Hi, So I purchased the Enemy Within campaign since I really liked the M2000C stock campaign you did. Problem is, I can't activate it. In my profile on the website it shows the transaction as being "Completed", but in DCS it isn't in my available DLCs. It is still in the list of DLC I can buy. But when I click on it, it opens my browser saying I already own it... :S!!! I have the latest 1.5 version (1.5.7.something) and run it in the standalone app (not via Steam). One good thing to note is that there was a glitch with PayPal when I was paying. It crashed or something. I doubt this is the issue though, since in the end I did get the payment confirmation email, both from PayPal and ED. So they clearly received my payment (and as I said, my online profile also confirms that info). I'm on standby from their customer support, but was hoping perhaps somebody from the community had similar issues? With another campaign maybe? All my other modules were available right away, so I don't know what is going on.... :(

Thanks for trying to help. So now it seems after some time the order got processed anyway. I received emaisl from both ED and PayPal to confirm the order is complete. My profile also shows the same. Only issue now is that in the module manager from DCS, it's not there. Even after refreshing, or restarting the sim. I guess I'll wait and see if it appears later...

Hi, I have purchased a campaign on the E-Shop but I have a problem. I used 3 of bonus dollars to pay, and wanted to pay the rest with PayPal. As I was finishing the transaction, PayPal crashed. Going back to my account, it seems I have only paid 3$ and that the PayPal transaction did not complete, which is fine. But I can't figure how to proceed to pay the difference? The item isn't in my cart, and I can't figure out where to go to complete my payment. Thanks for any help.

My question was stupid, as it is written in his signature... :S!!!! Sorry!

I was refering to the stock A10C Campaign. I haven't tried Enemy Within. Is this your work? As for the other ones you mention, I'll keep my eyes opened for the F-15C and the next M-2000C Red Flag campaign! Cheers! :)

Hey I thought I give my feedback on the Campaign as well. I really wanted to post it here, because I really, really loved your Campaign. The fact that you spent the time to make use feel like a real pilot in a real "war" with real wingmen, etc, with all the radio chat, etc etc... is what I think makes your campaign stand out. It really has a big "Role Playing" element to it. You created a scenario that evolves as the missions pass, plus the voice acting that I already mentioned. All of it really immerses you. As a comparison, I started the A10C campaign and it really isn't that well done. I'm not saying it is bad, just that your Mirage campaign really stand out. If you have other campaigns coming out and if you keep the same kind of quality in your work, I'm most definitely buying them.

Had the same speed problem in that mission. Everybody flying at 165 knots, making it impossible to finish the mission. At first I tried closing the mission and trying again, without closing DCS. It didn't work. I then closed DCS, rebooted my computer and when I re-tried the mission, I did not speed up time during INS alignment. Not sure which of these 3 elements (closing DCS, reboot or no time acceleration) worked, but there was no issue in the mission after that. And, the AI made it easy for me, as 2 of the L-39s crashed in the mountains by themselves during our encounter! XD
-
And! It was not very reliable and named the "Widowmaker" for killing its own pilots ! XD But indeed, it would really be a great addition to the other modules! :)

I would add to the list, and this is purely just planes that I like... I mean they might not make sense in terms of availability of documentation, might not fit within the DCS environment, etc... whatever. I felt like mentioning them anyway: - B-1 Lancer bombing plane. - F-16, thought it has already been mentioned. - F-104 StarFighter - Mig-23 (also has already been mentioned). - Mig-25 Other planes I find really cool are already in dev, so I'm not listing them (thinking of F-18 and F-14). On a side note, I do love many of the FC3 planes (Mig-29 and Su-27 for instance) and would really love having modules of those that are more "complete" than the FC3 ones. I know it's probably not going to happen, but still, it would be nice.
-
I would add that indeed the F5 single missions included with the module are very well built, but! if I recall correctly, there aren't many. Like 5 or 6 max? So ya... nice missions and well edited, but... ya, another disapointment.

Yes this is also part of my conclusion after doing some additional digging. But, if it's been "wrong" for so long, has ED improved the physics in 2.0? Or is it at least planned?

