yep running in reg dcs in server mode works for me. and it allows me to control via web GUI
-
Hi guys. I have figured out a workaround that appears to be working for me. I can access the web GUI just fine with this trick. I launch DCS using this command: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe" --server --force_disable_VR -w server1 As you can see, I have taken out the --norender option. I disabled rendering and added the following my autoexec.cfg: options.graphics.maxfps = 30 options.graphics.render3D = false crash_report_mode = "silent" disable_write_track = true webgui_port = 8088 it runs in dedicated server mode but you do not get the awesome performance as you do when using the --norender option. this allows me to access the server via webGUI. AI on the ground also work as normal this way as well. Maybe this will work for some of you guys as well.

For some reason when using the DCS World Dedicated Server AI enemy ground units will not fire back or will only fire at you when you are extremely close upon them. I have tested this on Windows 10, Windows Server 12, and Windows Server 16 with the same results. The only workaround I have found on the forums is to go back to the old school way of hosting and using a modified autoexec.cfg to disable rendering. options.graphics.render3D = false Hosting this way everything appears to work normally. but this hits up performance-wise. With the DCS dedicated server, it used very little resources compared to the old school way of hosting. Is the ED team aware of this issue? Anyone else seeing this problem. Think its been going on for some time now. Really would like to revert back to the dedicated server tool asap.

Why are the most unrealistic servers the most popular?
ElementLT replied to Boris's topic in Multiplayer
I could not agree with you more. Definitely some very constructive info here. im still fairly new compared to the OG's of the community who have been hosting for years. I have been like this :book: on this thread. Q: I also notice the very popular servers can host a great number of players. some with 50+ players (even pve server). So keeping in mind of being realistic, would the number of players also affect realism? And if so, if the popular servers were to switch to something more realistic would they have to worry about losing much of there fanbase? -
How to require "socket.http" from a script?
ElementLT replied to SilentSierra's topic in Mission Editor
im currently using Moose to compile all my data and using its scheduler feature to keep things updated. You can also use SLMOD which already has some really nice built-in features that will handle stat collection and I believe you can also see who is online. -
How to require "socket.http" from a script?
ElementLT replied to SilentSierra's topic in Mission Editor
have you tried editing your MissionScripting.lua? Look In C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts Edit MissionScripting.lua and comment out require or what ever else you might need. do --sanitizeModule('os') --sanitizeModule('io') --sanitizeModule('lfs') --require = nil loadlib = nil end -
really enjoyed this. nicely done!

Mission Editor doesn't remember last saved directory
ElementLT replied to ElementLT's topic in Mission Editor
thanks alot! i removed the settings.lua and let DCS create a new one and things are now back to normal! -
This isn't a huge issue But I have noticed that the mission editor no longer remembers the last directory I saved a file in. It appears to always default to my saved games/missions directory. And being a mission designer I actually do not normally save my missions here. Does anyone know of a workaround for this?
