Nice thanks! Quite in link with what was mentioned above! So I think we're converging to a solution! I'll give it a shot. Yes it's time consuming, but it's not that bad. Anyway I'll try for the first mission and see how it goes. If it works I'll do it for the other missions. I'll give an update in the next few days with what I was able to find. Thanks for the help everyone.

Interesting point, I didn't think of that... I'll have a look at the action list and see if some setting can be changed to communicate with everyone. In the trigger list, the action is just "Set AI Push Task" (the wording might be wrong, I'm not a ME expert), and it calls a specific action from the available list. The list is defined on the specific AI aircraft I think. So I'll have a look at that list, and see what type of action is happening. See if the comm is set to "Everyone" or whatever. Would be weird cause I leave my laptop (the host) as a spectator... But it's definitely worth checking. Thanks for that suggestion.

Well, it is something I would definitely do if I didn't own the Mirage. If I would have known that there was a lot more to DCS when not going through Steam, I would have gotten it directly from Eagle Dynamics in the first place. But ya, too late now, as I have purchased the F5, A10-C, Mig21bis and Mirage.... I guess I could "re-purchase" the Mirage but man... that would suck big time. Just on principle I'm not willing to do it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think it might do the trick but! One issue I see is the following, and maybe you have yet another good solution for me... : I purchased my planes on Steam (and I run the Steam DCS World 1.5.6). So, in order to be able to host on a separate laptop (for sake of performance if you asked. When I host on the same machine I play with, we all get horrible fps). So, in order to be able to run DCS on my laptop to host, I created a new account, but with the Standalone version, as I couldn't do it via Steam obviously. I didn't think DCS would let me run 2 instances of the game simultaneously. Therefore, I doubt that I can activate my planes on a different account? It would have to be the same account? Could I really run the standalone version at the same time as the Steam version, so that I can have my laptop to host? Moreover, I was told the Mirage can't be activated on the Standalone if it was purchased on Steam. I'll keep trying different things, but the issue is definitely related to the laptop host not having the Mirage installed. When I run the modified mission solo on my desktop, as I said, it is fine. When I run it via the laptop, the comms don't trigger (for instance the Chevy 1-1 radio check at the beginning of mission 1 never triggers).

Well I asked that myself before doing it, but then my thinking is that I'm not distributing it. I don't intend to share this, and especially not sell it as a package. So, I'm quite confident it is. And, we both purchased the Mirage, it's just that we'd like to try to do the campaign together.

Hi, I'm trying to convert the campaign missions of the Mirage so that I can play COOP with a friend. The thing is, when playing multiplayer, we host our game with my laptop, which only has the basic standalone version of DCS. It doesn't have any packages installed (obviously I wouldn't by them twice). Now, what I did is that I switched the "Player" in the mission editor for "Client" and I added another plane in my group for each mission. I tested it on my desktop (onto which I have all the packages installed) and it seems to work. Note that I was doing this solo. However, on the laptop, it doesn't. And! I think it is because it doesn't have the sound files for the different comms. I've looked all over my folders to find the .ogg files, but I can't. In the mission editor, it doesn't really say what is the path for the files. So I don't know where they are. I've tried simply copying the full M2000C folder from my desktop to my laptop, but it doesn't work. And anyway, looking folder to folder into the M2000C main folder, I couldn't find the .ogg files.... So my assumption is that they should be "within" the mission file, but then why is it not playing... Anyway, if anyone has done it, or has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

Hi, Really simple question when it comes to triming the F5.... Is there anyway to reduce how sensitive the triming is on this plane? I'm asking because, compared to other planes (the Mirage comes to mind...), and also considering my past experience on other sims (XP11 mostly), I find the F5 to be impossible to trim. I can understand that each plane behaves differently. But I just can't level the F5. I've never been able to do it. It's just too sensitive. Whenever I am trying to stabilize at a certain airspeed, for roll trim (if I have only one missile left for example) and pitch, I just can't get it leveled. There is always some movement. Not only am I always slightly rolling on one side, but I'm also oscillating around a certain altitude. I thought maybe it was my joystick, but I recently got a new one, and it didn't do much. And anyway, the trim is set to my joystick hat, so it's not an "axis" type of input. So ya, maybe I just suck at triming (but then I'm able to trim the Mirage for example), but if there is something to adjust sensitivity, I'd really like to know.

Damn... Thanks for the answer. This means I won't be able to get Nevada until it's out on Steam :(

Am I correct in saying that I can use the Steam keys in the standalone version (but not the opposite situation). I got all my DCS stuff from Steam (DCS World + separate packages (F5, Mirage, A-10, Mig21). Nevada not being available on Steam, if I'd want to get the campaigns, I'd need the Standalone. Hence my question... Thanks

Probably been asked, however could not find a post on this via Google search... So, pardon me if I am re-starting an old topic. I must say that I find it sad, or should I say "disapointing", that the F5 is as expensive as the other packages, yet has no Campaign coming with it. I'm starting the Mirage campaign at the moment, and it seems well built (with a lot of Voice acting and what not). I wish we'd have that with the F5, especially since it's the same price. Anyway... Guess I just wanted to come and whine about it!... :S Any chance it might coming as an update? Or will it be a separate purchase (which would be quite frustrating)?

