  1. In real life Auto bombing mode seems to be rather accurate with MK 82's. In this video the target is designated by radar. But at the end of the day that should amount to the same as a perfectly positioned point on the HUD. I wan't a two seat hornet, just to hear the guy in the back getting of on my bombing skills  check 26:47
  2. You could use it for the radar elevation or for the HSI Course line.
  3. If you live in the Zurich area: At the end of August I will move my setup to the office for a few weeks. It's located in Zurich Binz. So if you wan't to check out the stick, feel free to send me a pm.
  4. That's true but I never really used the third coolie hat. On the other hand we're gaining a Sensor Select Switch with a down button. As stated in the review the overall build quality is good and the buttons feel more refined than on the warthog. For all those flying the Hornet it is a super upgrade. I perfectly aligned it in VR, to enhance the immersion. It's rather creepy when you squint through the nose part of the VR googles and see half of the virtual stick and half of the real stick. Matrix style. If you can afford it go for it ;-)
  5. Got my hornet stick in the mail this morning! For those of you living in Switzerland you can currently order the stick here: https://www.conrad.ch/de/p/thrustmaster-f-a-18c-hornet-hotas-add-on-grip-joystick-pc-1848899.html
  6. Top Gun 2 Trailer is out ???????????? Seems to be released an hour ago Lots of Hornets (E/F) An what is that F14 doing at the and?
  7. That seems to fix the issue. I can switch to IFA when airborne and the velocity vector will continue to work.
  8. I waited until alignment was done, so It can't be due to that:(
  9. In the current open beta I noticed that the HUD velocity vector is not working after a cold start. I followed the startup acording to tricker's tutorial video. Also it seems the radar altimeter is not indicating. has there been a new subsystem been added that I must turn on during startup?
  10. Thanks for the replies. I checked the NATOPS and it states that the TOT indeed includes the following waypoints in to the calculation. So i presume the DCS TOT works the same.
  11. I watched Wags Video on the TOT function of the Hornet and so I am familiar on how to set up the parameters. My question is: Does the TOT calculation also take in to account the flight path of the waypoint sequence? For example: Im currently at waypoint 0 If I set waypoint 5 as my TOT waypoint and Waypoint 1,2,3,4 are not in a straight line in regards to waypoint 5, will the TOT take this in to account?
  12. Thanks aaron886! I sort of get the idea, well I hope someone does a video tutorial later on in open beta. I see the line rotating when in a fight even if i'm not. You mention it relates to my plane of motion. Could it be that the line relates to the targets plane of motion?
  13. Can anybody explain to me how to use / interpret the foresight cue? I read the part in the manual, however I don't really understand the paragraph. I understand it shows the manoeuvre capability of the plane locked when puling 9 g. But shouldn't that relate to a certain time? Like if it pulls 9 g it would be there in like 2-3 seconds?
  14. Hi Guys, I recently got the chance to participate in an aerobatic training course in Switzerland. So I thought I post a short video with some highlights here. It's probably the closest civilians can get to the feeling of being in a dog fight :). I highly recommend flying as a passenger if you ever get the chance. The plane we flew is a Votec 252: http://www.mswaviation.com/votec-252-sbs.html Us newbies didn't even get close to maxing it out.:pilotfly:
  15. I just noticed that NCTR works from either the nose or tail, so that explains how IFF is possible in Wags video.
  16. Can someone explain how an IFF is possible in this part of Wags video? He is attacking from the rear so I guess a NCTR is not possible. Earlier in the same video he states that NCTR and Mode 4 IFF are required to identify a hostile. So why is a Mode 4 IFF sufficient to identify the target as hostile in such a situation?
  17. Tanks for clarifying!
  18. It would sort of make sense that the button is spring loaded. I noticed the program (aft / fwd) doesn't abort once it is started. Therefore a boat switch would not make sense to me. Ist there any one here with first hand knowledge of the Hornet throttle control?
  19. I am not quite sure how the dispense switch in the real hornet operates. Does it spring load back to the center position after pushing it forward / backward? The reason I am asking ist because on my Warthog HOTAS I could map it to the boat button below the speedbrake (which has a fixed forward / backward position). Or I could map it to the SS Button higher up which re centers automatically after pressing.
  20. thanks for your answers! I think ED should add a mil and afterburner axis range. Figuring out the AB point by trial and error doesn‘t seem the best way for me.
  21. I din't find any values in the NATOPS. Also the fuel flow seems to vary with altitude. Anyway it would be great if we cloud link the AB detent on our throttle to the simulations AB event.
