I don't think it matters so much how you are setup, but the mistake you are making is probably that you're not setting the master mode to BER after landing, am I right? If I remember correctly you need to do this in order for the ELINT page to be filled out.
-
Thank and glad you like it! :) The Emitter 1/2 etc. is just taken directly from the kneepad ELINT report in game (well, actually it's taken from grunf's PDF, but he assembled that from the ELINT reports), so it's up for interpretation what it is and what defines an emitter. But I think it's basically whenever there's a new PRF frequency, it counts as a new emitter. So if a radar is scanning you with a certain PRF and then when it locks you up it goes into another PRF, that counts as 2 different emitters even though it's the same radar. In other cases it may also be 2 different radars like for systems which have separate search and tracking radars.

A closer alternative is Stenbäcks Flygmuseum, it's basically just a small farm where an old enthusiast has set up his own personal museum, but he has both a Viggen (not sure if it's the attack or fighter version) and a Draken, basically just parked in his backyard :) He's a super nice guy who loves to talk about aircraft, not sure how much English he speaks, but anyway I highly recommend it! I think he might even let you get in the cockpit if you ask. http://www.stenbacksflygmuseum.com/info Otherwise there's also Teknikens and sjöfartens hus in Malmö which is a pretty cool place, although they don't have a Viggen, but they have a Draken as well as a Swedish WW2 submarine that you are allowed to walk around in. http://malmo.se/Kultur--fritid/Kultur--noje/Museer--utstallningar/Malmo-Museer/Aktuella-utstallningar/Teknikens-och-Sjofartens-hus.html

I remember reading somewhere that you need to take off within 3 minutes of engaging NAV, so yeah I also engage it on the runway.
-
Where did you read that? Can you find the link?
-
They both use the same weapons-selector mode (Attack).

I'm with you on everything that you're saying but are you also saying that this is the way it was in real life? Because it just seems like a pretty major issue that they probably would have worked to find a solution to in real life, otherwise I can imagine losing quite a lot of pilots and planes to this little death-trap of a quirk in the aircraft. I mean, I guess it's possible it really was like this, being a fighter pilot has of course always been a rather dangerous job, but I somehow doubt it since it seems like it should be possible to design an aircraft which does not do this (even back then).
-
This! Supersonic in autopilot and then insta-blackout leading to insta-death when disabling autopilot, it has killed me many times already. Would really like to see it fixed since I'm guessing it can't be realistic, but I don't know if the problems lies in the autopilot or the g-force effects.
-
Same here! Glad it's getting fixed
-
You're right, should have thought about that. Oh well, maybe it's more work than it's worth, it just seemed like a pretty obvious thing to want to have so I figured maybe someone would have a solution for it, but I guess not. Maybe sometime in the future then, if Heatblur implements support for it.
-
No problem :)
-
Glad you like it and thanks! :) Can't do the missiles right now since they don't register correctly, but maybe ED/Heatblur will fix it in the future.
-
Thanks!

Pretty cool! It's not exactly what I wanted - but close :) Maybe one can take the lua code which does that and do the same thing but instead of going off letting it go to ground-idle? I guess I'll have to dig into the lua at some point and see if that's possible.
-
Thanks for the replies! I didn't know it was actually a button, good to know! But since it is - then shouldn't this be possible, at least with some help from Heatblur? If the "button" is pressed/held - throttle is in ground-idle, and as soon as it's released, then throttle is released and allowed to go to flight-idle or over. I haven't looked into lua-scripting so can anyone who has say if this would be possible to do or not?
-
Hello people, Have anyone been able to configure the Warthog throttle so that the idle detent corresponds to the flight-idle of the Viggen? I've only been able to make the forward detent work for military power, but the throttle axis doesn't even seem to be mapped beyond the rear detent. I was thinking that maybe someone who knows how to work the Target software could make some magic happen?
-
Yes that's exactly it! Thank you very much! :) So if I interpret this correctly you will only hear the synthetic signal from a CW emission if you're carrying a KA (U22) pod? Otherwise you won't hear CW emissions at all? But you will still get the synthetic signal from a PRF above 5K even without the KA pod?
-
Anyone know what the cut-off limits were for when the RWR switches to playing the "ambulans"-signal? I know I saw that somewhere a long time ago, maybe in the huge original Viggen thread, but maybe someone knows it by heart so I don't have to go digging?
-
Good to know, thanks!

I tried with an R-77 but it doesn't seem to work. In the ELINT report I had an emitter with a PRF of 0 and a silent duration of -0.1s. I think that was the missile and of course those numbers doesn't make any sense. But at least it enabled me to add the MiG-29S to the database :) I haven't tried with any other active missiles though, so if someone does then please post the results here.

Turns out my mistake was that I was generating sine wave tones when they should have been square, so it was a really simple fix and now they all sound pretty much exactly like they do in game.
-
Yeah it seems like the tones generated is not exactly the same as what you hear in-game. I don't know why this is, logically it should add up to being exactly the same tones since I'm just playing the PRF frequencies which is also what the Viggen RWR is supposed to do. I'll experiment a bit with it when I have the time, maybe the existing solution could be tweaked to fit what's actually in the game better, or maybe I can use the files you pointed to, I would have to do some sort of pitch-altering on them though so it's not my first option.
-
Normally yes - having some problems at the moment though, but should have it back up again in a couple of hours. Sorry about the downtime...
-
Haven't had the chance to test it myself yet so - really interesting, thanks! Definitely doesn't seem right the way it's implemented now, but WIP I guess...

Very good question, I can't contribute aything but I've also been wondering if it's really normal/realistic that the Viggen can't stay at high altitude without using the AB. I realize that it was designed primarily for low level flight, but still, it just seems a bit strange that it can't keep up with an airliner without using AB. Anyone know how realistic this is?