Oh ok! Thank you very much, I wasn't aware at all of that "January bug". But it's good to know I'm not crazy. Thanks everyone for the help. I think I have what I need to be able to move forward with the campaign. Happy flying!

Ok thank you. And any idea why my HSI (and hud) show completely wrong headings? Bad INS alignement at the beginning maybe?
-
It is on yes. It has to absolutely be off? I thought it was just a question of preference... But I guess this is bugging the radio?
-
And sorry I add something else... when doing that TACAN part of the mission. I needed to turn to a heading of 090 in order to actually be heading "south". Why is my HSI oriented so that South is at 090?

Digging a little bit, it seems the programmed channel they want me to select (Channel 3) should be 135.5. However, when looking in front at my 2 selected radio frequencies, changing the knob to channel 3 keeps the frequency at 140 (take off airport frequency). Is there a button I must push to "accept" the select channel?

Thanks for the replied, I figured part of the answer, however I have no idea why what I did was what was required. I had to turn the "UHF Mode Switch" so it points either to FI or H, both seem to work.... What does this mean? The manual isn't explaning anything on the radio... it just says what button is what.. And, in mission 2 (I managed to finish mission 1), they seem to be talking to Prowler but I never hear him. I hear Colt, Pontiac, but not Prowler... :S This radio thing is making me crazy!!!

Hi, For the first time I'm trying to fly the M2000 Campaign. I really think I have a problem with my first mission, and it really looks like its bugged. First of all, when starting the mission, and looking on youtube people doing it, I'm supposed to get my "IP" checking-in with me once I turn on the batteries. Well he does not. Moreover, and that looks weird, there is a HUMVEE parked right in front of his plane?! Is this supposed to be? Any help would be appreciated, because I can't complete the mission. If I decide to takeoff by myself, I only get a score of 50 and need to replay the mission over again.. With the IP stuck again or something... Let me know if there is something I am missing or not doing wrong. Thank you.

Seems there is a second thread on this topic. Sorry about my mistake, didn't realize it until after I posted this. Terribly sorry

Hi everyone, I have a simple question on the F5 radar range. I've been flying the F5 for maybe a month now, as my "main" plane and I just recently noticed one thing. When I pitch the airplane, with relatively high G force, the antenna seems to keep pointing at the same point. What I mean, and what I am actually experiencing within the cockpit, is that if I pull on the stick, for example, the line on my radar indicating the elevation will drop down, instead of following the nose of the aircraft. So if I set it at "0" with the plane leveled, when I pull it's going to go to -30 (for example). I assume this is normal behavior? Or is there a button that switches between "fixed antenna" (that follows my movement) versus "free antenna" (that would keep looking at one point and ignore the plane movement). Tried looking in the manual and didn't find anything. Maybe I was not looking for the right keywords... I don't know. Thanks for any help.

I thank you all for the very clear explanations. I did try to switch to CAP and it works very well. I know that even though, the mission I created fits the "Intercept" definition of a mission, I don't really like how it behaves. Having to tell them precisely who to Intercept (I would have to specify intercepting the A-10s, refering to my example) and ignoring the Escort is... meh. Anyhow, thanks very much, cause with CAP it works now. And it also made me realize that "High" difficulty is too much for me at the moment :P I'll need to practice, cause so far I get easily shot. I'm usually able to dodge their first missile, but not the second one.
-
Thank you I will try this but... Are you implying that Intercept might be somewhat "bugged"? I mean, they should be "Intercepting" don't you think?

Hi all, I'm relatively new to DCS, I've been a regular user for maybe.. 4 months. I did learn a lot reading through this forum and steam forum, yet this is still my first post here. I've been trying my hands on creating my own missions. I'm limiting myself, for now, to basic things, and all in all it works quite well. However, there are minor things that bug me. The most important one, is enemy AI being very passive... I have a mission where on the blue side, we have 1 group of 2 A10s attacking some vehicules, with a group escort of 2 F5s. I have created two trigger zones, each one activating a group of 2 Migs (Red team). The first being 2 Mig23s, the second being 2 Mig21s. I assigned them an "Intercept" type of mission, with their waypoints going towards the blue team route. Now, the vehicles were not doing much, until I read here that SAMs must be in the same group as the radar, which wasn't the case. So that's one thing solved. But, the Migs are very passive, not engaging us at all. Whenever I see them pop on my RWR, I turn to go "meet" them. They don't even shoot at us. They just continue their way, letting us easily come behing them. And at that point, they don't even try to evade us. They just stay leveled, letting us easily shoot them down... Is there anything I am doing wrong? They do have missiles equipped. I have also tried raising their "difficulty" to the maximum. Still nothing. I read here that with "Intercept" type mission, I don't have, and can't anyway... give them En Route Task. They will just intercept whoever they cross. One last funny detail: at first the Migs were Mig29s. But they completely destroyed me. Realizing a F5 wasn't a great match for a Mig29, I decided to switch for older Migs. And now... they basically ignore us! Thanks for any help.
