Hi guys. Just want to say as an ex Harrier engineer I’m loving the AV8B (tho I’m looking fwd the the real version GR7 ????). However as the F18’s capabilities increase I’m worried it’s going to push the Harrier to the back of the class so to speak. The recent GBU bugs & decrease in the sidearm effectiveness hasn’t helped as SEAD is very much it’s party piece at the moment & Ive been cursing the missiles recently. However the Harrier does have its real partY piece in reserve & im wondering if it’s in the pipeline, namely close air support & the use of Harrier hide systems. Currently the viggen can use its own FARPS to refuel & rearm but for the Harrier to attempt a realistic wooded hide system involves sticking a helo FARP next to a road & scraping your wing against it to rearm. While this is effective, I’m sure your agree it’s not ideal. Added to that there’s no way to remove trees & add hover pads & PSP taxiways. Being 10 mins from the AO I what the Harrier does. It’s missing a huge advantage over other modules at the moment & id hate it to be left behind as I think it’s the best or has the potential to be the best module in DCS. So can you comment on any of my comments & give us an idea if these abilities will be improved & added please? Keep up the good work guys. Can’t wait or the Falklands having been there twice.

Anyone having problems with the F18 on waypoint input accuracy & free fall bomb ripple spreading. I tried to bomb 3 wypts today which I input from the F10 & each was nearly a mile away from the actual target. Then I tried to hit targets by measuring the distance & using that to hit each of 3 targets with 3 bombs. In a diving free fall bomb run the aircraft cannot compute the distance. Totally useless. I’ve also noticed the F18 IAS is 29 kts slower than the Harrier or Mirage.

Hi guys. When I first bought the Harrier my AFC switch worked fine & was bound to my Warthog autopilot switch. However I’ve had to replace that joystick with the same model & i’ve reinstalled the game to the open beta version. Now AFC is unselectable. Either through key binding or clicking using the mouse. My gear is up, flaps up, over 160kts & straight & level. Any ideas? Rob

I’ve updated DCS as I had version 1.5. I have hud bars & reticules now but cannot fire sidewinders & guns.

The brake lever is in the correct position. You couldn’t really see it irl. You had to apply foot brakes to use the parking brake to prevent cable damage. However the Harrier brakes dissipate in quite a short period of time so the handle didn’t do a lot unless the engine was or had just been running or the pressure had been pumped up using the hand pump.

Have you guys tried the Harrier Facebook groups for info? I worked on the jet for 15 years & there’s a few pilots on there who may have info that you’ll find useful. Is there any update on training missions release date?

Hi guys. I’m having a few issues at the moment with both DCS & the Harrier. Game wise I cannot authenticate any of the modules I bought last year. They just keep asking for auth each time I start the game. Harrier wise I’m having a few probs. The HUD is incomplete. I have no horizon bars & no target reticule. I can get the rocket aiming circle but noting on air to air. It shows guns or aim9 selected & I get missile tone but there’s no reticule & I cant fire the guns or launch missiles. I haven’t tried bombs yet. This is an expensive module & it’s a bit disappointing at the moment. Thank you for any help. Regards Rob
