I would be more than happy to do Take-off and Landing runs with you or anyone who wants to learn.. I mainly fly a10c, but really doesn't matter for the basics... more than happy to teach. Just PM me and let me know. I am laid back and understand what it's like to pop tires, so it won't bother me a bit to do as many touch and go's as we need. I would enjoy it actually. Just let me know.

Yea man, PM me or something so we can put together a plan! -
ummm.. as I mentioned on page 2 of this thread lol Have you noticed the weaponry on the wings? (more on right wing) Doesn't this make the plane want to roll right? It does for me in this mission and I simply fix with trim! Of course making your own mission will fix this bc you probably loaded NO weapons or a more even spread load-out on your wings.. Am I missing something or ? Seems to be the answer
-
Just tested the mission and it works fine... Why haven't you explained what is happening? ----------------------------------------------------------- Possible issues (guessing bc you haven't explained the problem) *Are you raising your flaps before 200knts? They are down by default on this mission/all "runway start" missions *Have you noticed the armament on the right wing is heavier than the left causing a rotation to the right? TRIM LEFT to fix *Double check your control inputs and make sure nothing is conflicting. mission is fine.. Make your own mission and the game won't have "auto" anything enabled. lol

VR vive IDEA - No joystick etc required

Indeed. Hope so. and by all means, I will still use my joy stick for many flights but would be neat to reach out and only use the in game model. -

Really not much info in your concern... not really fair to a debate. -

Well.. in other games when the controller (hands) attach to the virtual model. Fine motor movements work well so I can't see that being an issue. However.. if u forget and move the controller that is attached without "letting go" of the in-game joy..then yea, it would be bad lol -
Has ED considered the following idea? In VR gun games; you can reach over to a gun, click a button and the VR "hands" will grab the gun so you can move/operate the model. In other VR games, you can flip switches with the finger tip (like a mouse) and rotate knobs with the track pad. In DCS, let's say on the a10c; the right hand could "attach" to the in-game joy.. and the left hand could "attach" to the throttle. You could also detach and touch all switches in the cockpit. This is basically proven in other games. These feature would be amazing bc you could literally only use the VR equipment and maybe a couple keyboad commands for atc and such. Just a thought and a major wish.

Ok, I understand about the home builds being a pain in VR. Not too worried about the pilot model. I just like the idea of having only the VR controllers and the headset on... with no need for anything else (besides maybe a couple keyboard commands for atc or something) I just wonder if the devs have thought about the hands looking to the joystick and throttle like they are capable of in other VR games. Thx for the link and info

1st: Is there a VR discussion on this forum anywhere? 2nd: Is there a spot that the devs would read about VR ideas or have posted? 3rd: Everything I am about to talk about is understanding that VR has a long way to go before its viable for AIR/AIR play.. so, let's leave that out. . VR(vive) is incredibly immersive and I have tweaked my settings to perform very well. I am mainly talking a10c flight w/ ground combat. . The best way to play VR in DCS is flying formation as it's as immersive as you can possibly get. The scale and 360 view is just simply amazing for close form!! DO IT . I have managed a way to perform air/ground combat pretty well too so I am very happy! . I notice they have "HANDS" in-game if you turn on the vive controllers but I am unable to use them, they are flipped and don't seem to work in anyway. This excites me though as to a few possibilities. . Gun games on VR have the HANDS.. and you can "attach" them to the gun with a simple press of a button. What about attaching to the joystick in-game? Would be amazing! What about attaching to the throttle? Amazing! . I notice a few folks say operating switches would be impossible.. this is very untrue. The tip of the finger can have a cross-hair and simpley work like the mouse. The sensor pad can rotate knobs. Games ALREADY have everything I mention(obviously not planes) but still! . Would be super neat as it would allow a VR user to fully use the in-game cock-pit ! . Thoughts?

Not that anyone is interested in doing this with a stranger but with a friend is great! "Team Viewer" or any remote PC access program. My buddy wanted me to walk him through the start-up procedure and I did so by watching him through team viewer. Was very easy to help him! Just an idea for you guys! -

Hey Max. What time zone are you in so we can possibly plan something. Let's say it's 5pm central (17:00) here, what time would that be for you? -
New Pilots: I would love to offer private sessions for the A10C. . START-UP/SHUT-DOWN ATC + BASIC NAVIGATION TAKE-OFF & LANDING BASIC GROUND COMBAT (guns/air-groundMAV/rockets/bombs) . I am no expert but teaching this would be a major immersion plus for me in DCS. I am also laid back and very understanding of what it's like to be new to flight sims in-general. SO NO WORRIES!! . I am EAST COAST (CENTRAL-TIME) U.S.

Flight Qualifications Campaign
SharkBaztard replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
AMAZING, THANK YOU!! I have been enjoying flight simulators since the floppy disk era. DCS A10C has been incredible and I have absolutely loved attempting to understand and operate the bird. With that said.. Its crazy to start on floppy disk and to now have the HTC Vive VR headset. I am absolutely blown away by the immersion. I can't thank you enough for this campaign and badge I received after completion! I really feel like the campaign brought all my studying to a head and I felt the stress of passing a qualifying coarse! VR Vive + A10C + Formation Flying/quals has been the most amazing climax of years of PC flight.. just awesome! Please anyone, if you have VR..try formation flying.. you simply can't beat the ability to gauge your distance and track your flight lead!! *Now I feel qualified to help beginners learn the a10c the right way. I would love to be an in-game flight instructor on basics of the a10c and flight. PM me! haha HUGE THANK YOU TO THE CREATORS OF THIS CAMPAIGN, I HOPE YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE IT AND MY CERT BADGE!!!!
