  1. I don't think we can limit loads in 1.1

At first I thought "Cool load up 1.02 missions and limit the loads" However we found out last night that blackouts dont work properly in 1.02 missions when playing 1.1

Cobra replicated the head to head guns mission and the differences became obvious. Also the stuttering seemed to disappear.

  2. This Thread is Dedicated to New Pilots Flying "Flaming CLiffs". The Official Add-On for "Lock On Modern Air Combat"

To play Flaming Cliffs online, You must first purchase the Flaming Cliffs Add-On by Eagle Dynamics Via The Lockon.ru Website. Or if in the US you may find "Lock-On Gold" on CD which includes the Addon.

Please read the "How To's" carefully. They can be found in the Forums.

Be sure to completely uninstall any earlier versions of Lock On and also the Flaming Cliffs Demo. Be sure to delete the "Eagle Dynamics Directory" in "Program Files" with Explorer before starting the new installation. To minimise the chance of a conflict with earlier versions of LO-MAC in the registry it is a good idea to change the install directory by removing the "Ubisoft\" Portion. The new address would read "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On". Check http://lockon.ru for any patches. Such as 1.11 or 1.12.

Hyperlobby is the only place to play online. It can be downloaded here

Some Routers/Firewalls require TCP port 1698

To host LO-MAC Online both TCP and UDP Ports 10308 need to be open if behind a Firewall/Router.

Most players use Teamspeak and its what we the 169th recommend. It can be downloaded here

We have a Teamspeak Server open to public. IP is 65.61.183.89 and the password is "panthers". There is nearly allways a few players connected and we are allways happy to help out the new guys.

It is extremely important when joining a server that the connection speed be altered to "XDSL 128/128 Kbit/s".

This is done at the Multiplayer screen by switching to "STOP" and then changing the default setting "Modem 33.6" to "XDSL 128/128 Kbit/s"

    The Golden Rules

    ** Allways Read The Brief

** Most servers do not allow Vulching (shooting aircraft whilst they are still on the ground)

** If you change your loadout or create a new one it is most important to SAVE IT. If you dont save the load then your aircraft missiles will be invisible to everyone else on the server. Not only that but your kills will not register and you will not get a score.

** Do not use Mods unless the server specifies. Not only are they looked apon as cheats, but they also make servers unstable when they do not have the same mods installed. Mods are not scenery changes. Mods are aircraft modifications like the F16 and F18 or Loadout mods such as the AIM54C on Su27's. (Shepski's A-10 Realistic Load-Out Mod was meant to be released with Flaming Cliffs and is therefor ok to use in any server)

** Most of all have fun and respect your opponents.

"The best pilots are not the ones with the most kills. They are the ones who can acknowledge a good kill".

  3. Problem: when I choose any campaign i have no Fly option the button is just grey and won't depress.

What can I check to see if my Flaming Cliffs Campaign is correctly installed. I haven't used any mods, Only changed a few of the key commands and created a pilot. Maybe the file size or something can tell me whether the campaign section is corrupted ? I really don't want to reinstall from scratch using up a registration unless there is no other choice.

  4. Did you completely remove Lomac 1.02 including the Eagle Dynamics Directory ?

Also completely remove the Flaming Cliffs Demo if that is installed.

you could also try doing what I did which was, when I reinstalled Lomac 1.00 I altered the Directory adress by removing the "Ubisoft" part. Now it says ""C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\LockOn.exe". This guarantees a fresh install even in the registry. It also makes more sense as Ubi have dis-owned LO-MAC

  5. Some Issues I've experienced.

    1. Default network connection speeed is still 33.6 for CLients. I think we all know what sort of problems that can cause.

    2. Camapign Start button is blank and will not depress (Use Drop Down Menu instead)

    3. "\" Communication Menu Command works once if I remap it. But thereafter will not work at all. (Seemed to be related to Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1A. Changed to Standard Microsft Internet Keyboard and Microsoft Optical mouse and the problem disappeared)

    4. Tutorial says "Shift SpaceBar" for Su25 Select Gunpods 2 or 4. When in actual fact "Ctl-Spacebar" (Change the Ripple Quantity) is the correct command.

  6. To see padlocking target data in the status bar set ShowTargetInfo = true in the Config/View/Server.lua file. This is not a bug but an anti-cheat feature :)

    Ok Valery thankyou

  7. Looks like 1.1 in multiplayer has a tendency of confusing player names in (F5) external views. I see my self as all other aircraft. Seems to be the case for all others in the same game. They see other aircraft names as themselves after a couple of respawns.

  8. That does not make sense, LO-MAC is here, Eagle Dynamics believe in Combat Flight Simulators as a financially viable product. What other Developers have failed at is irrelevant. Remember none of those products are as good either. the better the product is and the bigger the market is the better the chance of survival. Its just a matter of time

  9. Hmm... well with more and more people getting broadband paying for and downloading software instead of buying it off a shelf inevitably becomes a viable option for devopers as well as consumers. I find it hard to believe that the market is as small as you say.

  10. Another important point I think is before LO-MAC was even released The F18 was allways intended to be a flyable in this sim. It was only because of time contraints and budget that it was never completed. So that being the case what right does UBI have in saying it cant be "finished"?

  11. If what you say is true, why is it not possible to distribute an F18 Study sim in the same manner as Flaming cliffs and make a profit?. I would have thought that if this system of online purchasing works, then it would also be more cost efficient and therefore MORE profitable.

  12. It's not that it can't be done - it's just that the return ED is going to get from the huge investment in time, work and effort is just not worth it, especially when Ubisoft owns the rights to the Flanker/Lock On engine.

That's why after V1.2, ED's going to start from scratch on a completely new game. So I've heard, anyway.

Great place to start. The return for effort. This point I STRONGLY Disagree.

I believe the F18 would make this sim appealing to a huge market. Now UBI might own the name of LO-MAC but they dont own the Code. That still belongs to Eagle Dynamics (at least that's how I understand it). A new name, lets for arguments sake use "Flanker Vs Hornet" or "FvH" along with the development of the code to a new Study Sim of the F18 would be completely legitimate and viable.
