  1. I just wanted to post that I uploaded a P-51D Mustang mission to the user files section. See the link below: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3308187/ The premise of the mission is that you've been contacted by some government official about taking part in a Top Secret mission. You haven't been given any other details, so in order to begin you must first take off. Once you're airborne and en route, you'll be briefed on the situation. The mission itself is deceptively difficult. You will be tasked with striking a target using whatever weapons you wish; however, in order to acquire those weapons you will need to land at the "carrier" (Tarawa). Additionally, if you take too long to adequately destroy the primary targets, you could be in for quite a fight for sticking around. Also be warned : this was my first real venture into voice action for mission creation, so apologies in advance in-case the dialogue is a bit... cringy lol. I've also made sure to include different voice lines depending on the state you're in when you complete the mission and RTB. For example, if you destroy ALL of the primary targets instead of the minimum required for mission success, you'll get more respect after landing back at the Tarawa. Or if you decide to RTB to your original airfield instead, you'll be greeted by ATC who will take notice of any damage you sustained before coming back. Let me know what ya'll think! If you'd like to see a gameplay video of the mission, see my own attempt at it here: See if you can do any better!
  2. Thanks Zeus - that's fantastic info! I was assuming GPS guided munitions were the end-all to any other form of guided munition with dime-sized precision... but I guess that's what media would have had me to believe. I didn't once consider browsing through the wiki page for JDAMs, but everything lines up with what you said. Thanks!
  3. Hey all, Since I've been using the GBU-38 lately, its inconsistency during regular gameplay was driving me crazy. At some points it was hitting my target square in the teeth, but at other points it misses by at least 10 feet. I finally decided enough was enough and decided to run a test with multiple % 5 times each at the same speed/altitude. Below are my results against a T-90 armored unit: Launch Acceptable Range Percentage: 100 Destroyed, accurate Missed, right 3/4 T-90 length Missed, right/short 1/2 T-90 length Destroyed, left 1/4 T-90 length Destroyed, left 1/2 T-90 length Launch Acceptable Range Percentage: 01 Destroyed, left/short 1/4 T-90 length Destroyed, accurate Destroyed, short 1/4 T-90 length Missed, right full T-90 length Destroyed, right/short 1/4 T-90 length Launch Acceptable Range Percentage: 50 Destroyed, long 1/4 T-90 length Destroyed, accurate Destroyed, short 1/4 T-90 length Missed, right 1/2 T-90 length Destroyed, left 1/2 T-90 length (hit barrel) Launch Acceptable Range Percentage: 25 Missed, right full T-90 length Destroyed, accurate Missed, right/short 1/2 T-90 length Destroyed, accurate Missed, left full T-90 length Annnd that's it. Make what you will of the results... but I very much dislike how inconsistent this GPS guided weapon is turning out to be.
  4. Hi all, I was browsing through the post history here and the latest info I could find with my attempts was from late 2017. Do we by chance have any more recent info on whether we'll be getting the Harrier II+? Is RAZBAM still waiting on the AG radar to be implemented by ED before working on this?
  5. Mission file: SAM Valley v1.0 Mission Description: A single player mission for the AV-8B including AAR, low level, high speed flying though the valley's of Ingury and Baksan river and bombing a highly defended enemy command bunker. Difficulty is intermediate/moderate Some basic evasive flying skills might be required Duration is about 1 hour (so ideal for people with not too much spare time) No mods required Loadout and fuel qty can be changed at will to avoid having to do AAR (though keep in mind you will need to destroy a bunker) For some extra difficulty you could edit the mission to nighttime In my attempt, I went ahead and changed it to a night mission for the added difficulty. Hopefully it's entertaining - let me know how I did!
  6. Issue: The immortality enabled setting in the Advanced Waypoint Actions is not being respected by any FC3 aircraft. Please see attached mission to quickly test this issue. Steps to Reproduce: Load the attached mission "Immortality_Bug_Test.miz" in Mission Editor Confirm that Immortality(On) is set for all fixed wing aircraft Start mission and select any non-FC3 aircraft. Ex. AV-8B Fly aircraft straight into the ground and confirm aircraft is NOT destroyed Choose slot and select a FC3 aircraft. Ex. F-15C Fly FC3 aircraft straight into the ground Expected Results: FC3 aircraft should NOT be destroyed since Immortality setting is On Actual Results: FC3 aircraft is destroyed despite the Immortality(On) setting See below YouTube video demonstration of issue and comparison against other aircraft: *note* the above YouTube video was created before I knew this affected all FC3 aircraft and not just the F-15C Immortality_Bug_Test.miz
  7. Not an update, but here's a quick video I put together explaining what can be observed in-game from the KC-135 BDA phantom basket bug and a potential... workaround? Sorta? Not really...
