  1. !Thank's SkateZilla, I don't think I purchased the P-51D as a stand alone mod like i did for the Huey. It came as an extra or bonus from mabe the Huey purchase. however, last night I noticed that on the bottom of the startup screen there were some ( << >> ) buttons on each side of the module icons and I found the P-51D icon. So I guess I do have it. I will find a P-51D mission and try it to make sure it is installed ok.
  2. I may have missed something but the only way I see to change any settings for latest DCS (Steam Version that I bought about 2 weeks ago) I think it's 2.0, is when I'm playing in the game ((i.e in the Huey) and hit the ESC key and a window appears that I can select select a few options like setting the joystick, mouse ,and keyboard. Other than using the ESC key in game how do I change i.e screen resolution or select a different skin or turn on/off force feedback? Does the Steam version have all the DCS World apps included? or is the Steam version missing something?
  3. I never saw any PnP 'New Hardware Found' notice the cd just sat there. I'm sorta a noob when it comes to win 8.1 I had to open up the cd and look for a setup application (.exe file) file to run the setup . However, my new TMTFHX arrived today and I'm gonna test it out and see if it is better for me to use on the Huey. ----------------------- Post update: Yesterday, Thursdas, Sept 15, 2016 my Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X arrived. I tried it out on the Huey and I gave it a test on the DCS Huey and the KA-50 BS2. I was able to control the choppers better and setting the rudder and cyclic thinggy worked better for me than the MSWFF2. I now have to customise it a bit.
  4. Thank's Again, I was able to pull up the Controls Indicator but it is in a window on the top left corner of the monitor. The indicator window is abot 1.5 inches square. How do I enlarge it and place it somewhere else on the screen? There is also a yellow and green text window on the bottom left screen corner thst tells me of some options for the mission. (Hover Practice (for the Huey)). This window just appeared after I verified my game files through Steam. Steam found something wrong with the DCS files and re-installed it. I don't mind it that much but i'd like to know just how to turn it on anoff.
  5. !Thank's All, for all Your replies. Well, before I read the replies to my post, last night I took a chance and decided to install the MSWFF2. I plugged in the jousticsk into a rear pc usb port and started my computer. Win 8.1 pro gsve me no indication of any new hardware being found. Being mainly a Win XP and not to familiar with Win 8 I put in the SW cd and again nothing no start-up from the cd. I then opened up the cd and found a setup application and clicked it. The setup application started and installed the SWFF2 but did not allow me to test or configure the stick. However, when i checked the joystick in the devise manager it was there and working ok. I then found the calibration thinggy in the control panel and did the calibration. I tested the stick a Huey Hovering Practice mission and wan found the SWFF2 listed in along with the keyboard and mouse and the LE3D that i had already disconnected. the axis control setting were already populated. I wasable to get a better hover and i was able to fly around the map very well. Ao, it looks like the SWFF2 will be my helicopter joystick until I can test the TM Hotas X. I do have a question or two. 1. Should I un-instal the Microsoft SW setup and driver software? 2. Can someone who is using a SWFF2 tell me where I can get a Profile for the MSWFF2? 3. Should I use any Deadzone and Curvature? If so, how much Deadzone and how much Curvature should I use?
