  1. Uhm, I don't want to appear to be mean or anything, but you guys do realize that this system has already been cracked? Please stop screwing us customers by putting all this Draconian DRM protection on your games. The truth is, those who want to back you will, and those who don't, won't. Mostly the pirates are poor kids with a lot of time on their hands who never would have bought the game anyway. Others who download the crack bought the game, but want the DRM off (i.e. ME ). So you see, the pirates in reality never cost you a dime. Your just wasting your money on schemes that are so easily cracked. Anyone that can read assembler and work with the registry, can crack DRM with ease. Why not please your customers, and let them play the game, instead of spending all their time fighting the DRM? Their the only ones your causing problems to. The pirates and smart people play your sims DRM free. In other words, the guys at StarFarce are just taking your money and laughing :megalol:. I hope you will stop giving it to them, and put it back into your awesome sims. Those who like your sims will support you.
  2. Your going to have problems. Its a BETA.
  3. Meh, pretty much my thoughts too. I wouldn't mind putting in a little time to help find bugs, but dammed if I'm going to pay good money to do it. Why would I pay to find bugs? They should be paying me.
  4. Lol, look at all the chumps calling ME a troll. Get a life guys.
  5. Oh, I'm a flight simmer of old, ever since Falcon AT. But there's no way I can justify spending $200 up on a HOTAS setup. That would break me. Too many other important things like rent and food. Besides, hitting the space bar with your big toe to fire isn't as bad as it seems.
  6. Yeah, if you ever put out a demo, me and a lot of others will see if it can run on our computers on not, then consider buying it. Till then, I think I'll stick with Arma 2.
  7. Well, no demo, and I will pass. I get the feeling this sim is going to take more power than Arma2, which is the current king at sucking power (even greater than Crysis ). If that is the case, than you can forget most people buying this sim. The average computer will just not be able to run it. Unfortunately, this is why Crysis kind of bombed. No one had enough power to play it, even though it was a great game. Hence, why the average joe really wants to see a demo before he buy's it. Not fun spending a ton of money on something and then not being able to run it.
  8. Well, most time demo's I've come across don't have a key. You install it on your computer, and it lets you run the game for so much time. After the time is up, it won't let you run it anymore. Seems pretty simple to me. I mean, really guys. I don't see how your company survives selling to only the handful of really hard core flight simmers who can afford cougar hotas and such. I myself use an old interlink elite controller that was used to train radio control airplane pilots. Works good, the only downside being there is no fire button :P. It gets fun. And I don't mind playing at very low graphics, its just that most people, including me, aren't going to buy a high priced game without a playing a demo of it first. We want to make very sure we are getting our money's worth for that price.
  9. Barely. I currently have a 2.4 ghz AMD Turion dual core and a Radeon 5400. It can play Crysis at low and Arma 2 at very low. About as much as I can afford. I would say this computer is just slightly under the average computer out there these days. Sorry to say, without a demo, a lot of the people I talk to on the internet are not going to buy your game. We really want to see what were getting before we plunk down $60. No demo, and most people are just going to stick with Arma and Crysis. I don't see what the huge problem is. Surely, a DRM scheme as complicated as StarForce should be able to do a time limit demo with ease. And thats all were asking for.
  10. I know a lot of you that bought it "blindly" are rich by my standards, and probably many others, so the people like me will wait for a demo. I don't drop $60 blindly on anything. That's like a month's worth of food to me. When you decide you want to sell to the people like me, put out a demo, and we'll take a look at it. Since its just one big map, I suggest a timed demo. 10 days limit would be fine.
  11. Same here, man. I'm waiting for a free demo. A 10 day trial would be good enough. I'm sure StarFarce can do that. No way am I blindly spending $60 on this sim.
