  1. Hey, what do they do with the old HSI's when they replace them with the digital ones? Can I have one? :D
  2. /me waits for the now inevitable "patch dance" and multiplayer incompatibility...
  3. bump for an official answer to the OP please! Wags's post on the PCIP implies some answers to some of those, but a direct and unambiguous answer would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
  4. So the latest development update partially answers Q3, as the Shkval can be run on an additional screen on the same PC. I have seen elsewhere that the dev team plan to release the flight manual in advance of the sim, so that partially answers Q4. Otherwise I'm still in the dark, anyone? And Renato you're right, "go learn LUA" is not an appropriate answer to questions about outputs. We need to know what data elements are available from the sim before we can write the code to map it to our output hardware using LUA etc.
  5. Check mouser.com and digikey.com, they have a good range.
  6. /me bows to the master of KA-50 pitbuilding :) Thinking I might get one of those Proxxon X-Y milling tables, what's the model of yours Trigger? There's a similar one on this site but it doesn't look the same: http://www.mytoolstore.com.au/ Keep up the awesome work mate.
  7. There wasn't really an appropriate answer, so I didn't vote, but: No, because silver bullets are strategic weapons and not appropriate for a tactical sim.
  8. Couple of quick ones: 1. Will all cockpit functions be available with keymappings? 2. Will all keymappings be discrete (e.g. one for gear up and another for gear down) rather than toggles? 3. Will it be possible to run the ABRIS and Shkval displays on additional screens or on a LAN-linked PC display? 4. Can we get access to the keymap and panel map (i.e. what switches are on what panels, what they are for and what type of switch they are e.g. on-on-on toggle or locking pushbutton etc) in advance of release so that we can start building panels for our cockpits? 5. Will multiple controllers be supported? e.g. can I have an X45, an X52, CH pedals and Saitek throttle quadrant, plus other HIDs up to the Windows limit (e.g. BetaInnovations Plasma) all mapped to different axes? Thank you!
  9. Galimex, I think the point is that such plans do not exist, and the folks in this thread are discussing how such a pit should be built. For the person who asked about building a collective, I have started with an X45, you can see the idea here: http://pitblog.radsy.com/archives/00000147.htm I'd also recommend to all interested in a BS cockpit to check out ViperPit and Hovercontrol, both very active pitbuilding resources. Between the pitbuilding knowledge at ViperPit, and the helo knowledge at Hovercontrol, you'll have everything you need.
  10. Goodness, I had better update it more often! The design there looks pretty good trigger! IMHO CAD is all very well and I have used it often myself, but I'd also recommend having a look at balsa and artboard. It is a very easy and tactile way of figuring out dimensions (especially for non-standard projects and modifications) and for those who are toying with the idea, can even be used to demonstrate to significant others how easily it can be disassembled :)
  11. Hi guys, I'm very interested in what's happening with pitbuilding for BS. My site is here - http://pitblog.radsy.com - and it's set up currently for FSX and F4AF. I would seriously recommend starting from the Akers-Barnes Cockpit plans if you're starting out, it is wonderfully modifiable and portable. Has there been a keymap and/or panel map released for BS so we can start planning what switches and buttons we need? It looks to me like the MFD on the right has 5 buttons along the bottom and 2 single-axis rotaries, is that correct? On the keyboard encoders, I'd definitely recommend the BetaInnovations stuff, it's the best on the market I reckon. Cheers rup
