Also my monitor resolution is 1360x768 so I put the resolution in the settings menu to that.
-
Okay I just set the "Power Management Mode" to "Prefer Maximum Performance" in Nvidia control panel. I have the "Adjust Image Settings" set to "Let the 3D Application Decide", is that good? Also there's no way to change the size of the VR monitor mirror unless I ALT+Enter
-
Also to give you even more information, here's my performance tab of task manager after ejecting from the F/A-18C in a heavy populated server, around 30 people. This is the server that I get many stutters during engine start/taxi to runway because of the high volume of aircrafts and objects.
-
Okay I'll try it, I did try it a couple days ago but didn't notice much difference, but hey if it helps even the slightest it's worth it.
-
Well I just re-downloaded DCS on a SSD so would that be needed on a fresh install?
-
Do you mean take a snapshot of the graphic settings in game?
-
Okay that was probably my mistake as well. Truthfully VR with all low settings isn't that bad with PD set to 1.5. Still plenty immerseful for me. I can live with it as long as it's smooth sailing and not choppy, the immersion of feeling there definitely beats having prettier visuals, of course if it comes down to one or the other that is. I still would love to have better visuals, I don't know what's with my computer..

I literally have every single setting down to either low or off if there's an option for it to be on off it'll be off, the only thing that's not at off or low is trees which I set to 50% to avoid the trees randomly growing as I fly over them. If I'm not mistaken didn't you say your GPU percentage was at 99 or 100% on the main menu?
-
So it's normal for the GPU percentage to be around 99-100% on main menu, phew just making sure there wasn't something wrong with that. As for the other results, I haven't measured them yet, can I get all the other information in the task manager?
-
Okay thank you, let me know how goes
-
Okay what about GPU usage in the main menu screen? Like I said I get 99% usage which I find a bit odd.
-
Also I've tried with medium/high settings with MSAA at off and PD at 1.0 and still had stutters. Only clears up once everything is on low and off
-
Just checked that link, I could've swore my GPU said 99% when in task manager last time I started it up and I was only in the main menu of DCS, is that normal? What is the optimal percentages?
-
Maybe having a Ti and higher GHZ CPU helps you, I just gave up trying I will always get stutter here and there unless I put everything to low/off even clutter/grass, preload radius etc, except trees, I have them at 50%

GTX 1080 i7 7700k 4.2GHZ 32 GB RAM I gave up trying to tweak the settings so went straight down to low/off. Since I'm using the Oculus Rift all I really need is PD at 1.5 and things are quite nice. However last night playing on one of the top servers with about 15 - 20 players in I did get some stutters during startup/takeoff.

Hey guys, I've been having issues with performance in VR lately and am looking for the best map for performance, simple question I hope you guys can help, thank you.

Okay thanks guys for the tips

So in the simulator, the range information is just a reference to the runway. Then you call in and request landing once you have visible/on final?
-
Hey guys, I have a question. When I contact ATC for a inbound request, or frankly any request that gives me a range. How do I know when I reach the range instructed by ATC? For example when I request Inbound it tells me a azimuth and a range, following the azimuth is fine, but I don't know how far to go. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
-
Just found a fix. Say the airbase name first then call Inbound, example: Set frequency, "Batumi, Inbound" or "Kobuletti, request engine start". Works everytime.

Sorting out comms with Vaicom Pro and voice attack

Just found out how to avoid the wrong airbase after setting frequency, name the airbase name and then call inbound, works everytime. Example: Set frequency then say "Batumi, Inbound" etc etc. Works like a charm -
Sorting out comms with Vaicom Pro and voice attack

I have the same problem as question #1. Only difference is once I set the airbase frequency I'm currently at, I can't change to any other frequency, I put it in on the UFC in the F/A-18C and try to request inbound but it keeps saying I'm asking for the original frequency I put in at the base I started from. Any help on this?? -
Hey guys I'm having an issue with Vaicom Pro and communicating with ATC, I have Vaicom set to SEL/AUTO to use with all radios and after I set my frequency in the Hornet to a desired frequency and request engine start, inbound etc. it defaults back to the old frequency I set before. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
