It's something similar in italy for goods coming directly from outside EU, 22% on value + shipping + 13€ to apply the tax (?!?!?). So oculus shipped to me at 450€ all inclusive it's not bad. Can i ask where you live? Just for curiosity. I'm also thinking to buy the base of the virpil to mount over it my warthog stick and also buy mfg crooswind to upgrade my rudder but need to find from where they ship, so i can calculate the real price. Same here, in my company we switch all hw from HP to Lenovo (sound familiar? rift s is made in partnership with lenovo) and we have greatly reduced the hw RMA... especially on notebooks!

After had read all about this may vr storm i think oculus made the right choice. They not innovate but improve their weak point and make a really solid headset (on paper comparison, should wait the hands on test to get if it's really true) Let me explain: -little improvement of resulution but huge improvement in clarity without need to upgrade graphics adapter. What really miss in CV1? Clearity. Need betrer fov? Useless without better and improved sweet spot. -huge improvement in usability by switching to inside out tracking. Most users don't want to mess with base stations and cable -audio downgrade, by removing good earphones but leave room for premium add on -same great input design -improved comfort with halo band -passtrought camera, everyone secretly want it, i'm sure -retrocompatibility and same price! This make the rift s a rock-solid headset with a very low cost-effort for hmd and pc. They go for VR to mass now, the other watch to the future. What do you think?
