When loading VA and Viacom Pro, I get the following message: "Voice Attack version check error Unable to connect to server" What server? Everything seems to be working ok even with this message. I did have an issue with multiplayer, but then I went into the config stuff and found the MP tab and checked use with MP. What does the display info tab do?

derammo Thanks for the info. For now, I just use a mod manager to go between the two versions of the F18 lua in Helios>Mods. The two versions are CZ's F18 lua and the combined CZ and Bluefin F18 lua that I made. However, one export file can handle both.

Stewmanji OK. I combined the export files for Bluefin and CZ for the F18 in the Helios>Mod file and it seems to work for Bluefin's stuff. The only issue is that Bluefin used the F18 for his interface and CZ used the A10 for his interface so none of the CZ profile works. But still a good solution as now I only have one export file for both Bluefin and CZ.

Hawkeye60 I did all of that but what is the deal with the "bin" file from FC3? Where in the game do the planes appear so that you can choose them?

Sorry for being a jerk, but could someone explain to me in English how to get these mods to work. I am doing something wrong.

It was a great idea, but no joy. Some stuff worked and some didn't. I suspect that there is a conflict between Blue's F18 profile export and CZ's F18 export file. When I have the time to play with this, my thought would be to delete the F18 lua file in CZ's export mod folder and see if that eliminates the issue. You don't have that issue as the AV-8B is not one of CZ's profiles so there would be no conflict.

Stewmanji I use BluFin's special F18 profile and the export file generated from his profile. This export file is not compatable with Capt Zeen's profiles and export file. Therefore, presently, I have to have two export files and have to go back and forth depending on which profile (Buefin's or CZ's) profiles that I am using. So all you did was copy the contains of the AV88 export file into CZ's regular profile? If so, I may try it with the F18. Where did you paste it into Cz's export file?

Using the BluFinBima UFC and the IFEI Today, with the help of Capt Zeen, I was finally able to get the UFC and the IFEI working based on the video by BluFinBima on youTube. The “trick” is to use the export file that is created by the Helios program when you use the F18 interface developed by BluFinBima. It seems that the export file(s) created by Capt Zeen are not compatible with the F18 interface and the export file developed by BluFinBima. The advantage to using the UFC and the IFEI developed by BluFinBima is that no coding and no viewports are needed for the UFC and the IFEI. In addition, they are very easy to move around the screen. As my eyesight is rather poor, I wanted to increase the size of the MFD viewports and together with the above UFC and IFEI, you get a cockpit that is easy to use in a “hot” jet. See attached

That makes sense. In his video, I assumed that he just skipped over the place where he made an export file. So the export file is made within Helios after he selects the F18 interface? That is something that is not obvious in the video. I never would have thought of that.

BluFinBima or anyone else I have tried to use BlueFinBima's Hornet IFEI and UFC and have followed his video using the F18 interface. However, even though the bindings appear in the profile editor, neither the IFEI nor the UFC seem to work or display any numbers. I cannot seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. I have also deleted the viewport assignments for the IFEI and UFC and finally, in a last attempt, I have deleted the lines of code in the IFEI and UFC init files with respect to the name of the init that is required for CaptZeen's profile. But still no joy.

Jak525 First, let me say that your Hoggit discussion of the F18 is fantastic and contains a wealth of information. I cannot tell you how many hours I spent trying to understand items 17-19. I finally solved the problem after watching a video. Second, I will be going through your discussion in some detail and if I find any more suggestions or confusion, I would like to write directly to you rather than put it up for general comment. Would you prefer that I write to you directly and if so how?

The Hoggit discussion of the Attack Radar has a diagram of the radar which is attached to this message. It labels items 17-19 as follows: 17. A/A Waypoint-TDC BRA - Bearing and range from the A/A waypoint to the TDC cursor. 18. Aircraft-TDC BRA - Bearing and range from the aircraft to the TDC cursor. 19. A/A Waypoint-Aircraft BRA - Bearing and range from the A/A waypoint to the aircraft I understand 18 but have a question/confusion and 17 and 19. It seems to me that 17 should be from Bull to my aircraft and not from Bull to the TDC. For 19, I thought this was from Bull to the TDC and not from Bull to my aircraft. My interpretation is based on the most recent video by the Grim Reapers. Please clarify my confusion. Thanks. radar.pdf

Zoid1 Got the map to work. Thanks. I do not understand how to code the input and output for the 2 EHSI knobs. Where is the increment that you refer to?

Your MFDs seem to be darker than mine while your HSI is very readable. Did you do anything special to them? What did you do to make the course and heading dials work? I used your custom boarders for the HSI and the two knobs, but they were very wonky.

Zoid1 Much to my surprise, I was able to duplicate most of what you sent me. I got the steer point button to work and will try the others later. To bad so many other commands are not yet implemented. I assume that you fly with the MFDs only in the game cockpit so that the HSI shows up on the second monitor. I still have the MFDs on the second monitor, although without the mod, they are very hard to read. Any thoughts on getting CZ's map to work here? Zoid1 This is going to take me awhile to understand and work on. I began with the BMS/Falcon version of a Helios cockpit and just conformed the 6 viewports of DCS to the right locations. My next attempt was to complete the ICP and with your help, we shall see. I tried to copy over the map button from the F18 profile to the F16 but no joy. Have you tried that? If I ever get the above done, I will try the autopilot switches and then just wait for CZ's profile. I will get back to you after I have worked on your zip file. thanks again.

Zoid1 Thanks for the help. I don't think I ever would have figured out those combinations. I am now moving on to the 2-way increment/decrement switch, the 4-way RTN/SEQ switch and the 3-way DRIFT switch. If you have the time, could you please tell me what switches you used for those items and how you coded them as I could not do either. Thanks again.

I am in the process of doing a UFC in Helios for the F16 using keystrokes for commands. I know for instance that {LCONTROL}{NUMPAD4} works for the number 4 on the UFC keypad in the jet. However, I cannot seem to find the right key combinations for {LCONTROL}{NUMPAD.} and {LCONTROL}{NUMPADENTER}. Both of the foregoing do not work. Are these commands allowed in Helios, and if so, what are they?

Greyman In your post #100, did you leave out a number near the end? In the F16, the RPM listing in the info bar, the RPM gauge in the jet and the fuel flow meter gauge in the jet do not seem to be synchronized. I am trying to get the throttle set up to be just before the afterburner kicks in, but the above 3 items do not seem to synchronize very quickly or accurately.

I am also having trouble getting the F16 kneeboard to appear. The drop down list of aircraft in the builder uses the name F-16C, yet in places, the name of the aircraft is F-16C-50. Maybe this is causes my confusion.
