higher nose up the less accurate (bombs fly longer). Just tried a couple more times trying to keep the release ~10 degrees nose up and they were a bit more accurate.
  9. Ditto here. I just tried this with a simple mission that I made. Tried MK-82s, Training bombs and CBU-97s and they all tossed long. For me they were long around 200m+. I was rippling pairs. I had a set of targets at the center of the training X and a set of targets at the end of the X. Lets just say with the CBU-97s with my TGP at the center of the X, I ended up taking out all three targets I had at the end of the X (although the main part of the CBU grouping landed short of those targets). Maybe they have tweaked the release with the new patch (hope so if the above is true with the unpatched version).
  10. You are probably getting a "NO TRACK LAUNCH IHBT" message. When you slave the Mav to SPI it only ground stabilizes the Maverick. You must also to a TMS Forward Short to start the seeker head to track and lock. It is tough picking things out solely with the Mav seeeker head. The only thing I can recommend is when you to the original track and SPI mark with the TGB is to note the positions of the other targets in the area, may help you with the general direction to slew the second Mav after you shoot the first one. It also helps to zoom the seeker head in with China Hat Forward Short.
  11. I probably have a tendency to orbit too close to the front lines :). When I have everything squared away with the TGP (have already slaved all to the SPI) and I turn to roll into attack, many of the times it takes the Mav seeker to align with the SPI after a gimble lock. While orbiting it may be better to boresight the Mav, go back to TGB to get final targeting squared away. When rolling in on target Mav SOI, Slave all to SPI, and it should be a quick slew of the seeker head
  12. This may be a good place to ask this question...How *should* I be dealing with slaving the Mavs while orbiting etc (Just wondering how the real life guys do it). Usually when in a mission and I'm on the radio with JTAC. I'm in orbit, JTAC sends me the coordinates on the map. I hook and then set as SPI. After this I usually slave all to SPI, change to the TGP to search for target. While orbiting the Mav has a tendency to hit the seeker limit when at the 180 position and it has to slew all the way around to the other side. Is this slewing good for the Mav? especially if you have to orbit a bit.....should I just leave it slaved or maybe switch Mav to SOI and recage the seeker head to boresight and then reslave it when I am doing an attack run. Any ideas?
  13. Hope it also means when the boom contacts the plane it wont send my A-10 shooting up like it was using the boom as a ramp, and the 135 won't the boom to skewer my plane...and instead if it contacts it will bounce off. As for the datalink, i had *thought* that it was mentioned in a different thread they had found the problem...my memory may be wrong though :)
  14. Because of problems with the AI flights getting stuck and not taxiing correctly to the runway I change the parking positions for my flights in all of the Devil's Cross Campaign. I put myself in Hangar 31 and my wingie next to me (and for the missions with a second element in line on the same side). When starting to taxi out, I noticed that the doors swung out on top of the taxiway and to make the turn and still stay on the taxiway my wing passes through the door. No damage or anything, but the Hangar should be pushed back from the taxiway a bit for aesthetic reasons i guess. Below is a screenshot
  15. Was noticing in a mission last night that it was happening right around 3000ft for the transition. I don't quite understand why the haziness would occur inside of the cockpit (is this what really happens going into a cloud in an A-10?), or is this part of the bug also? thx for the reply.
  16. Not sure if this has cropped up. This only seems to have happened to me so far in the Devil's Cross campaign where there is heavy overcast weather. At the beginning of the mission everything is either hazy or foggy. Usually in climb-out after take off the haziness disappears and everything becomes sharp. Im not sure if this is a programming issue or something to do with video card settings. I'm attaching a couple of seconds video showing the transition from blurry to sharp. It happens other times during a mission, I never really notice when it gets blurry again, only notice it when it goes from blurry to sharp because it is an abrupt transition. I am not absolutely sure but sometimes I think this happens when looking at units in the same mission with the F7 key. ATI HD 5770 Latest Cat drivers (11.2) Disabled Catalyst AI Everything that I can set in drivers is set to application controlled
  17. On the first Devil's Cross mission I loaded out with some mavs + several CBU-105s (also works with CBU-97s in CCRP). Fire off a Mav on the first tank and then circle back to gain some separation. Where the column bunches up I slew my SPI to the bunch and then climb above the clouds to drop the CBUs, turns out to be a very effective tactic :).
