  1. The a10c has a nice lady voice.. she yells at me when I get too close to the ground sometimes...but, I love her. Plenty of female pilots and controllers irl.. so I'm a +1
  2. I am more than happy to provide personal lessons. I'm very understanding and happy to help. PM me & Join my private server I personally recommend the a10c full sim module. 1)It's a very easy to fly plane and slower; take-off and landing requires less runway which helps when u are learning. 2)It's a full sim (study) plane but you can use cheats at first and it will act just like a FREE SIMPLE plane. As you learn more, remove the cheats. 3)You can do many types of ground attacks when you get to that stage and some minor air/air practice 4)Back to point #2, as you learn to fly, learn the real switches! (not required for as long as you wish) Would love to help teach simple flight/navigation on any plane of course.. although I will stick with my recommendation/opinion (we all have them) PM me here if you want or find me on steam (BadStar) *If you do decide to take me up on my offer, im more than happy to help you set-up your controls. *I believe I can teach you more(faster)as your wingman, than you can just reading. Reading is great and required but not as fun!! Note: If you are interested in a Joystick (which is almost not optional in flight sims) but you don't have the money to afford. I highly highly recommend this stick. It is CHEAP and VERY GOOD for the price!! Then upgrade in the future. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16879337003&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-PC+Gaming+Accessories+%28Joystick+-+Game+Pad+-+etc.%29-_-N82E16879337003&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItdn5pNnc1QIV27XACh1WDwK0EAYYByABEgKU5_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  3. When you disable clickable mouse cockpit you should be able to look around (which is another way to adjust view) and aim your view to your preference. The above is 1 of many ways to adjust the pilots view point. Also, just go into the controls and set-up the "cockpit view" controls to your liking. You can easily move left/right/back/forward/down/up all with a simple key press. This is of course especially useful for VR pilots as well
  4. It has more issues than what you mention also.. (mainly VR ZOOM) once you bind it to a key or joy button.. it will stick and you wont be able to re-bind to anything else. It treated my joystick like as if that button no longer exists. I had to go into the file and edit the code to get it to work again.. point being. if you get it to work, don't change it!!! (until its fixed) It should be noted that nothing is bound by default on VR Center in the controller config menu's, but num5 is default. so obviously something is wrong. More glitches: it is possible to bind multiple VR Zooms but you wont be able to disable them unless u go into the file/code. It happened to me (for ex: I wasn't able to remove the binding so I tried to bind it to another joy button, usually automatically removing the 1st. but instead I got stuck with multiple, lol)
  5. While we wait for someone who has the right answer. I believe its module specific.. some you can, some you cant. I got out of the ww2 plane and walked around.. so that is a guess on my part
  6. Yea I have been refreshing ready to buy haha..oh well
  7. my i7 w/ the 1070sc powers this game in VR just fine.. obviously not a weak set-up.. just saying I have had a great experience with my build. $1800 or so was from newegg btw.. but just pieced together a bunch of nice stuff. water cooled and all under 2k
  8. 2-3 passes to kill; almost everything but ships should be toast on one good run.. I would say the munition is not suitable for the job (that is if you are hitting the target). On the training field (the big X, near Batumi), put a SAM in the center and a tank on all 4 corners/ends of the X. Then put something easy like fuel trucks through out the X. This is a simple way to learn to prioritize and test weapons. For example, when I turn toward the X from lets say 15miles out, I can zoom in and find the sam, which is priority 1. As I close in on 5 miles, slave my AGM's and boom. Then I either use the rest of my agm's or practice GBU/etc to rid the tanks, all while watching my altitude or be prepared to be shot. After all the threats are gone, I practice guns and rocket runs on all the fuel trucks. It's like the 4th of July. Anyway, this type of practice mission can teach you a lot about the weapons and of course priority kills in order. As an example.. I was testing bomb types but of course did not write down which bomb this was..ehh But, I dropped it over the X and was wondering why it didn't hit the ground yet, then I noticed it had turned into a cluster of smaller bombs and scattered/covered a huge portion of the X (so obviously mark this one down for infantry kills and such) Maybe someone while let us know what the h#11 I am talking about. ha
  9. I'm proud to say my first fighter sim was off a floppy disk as well!! Funny, now we extract the files through a cable or air.. and enjoy in VR!!