  6. Have ? About Huey Hovering Tutorial Sorry if this is not the place to put this thread but I did not see a stand alone Huey thread that some of the other aircraft seem to have , other than one for missions. I watched the (DCS: UH-1H Huey In-Game Training - Landing) (the video with over 16,000 views) on You Tube. And as the lesson was going on, there was on the Huey's lower right windshield a diagram with red lines and some yellow rectangles that seem to represent the foot and cyclic movements of the Huey. As the instructor moved his joystick the yellow rectangles also moved and there was also a small diamond in the center of the diagram that also moved. My question is: Is that window a window that I can also pull up and display while practicing to hover in the Huey? If I can display that window how or what key do I press to activate it. Please Help if You can........ Thank's...... SKY_FOXX
  7. I needed some help a day or two ago and the help given pointed me to a You Tube video. The person that made the video was flying a Huey and was using a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick. I have on order a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X, due to anytime at my PO Box any day now. I then remembered that I had the 1st MSWFF joystick and when it got broken I bought the MSWFF2. The MSWFF2 was USB and I could not use it. So I bought a Seitec low cost joystick to use with the BF1942 (Desert Combat mod) and some other games. Today, I looked for and found the almost like new MSWFF2 that I did not use (due to the lack of usb ports on my old computer). I also found the original MSWFF2 setup/driver cd still in the original joystick box. !OK, I'd like to use this wonderful joystick with the Huey and the KA50-2 along with the new Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X. I'm running Win 8.1 pro and need to know if I should use the original MSWFF2 setup/driver cd or get a newer driver made for Win 8.1 pro? The person in the You Tube vidio claims that the MSSFF2 is best for helicopters and the Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X will work better for airplanes. So, if I have both joysticks plugged at the same time will there be a conflict? Please reply if you can.... SKY_FOXx
  8. About two weeks ago I installed the DCS world and some modules from the Steam network. A few days layer I added the Huey. I think that the P51-D was a free bonus from that download but i can't be sure. However, I had the P-51-D icon listed with the SU25T, Combined Arms, KA50-2, Flaming Cliffs and the Huey. I also flew the P51-D a little but not very well. Sometime last Friday about 2 am in the morning there was some sort of Update going on from either Steam or DCS. So I stopped playing left the computer on and went to bed. I returned to play again about 8:PM Friday night and noticed that my P51-D was missing and the other modules were not installed. I used Steam's Verify Install thinggy and all the modules I listed above became installed (active) again. But the P-51-D did not reappear. Has anyone had this problem before? Or, can tell me just what to do to recover the P51-D? please Help in You can.... Thank's SKY_FOXX
  9. !Thank'S Yurgon, this will be nice addition to my collection tutorials. However this morning about 2am whilr trying to figure out just why I could not get the huey to hover I accidently hit the Right-Alt+J and a external view of the Huey appeared showing it starting to hover. i then hit the F1 key but but no internal view. I again hit the R-Alt+J key and the screen froze for a second or two and BINGO I was inside the Huey. I then started controlling it in a hover. I had used the Right Alt+J to get inside one of the tanks in a ground mission a few days ago. But, I did not think I needed to do an R-Alt+J for a Hover Training Mission. I don't feel so frustrated anymore. And now I can get frustrated all over again trying to figure out the best settings for my joystick. Thank's Again Yurgon, for Your quick reply....SKY_FOXX This problem is now ---> SOLVED
  10. I have Your Mission: Hover Practice installed and working ok. However, being new to DCS and the Huey module, after following many Huey startup tutorials I can't seem to get the Huey to hovet or move. Your mission has the Huey sitting on the airfield ground all started up. I need to know jwhat are the next steps to get off the ground (to hover). Can You tell me the next control or button to press next and so on. Or point me to some sort of tutorial that can give a step by step tutorial. I only have a mouse, keyboard and a Logitec Extreme 3DPro joystick to control the Huey. I'd also be happy just knowing just what are the controls I have to press or set for the Juey to fly without all of the radio and ground control stuff. Is there a Game mode for the aircraft? i'd like to learn how to fly the Huey before getting into all the extras that are not needed for basic flight. P.s. I do understand the DCS World and aircraft Modules are not a typical video game. I so have ARMA3, BF1942 (Desert Vombat mod}, BF3, BF4, BF2 and a few other programs with helichopter that I can fly very well. But, sometimes a person trying to learn something new gets hung-up or has missed a vital step and needs gets stuck and needs some HELP .... Please help if You can, Thank's SKY_FOXX
  11. !OK, I will give it a try and reply back when the new TM joystick arrives.
  12. Thank's majapahit, for Your quick and precise reply to my question. I have another ?: If i don't have a A-10C module I guess I'd put the file in \Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\KA-50\joystick\joystick- HOTAS Warthog? And if I don't see the folder of folders, do I just make one?
  13. !Hello All, I'm not new to Sims but DCS is harder to master. I have a question about joystick profiles. I have these modules: CA, FC3, KA-50 2, UH1-HUEY and a SU 25T. I've downloaded a few missions and have installed them. In my C:\Users\MY_Name\Saved_Games\DCS folder. I've been able to play some of them. However, my Logitech Extreame 3D Pro joystick for some of the aircraft has very little joystick controls inputted. I also have purached a TM Hotas Flight X that I intend to use for DCS, has not been delivered yet. I downloaded a profile for the LE3DPro and one for the TMHF-X but the read me's for those profiles do not say just where or in what file to place these .lua files. Can someone PLEASE tell me EXACTLY just where in what folder to place them. Do I place them somewhere inside my C:\Users\my_name\SAVED_GAMES\DCS\Missions folder or somewhere inside my DCS folder inside my Steam DCS folder. P.S, I'm using the Steam Version of DCS, so my DCS is in my Steam folder but that should not affect anything ,because the .MIZ mission files installed and worked ok. Please help Thank's SKY+FOXX ::