I know this might not be a Mirage only topic, but since I'm mostly using the M2000C these days, and that the people here are quite helpful, I decided to post my question here. I hope you don't mind. Also I found only 1 post talking about this topic, but it was related to a very specific issue and dated from 2012... So my question is: Is it normal that the "splash" damage is so low in DCS? I've noticed it yesterday doing Mission 6 from the M2000C Campaign, but I tested with the F5 and it's the same thing. Whenever I use bombs and rockets, I need a direct hit to kill my targets. Again refering to Mission 6 of the campaign: In this mission, there is a group of multiple vehciles next to each other. My bombs were falling right in the middle of that packed group, but not hitting directly one of the trucks. I was not getting any kills. Sometimes bombs were falling probably 2 to 3 meters from the vehicule and nothing. I'm not an expert at all, so I don't know what would be the "danger zone" of the Mk82s (the bombs from Mission 6), but damn 2 to 3 meters from a vehicle... I would think that a real bomb would destroy the thing. We're not talking about a hand grenade here... it's 500 pouds of explosive! So I was basically wondering is it possible that DCS is not a very good representation of reality when it comes to bomb and rocket damage? If indeed it is not very well simulated within DCS, is it better in version 2? Is ED working on something? And in case it is actually quite well modeled, I must admit I am surprised. I was expecting such bombs to destroy a lot of things in a relatively big radius.

Just to let you know that I too, had the same exact problem with the mission and that your modified file fixed it for me as well (like the January bug for instance). And by the way, you seem to be updating and fixing those minor issues in the campaign. Is there an official way to update the campaign? Or will there be one? Was wondering how this works out. Thanks for letting me know.
-
Yes you are quite right, they are not that expensive, especially on sale it's very affordable. Nice picture. We all have to admit, this is just a very nice looking jet, period! :)

Ya I know. When I bought the F5, I knew I was over-paying, since it was the same price than the other modules, but without a campaign... But I'm a big fan of the F5, so I bought it willingly. And if you ask why, it's purely because TopGun is my favorite movie XD (and yes, it is true). So ya, you can count on me buying the F14 when it's available on Steam! XD

Hey I thought of something today... what if the problem is not with only the host receiving the radio transmission, but with the first trigger of the mission (I'm still talking about mission 1). For the radio transmission to take place, the first couple of triggers check that your batteries and radio are activated. However, nowhere in that trigger is it indicated "which plane radio must be turned on"... so I'm starting to wonder if the mission is just waiting for the host to activate its radio and batteries. I'll try tonight to completely delete that trigger and just add something like a timer after mission start. You know, just replace it with something more general that isn't related to a specific airplane. Could be it's just that and actually not a glitch in the radio transmission.
-
Ok so I think I narrowed the problem to one single cause. Or at least I think. I think I confirmed that the issue is that only the hosts is getting the radio transmissions and triggers. Take example, mission 1 of the campaign. If any of you have ever opened it, you probably noticed that: The triggers don't cause a "SOUND TO ALL" or something in that range. It calls for a specific action from the different plane action list. For example, it going to call a "AI TASK PUSH", selecting one action from the list. Now, for example, the first AI TASK PUSH is taken from the list of actions on the AI Mirage plane. In this plane's action list, you have "Perform Task - Radio Transmission - FileBlablabla.org - etc..." So what I tested: - Having no one defined as "Player" doesn't matter. There can only be clients, it's fine. - Loading the mission through "mission" from the main menu works. - Doesn't matter if both client planes are within the same group, it still works. - When loading the mission from "Multiplayer - New Server", it also works. - When loading the mission from "Multiplayer - New Server", using a separate hosting computer, then it doesn't work.... So I guess I would have to redo ALL the triggers so that it doesn't call actions from the planes action list, but that it would use a SOUND ALL, or something. Tedious work.. I don't know if I'm gonna attempt to do it... :S Man it sucks so bad. If that bug wouldn't exist, it would be quite simple to modify the campaign to make it coop playable... :(