  12. Lol, that's Arma 2 dude. Now if Eagle and Bohemia would just get together...
  13. Flight sims in general are already dead. I'm happily surprised that a company like DCS can still exist. But in order to continue to exist, you guys need to merge this ultra realistic flight sim with an FPS. Very few people want to play flight sims anymore. But if you take a look at Arma 2, they have a lot of players. DCS should really think about trying to merge with a company like Bohemia Interactive (Arma 2). That is the future for realistic sims. And believe me, sending large groups of ground humping FPS players to the next life all at once with an A-10 is great fun! :music_whistling:
  14. Well, its more expensive than mine, so for all us "non-niche" FPS players, i.e. most of the public, we'd like to see a demo. To see if it can actually fly on our mid end machines. Like all the other game companies put out. I would hate to see DCS go out of business because all they can sell to are the whole 50? 60? flight sim only people in the world. I see your using the new Starforce Online DMC, so why don't you just have it activate for, say, 10 days, so people can try it out. I think thats fair. And maybe I can get some of my FPS friends to try out something a little more complex. My dream is to get the FPS games like Crysis and Arma to merge with the best Flight Sims like DCS : X . Nothing like strafing the crap out some whiny FPS players who were stupid enough to form in a tight group.
  15. Hmm, are you guys going to release a demo with one map or something? I'm not about to spend $60 bucks on a game unless I know it can run decently on my machine first and be able to check it out (The Crysis problem made me very wary forever more ). I think $60 is a lot, but if its really good, I might buy it.
  16. Hi guys. Quick question. The sim looks good, but I see that it is internet activation now. I live out in the Texas backwoods, and internet here is spotty at best. Sometimes its up, sometimes its not. So, my question is, is it a one time activation, or is it constantly checking like in Black Shark? Cause I'd hate for my internet to be down, and not be able to play just because of a "cd" check.
  17. Personally, I use an old RealFlight Interlink controller that was meant for use with remote control planes. Works great. You might try just attaching a second joystick ( like one of those old atari style ones which you loosen an axis on ). I don't know if they make digital ones, all I've ever seen is analog.
  18. Nice model, but it looks kind of faded ( so does the sky ). Very ArmA-ish. I would love to see a bright, beautiful world like Crysis. I like ArmA's engine, but I REALLY hate their FADED world ! I hope you guys don't do the same!
  19. I don't know what you guys are doing. I regularly destroy light armor targets with two rockets and a direct hit. They are 80mm shaped charge warheads, so they should cut through that armor like it was butter. And besides, all you really have to do is kill the crew, and damage the controls to an unusable state. Now tanks like the T72 on up have a number of defenses meant to defeat older missles like rockets, such as explosive layers of armor and composite armor ( steel mixed with ceramic and other compounds ) like that found on the M1. Older rockets will need at least two hits on the same spot to get through explosive armor and the M1, T90 etc. have better types of armor and shapes meant to defeat shaped charge rounds. If you'll read in the manual, you'll notice the Vihkr has a tandem HEAT warhead ( i.e. two warheads, one behind the other ) meant to defeat explosive armor and give tougher modern armors a one, two punch. I believe the 122 mm rocket pods also have tandem warheads on the rockets. Use these for big game hunting and taking out hardened bunkers. Also, range should not really matter with a shaped charge. All that warhead has to do is touch the target at a good perpendicular angle to the skin, and explode. It has nothing to do with kinetic energy like on a depleted uranium round. When the shaped charge goes off, a stream of molten copper punches through the steel skin at around 1 million atm of pressure. Thats about 14 million pounds per square inch. Heat, pressure, spalling, and oxygen depletion kill the crew inside. I remember when I was in JrROTC attached to a National Guard Tank Company, one of the crew members used to joke that at least his death would be quick. The last thing he would see is a blinding white light.
  20. I'll write this partly for myself ( future reference in case I forget ). But, yeah, from my experience flying the sim, the ball really does not show slip. And if you think about it, why should it? The only thing it shows is Yaw and Bank. It was really meant to show just Yaw, but if you bank slightly or more, gravity will cause the ball to roll in the direction of the bank. Yaw is the opposite, inertia will cause the ball to roll in the opposite direction. I think thats right. :smartass: I agree that the wind vane sensors up front are very useful and should be combined with the ball for proper flight. In a steady hover they also show the wind that is blowing against you ( it bends the vanes while your still ).
  21. Well, gunsight works with rockets and cannon, but I don't think it works with anything else. Would make a good CCRP though if they would program it in. And if you use anything but the default rockets, you need to set the dial just to right of the seat telling the weapons computer what type of rockets you are firing so that it uses the correct calculation.