  10. The tanker was missing for me last night.. I noticed two planes, thinking 1 was a tanker and the other was running security.. but when I got closer, it was 2 f-16's no tanker. Ill try again at some point and maybe re-install the campaign if still not visible.
  11. I was talking about the Night Mode in the actual Steam VR Vive settings tab.. not the orange hud (green is best in VR) **But this is only good for day time flying. it turns the backlight of the VR to low. btw, VR ZOOM found in the UI settings of DCS is the biggest single improvement to the game. I can zoom into the floating hud and read my way-point/lettering crystal clear!!
  12. Strange, I don't get nauseous when flying dcs (maybe a little at first).. Is that a frame rate thing? I see you guys have PD pretty high, maybe thats causing it?
  13. I will test later... Hey, btw.. I didn't realize VR has zoom feature in DCS, I have been missing out!! go to controls, open the aircraft menu on the top left and scroll down to UI Layer, and you'll find the VR UI Zoom option in there.
  14. Mine is a .tga file... how are you guys editing this file? Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. and on the gamma 1.5 thing, how would this help? isnt that making your screen brighter??
  15. Mostly 1.0 but sometimes 1.2 just to test the diff.. I do have my "digital vibrance" up to 70% in the nvidia control panel.. I read that may help.. I can tell colors are better but not sure on dial clarity. Also read to turn off most of the nvidia controlled stuff in DCS VR and let the game take over. (so many opinions on the internet lol) btw, just noticed that the latest dcs update only allows msaa 8x & aa 16x
  16. You can manually move the pilot position around the cockpit using in-game keybinding. I re-assigned mine so I don't remember default but I belive someone posted the answer on page 1. I spawn plane Hit VR reset then manually move myself around with my keyboard left/right/up/down etc until right. Now I know exactly where to move each time and takes little to no time/effort
  17. msa & aa I max these out (16x?).. for me it has major improvements.
  18. Have you tried using "Night Mode" in VR? it works really good for daytime flight in DCS. I would not fly night missions in night mode though.. _________________________________________________ I highly recommend turning on tool tips, this way when u highlight a dial you can read the big white lettering.. I also turn on both antialasing options up to 16x. works well for me. (sorry forgot the names.. Never turn on v-sync in VR!! ---------------------------- If your PC is not super powerful maybe supersample dcs to 1.2 from 1.0 (any higher and you may regret it with stutters. Oh and don't waste frames on your cockpit dsplays.. I have my to stupid low 256..see them just fine. (MAKE SURE IN GAME TEXTURES ARE ON HIGH(not talking about ground textures)) Just a few things.
  19. I only play standalone dcs and don't plan to go the steam route.. but I can only agree that steam is where you want to get your "name" out to the gaming population (if sales are a part of your developer goals). Steam update system is great/easy/fast.. If you are on steam for years and have friends, it makes for easier co-op gaming. For ex: I can see who is online and who is specifically playing DCS. Steam also has an easy comms option for 2 players. One can simply "call" their friend via headset and voice chat through any game without adding another 3rd party software(also, in-gamer overlay). and so on.. but yea, standalone ftw!
  20. It won't let me respond to a PM.. after I submit my reply, nothing happens and returns me to the original message in quotes... ehh
  21. ummm.. VR zoom?? Please share which default key that is so I can map it?!
  22. R1lawsy.. I am having some goofy issues when trying to reply to your PM.. Let me know if you haven't received a reply from me. (BadStar on steam, btw.)
  23. Really? That's odd bc I have used model enlargement with-in the last month and it did create bigger models.