Good idea, I could try to do this and share, so that you guys can give some advice as to what is wrong with my way of trimming the aircraft. I'll look into perhaps the NVidia app to record or whatever and post on youtube. Might not be today, but in the next few days I'll try and share.
-
Yes absolutely. This is what we actually did the other day when we realised I was not going to be able to easily mod the M2000 Campaign and that it would require more work.
-
You might be pointing at what I do wrong. I think I'm not doing the right "sequence" if I can say. Suppose I am climbing to 15 000 ft. And that at 15 000 ft I want to fly at 270 knots. I tend to bring my nose down manually, adjust throttle to be close to stable at 270. Try to adjust the trim to have the pitch stable. And that is where problems appear. Each touch of the trim button makes me go from either +300 ft/min to -300 ft/min, etc. I guess I should trim the pitch to being close to stable (say +300 ft/min) and play with the THROTTLE to make the nose go down. Is that what you were explaining? At the moment I don't use the throttle to correct pitch and make plane stable. This is probably my mistake.

Thanks for the detailed answer Ramsay. True that using "Client" instead of "Player" was something that I thought could be the issue. But, when testing the revised mission file which has "2 clients" and no "player", as I was saying, it worked. Therefore, it demonstrated that it was probably not "player" versus "client" that was the issue, but the fact that I was the actual host. Or at least, that is what I think. I could try leaving one plane as "Player" and the other one as "Client". Is this something that is allowed by the Mission Editor? I think I read somewhere that as long as there is one plane defined as "Player", the mission won't be multiplayer playable. So, I need to figure out either how to push the triggers to non-host, or... or I don't know what! The reason for that is I can't use my desktop as the Host AND play on it also. We have very low fps when we do that. We found that using a third computer as a host, which stays as a spectator, works best for us. And I'm no IT guy, so doing anything more complicated than that (creating a virtual server and assigning ressources or what not) is too much for me! Anyway, thanks for your suggestions. If my other tests don't work, I'll look into what you proposed.
-
Nice thanks! Quite in link with what was mentioned above! So I think we're converging to a solution! I'll give it a shot. Yes it's time consuming, but it's not that bad. Anyway I'll try for the first mission and see how it goes. If it works I'll do it for the other missions. I'll give an update in the next few days with what I was able to find. Thanks for the help everyone.

Interesting point, I didn't think of that... I'll have a look at the action list and see if some setting can be changed to communicate with everyone. In the trigger list, the action is just "Set AI Push Task" (the wording might be wrong, I'm not a ME expert), and it calls a specific action from the available list. The list is defined on the specific AI aircraft I think. So I'll have a look at that list, and see what type of action is happening. See if the comm is set to "Everyone" or whatever. Would be weird cause I leave my laptop (the host) as a spectator... But it's definitely worth checking. Thanks for that suggestion.

Well, it is something I would definitely do if I didn't own the Mirage. If I would have known that there was a lot more to DCS when not going through Steam, I would have gotten it directly from Eagle Dynamics in the first place. But ya, too late now, as I have purchased the F5, A10-C, Mig21bis and Mirage.... I guess I could "re-purchase" the Mirage but man... that would suck big time. Just on principle I'm not willing to do it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think it might do the trick but! One issue I see is the following, and maybe you have yet another good solution for me... : I purchased my planes on Steam (and I run the Steam DCS World 1.5.6). So, in order to be able to host on a separate laptop (for sake of performance if you asked. When I host on the same machine I play with, we all get horrible fps). So, in order to be able to run DCS on my laptop to host, I created a new account, but with the Standalone version, as I couldn't do it via Steam obviously. I didn't think DCS would let me run 2 instances of the game simultaneously. Therefore, I doubt that I can activate my planes on a different account? It would have to be the same account? Could I really run the standalone version at the same time as the Steam version, so that I can have my laptop to host? Moreover, I was told the Mirage can't be activated on the Standalone if it was purchased on Steam. I'll keep trying different things, but the issue is definitely related to the laptop host not having the Mirage installed. When I run the modified mission solo on my desktop, as I said, it is fine. When I run it via the laptop, the comms don't trigger (for instance the Chevy 1-1 radio check at the beginning of mission 1 never triggers).