  8. Hi all, I ran into this strange instant left-hand aileron roll when I jettisoned 4 fuel tanks for the Harrier. I haven't had a chance to test this again to narrow down the issue, but I thought I'd post it for others to theorize/test themselves: https://clips.twitch.tv/BoringSlickSandwichMikeHogu Below is the best steps to replicate I can think of. I'll give these a shot once I'm back from the office tonight: Setup a Harrier, hot ground start with only 4 empty fuel tanks Setup a KC-130 tanker. I had mine at 10,000 ft flying 220 knots Start mission and head off towards the KC-130 Set fuel gauge to read the outboard tanks Refuel until the outboard tanks fill to about 1300 lbs each Disconnect and separate from KC-130 Fly straight and level, perhaps with AFC on Jettison Fuel tanks using preset knob position for FUEL Expected Results: Tanks should jettison without issue Actual Results: Harrier is thrown into an unrecoverable left-hand aileron roll Full video can be found here if you want to see the details of what was done leading up to the uncontrolled state:
  9. Sultans of Persia <-- mission download link Duke it out in intense low-level, building-dodging dogfights and become the SULTANS OF PERSIA! This MULTIPLAYER mission is your standard 'King of the Hill' game-mode but with a prop head twist - it is WARBIRDS ONLY over the skies of the PERSIAN GULF. Take to the skies in your favorite WWII plane and attempt to capture the area marked with SMOKE AND FIRE. The objective of the mission is to be the first team to 100 points by staying within the RING OF FIRE surrounding the BURJ KHALIFA; but be warned! You must also stay BELOW BUILDING HEIGHT in order to gain points ... if you try and go for a high yo-yo for an advantageous shot on your opponent, you sacrifice being able to score points by doing so. Additionally, your opponent could very will zip and weave between buildings to avoid your incoming fire, forcing an overshoot right into a concrete tower! Both RED and BLUE sides all have the same Warbirds; however, their skins have been pre-chosen to help with IFF. BLUES have mostly blue skins while REDS have either red skins or not-blue skins (limits of default skins). Both RED and BLUE sides are air-started, so once you crash and die (because you will), you'll be able to immediately respawn and get right back into the action. Once either team reaches 100 points, an air raid siren will sound off an announce the winner. From there the mission will end and it is up to the server to re-run it or switch to a different mission Changes: Restart without ending mission (kill all units, reset points). Workaround for mission end bug. Changed start time to morning to allow extended online sessions Added weather effects: minor winds, rain, cloud cover To-Do List: Implement "power-ups" to award teams which achieve X points. For example, team to hit 20 points causes flares to shoot from all enemy team units for 10 minutes. Or team to win a round receives a random skill AI to assist in the next round Implement ways to punish players cheating the scoring system (landing instead of flying to capture points) Download and implement better skins to more easily identify friend from foe Find a way to gain points by shooting down opposing players Tune game settings for warbird matches (ex. increase points required to win?) etc etc I'm hosting a server with this mission running: Server name: Sluggers Server Server mission: Sultans of Persia Map: Persian Gulf Available Planes: TF-51D, P-51D, BF 109, Fw 190, Spitfire Note: I'm also at the office during the day, so if the server crashes for some reason, I won't be able to restart it until I'm off the clock
  10. Kings of Vegas<-- link to mission file This MULTIPLAYER mission is a classic King of the Hill style game mode with a rotor-head twist in Vegas - basically HeloQuake. Keep control over the area marked with BLACK SMOKE AND FIRE on the VEGAS STRIP and the first team to 100 points WINS. The only way to gain points is if you are the only team occupying the hill. Both teams have all the same helicopters, so pay special attention to the colors your teammates have and DO NOT TEAMKILL! Weave in and out of buildings for cover and become the KINGS OF VEGAS! This mission is great for settling scores in 1v1s, or having as much as 16 vs 16 HeloQuake (16 vs 16 is NOT recommended....). But be careful! The hill's altitude is also restricted, so you will not gain points if you are too high up! To-Do list: 1. Once I figure out how to add points via kills, then kills will be another way to get points. 2. Look into how to implement an on/off for friendly fire 3. Download high contrast skins for each helicopter to easily identify friend from foe Bugs: There is a bug with the way Trigger zones and flags work when a player is in the capture area but leaves unnaturally - for example if they get disconnected, choose a new aircraft, lag out, etc. Basically the scoring system will crap out and stop counting for that player's entire team and will require a mission restart to fix. I haven't found a way to work around this yet :(

Also, please let me know if you find any game breaking bugs as I do want to improve on this initial attempt Edit: Hill altitude restriction implemented. If you go for an advantageous position over your enemy, you will likely sacrifice points as a result. This is to encourage staying low and using buildings as cover.
  12. And just finished. Looks like updating solved it for me! Thanks Jabbers!
  13. Sorry I haven't tested this yet. Ran out of disk space during the update and now I'm having issues. But I'll report back once I fix my installation.
  14. Should be DCS 1.5.5: 00000.110 INFO DCS: DCS/1.5.5.58891 (x86_64; Windows/10.0.14393)
  15. Hey Jabbers, First off thanks so much for creating this. Unfortunately I've never gotten this to work as I'm having issues - it seems the window wants to replicate itself over and over again. This is possibly due to the following ERROR: The above just repeats over and over again in the dcs.log file. Additionally, the Twitch2DCS.log file repeats "Setting UI to write mode" over and over again: Within a few seconds, the performance of the game suffers severely as more and more windows are created (looks to be about 20 - 22 windows every second). As far as a testcase .. I've simply followed your new installation steps: Another thing I noticed is that the Twitch2DCSConfig.lua is edited after DCS is launched. I saw the following added changes to the file that might be worth mentioning: I'll try enabling ["debugMode"] and update this reply in-case I can figure out where the debug information is generated. Let me know if there's anything else you would like to know from my testcase/setup/logs. Regards, Tuuvas EDIT - I just tried enabling debugMode, but I can't find anything which has the string "DEBUG". I've tried to grep -r 'DEBUG' on the entire DCS folder, but nothing returns... at least nothing ending in .log. Twitch2DCS_Logs.zip