  18. thanks for pointing that out, I mistakenly put a - in there (and took it out now :) )
  19. No problem Nate. The fix works like a charm EXCEPT you need to add gain = 0.5 upper case G will not work, it has to be lower case (for me at least)
  20. When I did the video I had all of the sound at 100% just for comparison, to cut down engine sound I turned it down to 80, but the cockpit clicks were barely audible. Since my posts above, Nate posted a way to change the engine sounds in a different thread I've yet to try it, but It sounds like a solution.
  21. DING! I think we have a winnar! Nearly every mission I play I go to the mission planner screen and mess with something. I was testing something out with the mission planner last night (was messing with JTAC and trying to get him to switch targets midstream). I think all I had to do was select the JTAC in the mission editor and save. When I tested out the mission he would not have any tasking for me when I checked in. I had to go back into the ME and reassign all of my triggers/settings for JTAC, even though everything looked OK in the ME. Looks like a general bug in the ME that when you select a unit it breaks/resets the settings for that unit. If the ED guys haven't figured this out yet, I think it would be useful to point it out to them. May have to make a post in the tech forums or something about it.
  22. Thanks for the info Nate. I was poking around a couple of days ago to find out what sdef file controlled the in cockpit engine sound so I could turn it down but after a couple of tries I gave up (didn't try those files though). Will try your suggestion to see how it goes. Slight gripe here Nate though.... A couple of days ago I posted a thread there in this forum about the engine sounds seeming to be louder post patch. That thread got moved to the Sound subforum in the tech support area and no one replied to it there. A similar question gets posted here in this form and it is promptly replied to. Are ED people actually reading through the threads in the tech support area or are they just sent there to die?
  23. I haven't been able to get the datalink data from JTAC anytime in this mission (with the default group ID). Was wondering, for those of you who did get the data (Mirtma and Irregular Programming) were you using the normal radio settings or the easy radio settings? I wonder if this has something to do with it.
  24. I agree. Thing is that DCS: A-10 WH and the way missions/campaigns work doesn't readily allow for a detailed debrief after a mission is over to let the pilot know just how they have affected the outcome. Yes it shows hard cold numbers on who shot who and how many targets may have been killed....but in the first mission here the pilot could fly by the book, check in with JTAC, kill a few tanks, be dismissed by JTAC for expending all of the ordinance, return and land...but not know if you actually succeeded in delaying the units. If you do all this within an hour and quarter and quit the mission you are rewarded with a score of 51 and proceed to the next mission. Did the pilots actions result in delaying the column? You don't know because it is not reflected in the mission score. Even worse, with the release version of the mission, you do everything you are told, like above, and return to base to find the AI is stuck on the runway and cannot get clearance to land and out of frustration your quit while in the air, you find a mission score of 50 and have the same mission come up again because you didn't get that 1 point for landing. I think the triggers that show a delay of the columns should come a bit earlier....at least have them start accruing points by the time a typical pilot is released from JTAC and lands back at home. This way they can land at base and see a score higher than 51, and know that the higher score was because they completed the goal of the mission....that is....to delay the advance of the Red units.
  25. From what I gather with the triggers and timing, you will only get assigned one column or the other...and if I am correct, the majority of times you will get assigned the more Western column....so don't be surprised if you almost never get assigned the Eastern column if you replay the mission a bit. I was wrong about the CAS-1 helping you out on that Eastern column. I looked at the ME and the tartets assigned for that flight are Helis, AA, IFV, & APCs...but NOT tanks...and the tanks lead the column so that flight will not help delay them. Also that flight will not push from their hold orbit until one of the columns come within 3500m of your front lines. (Note: I think the triggers are cool in that once the columns reach the front lines, your front line retreats a bit, tries to hold and then repeats until the NME reaches their staging area). I'm trying to think of a way to modify that mission a bit more to see if I can get JTAC to switch targets if you delay one column a bit...we will see how that works out :). I honestly think that the mission goals and points are a bit unfair for the loadout that you are given to start the mission. 4 mavs each + only a half tank of gas + no refuel. If you somehow delay both columns, you have to wait an hour and half total mission time to be able to get all 100 points for the mission. That is tough to impossible to do with such short fuel, and to wait around that hour and half is a real waste especially if you are out of ordinance. You could just RTB and ctrl-z to speed the mission through or something
