  1. A poly count update: Thus far everything you see done on the F-14D has a total poly count thus far of: 9230 For the F-18F we are up to: 5764 thus far. So far I am feeling really good we can hit the 25000-35000 range for both and retain exceptional detail.
  2. Racer is at it again. Racer: "I have isolated the bottom fuselage portion of the F-14D and have added this new piece to the texture 2 map. You can see the spaces of white which represent the wheel doors. I would texture right over these area as I will just add the map to these pieces. Please update your map file with the link provided below."
  3. A update from Racer: "I have isolated the first component of the F-14D fuselage to begin texturing. I have included a picture which shows some of the existing detail for reference. You will now also see outlines in the texture which should help you to isloate key areas to avoid painting overlap where you do not want it. Next piece coming up."
  4. Racer is just a beast. Now the Super Hornet has wings. :pilotfly: Racer: "Well, I am whipped now. I have finished the F-18F wing texture map now for you texturing pleasure. Total F-18F Super Bug Poly Count Thus Far: 5764"
  5. Well some textures have now been added to the Tomcat now.
  6. Another update from Racer, Well we have finished the texture map for the F14-D wings. Please access the link below for the map. May the best man win. And a picture of what it looks like. The map is labeled to know what is where. Now back to the Super Bug for you Hornet fans out there.
  7. A update from Racer on the F-14D Tomcat. I have finished the modifications to the spoilers. Man is there the stuff hanging out on this wing! When we add in the swing of the wing this will be an animation masterpiece. (Or nightmare more than likely) lol (And yes I know the aileron goes down with the flap but it need it's separate animation for the aileron movement) I will generate the texture maps for the wings next and then move to the Super Bug wings. Total Polys on the F-14D thus far: 6752
  8. And the VF-213 Blacklion tail is up. (one atleast)
  9. Eric, Kato figured out how to get multiple models using the F-15 in the same mod last year for VFAT. http://forum.virtualthunderbirds.com/viewtopic.php?t=1817&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45 The link shows some screen shots of it. Possible of a Tomcat and Super Hornet sitting next to each other. Looks like it is a reality.
  10. An update of the F-14D Tomcat as EricJ has started texturing the Tails. And Racer is working on the Tomcats wings as we speak.
  11. :megalol: I guess you are right Nesher, but now they are a part of the Flightline. :pilotfly::thumbup:
  12. Tropper those look awesome and if want to send them to scootbutin303@msn.com, Scooter will put them up on our site. Also, welcome aboard, http://virtualnavairops.com/join.html  And Alfa, Racer is one real determined individual. :smilewink:
  13. Yes sir Eric...you will need to install it sooner or later.
  14. And a update for you all to enjoy:  Racer: "I thought I would tinker a bit with the CVN a bit. Here is a shot of the deck portion. This thing is huge! 369000 poly's in the deck! I could not figure out how something as flat as a board would have 369000 polys. Well, see all those little drain holes circles....150 points in each one of them. There is no reason those could not be in the texture. They are outa here! You can see on the left of the picture the remade polygons." Racer: "Well here's the new deck. CVN-69 Total poygon count to date: 196 (Down from over 369000) gezzz. Check it out. Still needs to have the drain holes added back into the texure yet. Here how I might want to handle the carrier model. I propose adding in just the deck over the Russian carrier first before doing any more details. Let's see where all the cats and rope pickup points are going to end up so we can situate these items. What do you think. You guys can fly off a deck right? " Racer: "And now we have some of the first textures coming in from Eric. Here are some shots of the Super Bug."
  15. Nesher, thanks for the comment. VNAO is just a piece of the pie. The real talent behind this project is Racer (modeling) and EricJ (texturing) that are really going to bring this project to great heights. And Sir Trooper, no problem posting here. Oh and by the way Trooper, WELCOME TO THE PIE.
  16. Thanks for the kind words everyone. And yes we are hoping this will change the Naval aspect of Lockon for everyone.:pilotfly:
  17. Will do Trooper. Glad to hear that everyone is supportive of the talent behind this project. Also, spoke to EricJ today and he will be texturing both aircraft. A ton of support behind Virtual Navy Ops. In the form of Racer doing the models and EricJ doing the textures. And we would like to that the community for the great support behind this massive project.
  18. And a update for everyone::thumbup: F-14 is coming together nicely. Also he has brought the SuperHornet up to speed with the Tomcat as he is working on both to make sure everything is still fresh in his mind. Also get them out a little quicker. And your SUPER HORNET!!! And a quote from Racer: "Moving right along guys. Doing these in tandom is clearly the way to go. It is still fresh in my head what I did on one and can quickly tranfer this over to the other. F-18F Hornet Super Bug Update: Total Poly Count thus far: 1720 I have now completed the model up to the same point as the F-14D model. I am also attaching the texture file as we will be doing this the same way as the F-14D. May the best texture win. On to the F-14D Wings next." Looking forward to posting future updates. :pilotfly:
  19. Alfa, as far as I know from Racer no work has begun on the Carrier. All models in that picture are from meshfactory as were purchased by Racer, EricJ and myself. Racer I am sure will shave the poly's down the best he can as he is doing the same right now for the Tomcat. And Trooper, I am sure it will, Racer is diving headstrong into this project, and really showing off his talents.
  20. Racer and myself decided it would be easier to have just one thread to track down instead of three. He will be posting updates for the F-14D Tomcat, F-18 Super Hornet F and new US Carrier all in this thread. So stay tuned for future updates. I leave you with the latest posted pic and also go to Virtual Navy Ops for more info. http://www.virtualnavairops.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9
  21. Thanks Trooper...that will be a big help as me and Racer were just discussing that last night.
  22. I have a new background!
  23. Love the picture Racer....even what its sitting on.
  24. Glad to see everything come together as I know how it is EricJ, buying a model and intenting it to go into game and seeing it just sit there. We are lucky enough that Racer is really undertaking a very big project. Bigger then I am sure anyone realizes after speaking with him. But glad a partnership between, EricJ, myself, Racer and Virtualnavairops can bring these two beautiful Fighters into Lockon and then some.
  25. Racer, with the new model will the refueling probe be correct for the Tomcat in game? Since the Tomcat will be going over the Su-33 model, the 33 has the refueling probe on the left. The Tomcat's is on the right. Is the possible to have this correct in the game or will the game not allow it? "use's idea presented to me."
