Binding to the taxi/landing light switch
Mouse_99 replied to bfr's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I admit, this is why I like clickable cockpits, I reach over and click the switch or button with my mouse. I save HOTAS issues for the HOTAS, and others that are not as subject ti immediacy to my mouse and cockpit switches. While they offer hundreds of bindings, I do my best to keep them to a minimum. -
Referring to your "crap memory", I generally use Google sheets to list my controls for my HOTAS (I have the Winwing F-16ex stick and Orion 2 Throttle with F-15e grips) I fly about 8 modules and I have your crap memory also. I also printed out the control diagrams to identify the different numbers for the switches and buttons, that way, I can have a print out of the Controls and diagrams in front of my keyboard (I fly 2D) if your VR, I can't help you there. Since I fly many aircraft, I do my best to make most normal controls the same for each and then it's cheat sheet time for the unique controls for the aircraft. Hope that helps a little. ;)

Good job gentlemen! You nailed it, it was my switch I use to lower the launch bar, I must have inadvertently bumped it and put it in the down position. Thank you for the help! I knew it was something basic, because it would show up and immediately go out, so I knew there was something triggering that, but I couldn't figure it out for the life of me!

Yes, I deleted my bindings and re-did them but din;t work. i also removed my mods folder to insure there weren't any shenanigans going on there.

So far, I deleted my bindings and redid them with no success, I then uninstalled the F-18c and then re-installed still with no success. I loaded an instant action - Ready on the ramp. When the mission loads in, for a brief instant I see the NWS it then goes out. I disconnected the joystick and used the keyboard and I get the same action - the NWS indicator is gone and when I press the S key it comes on as long as I hold the key. I have no way to turn on the High Gain. In the video I hold down the s key twice to show you what's happening. This is while the wings are down and locked. As I have mentioned, I have been using these key bindings for years, and in the middle of flying a mission, it suddenly doesn't work anymore. The binds show up in the controls and lighting up when pressed. I unplugged the joystick and used the keyboard with the same results. NWS failure_01.mp4

This is on an airfield and no.

Yeah, I get that, it has been working for years, and now it doesn't, that's why I asked the question of there has been any changes or if it were a new bug with the last update. Normally the NWS appears in the HUD, but now it's not. When I press my normal High Gain button the NWS comes on only while I hold the button. There is no way to get the High gain at all. Since I posted this, I deleted my controls config and re-did the bindings, but I got the same results.

I have had the F-18c since it came out and I've always had NWS showing up in the HUD. Now, I get no nose wheel steering until I hit a button (my normal high Gain button, and I have no High Gain. This happened on single player in a favorite training mission and it stopped working normally, I thought at first the mission file was corrupted but I created a test mission and it did the same. I have the X-56 throttle and a Winwing F-16ex stick and the 2.9 update. I use the 6 button on the stick to normally access the High Gain feature, but now, it simply removes the High Gain off the HUD and I have no High Gain after. Is this a new feature or a bug?

Thank you , the map popped up immediately after I hit the chart type and scale!

Thanks for all the tips. I will go back and try again! There wasn't anything specific about doing anything, the map just showed up (in the tutorials, lol) I did wait for total alignment while I was searching for this and that. I'll check the zoom in and scale.

I wanted to set up a simple mission in Syria to learn how to fly the Apache and when I did and started it up I couldn't figure out how to get the map to appear. I looked at the quick start guide and it didn't reference anything about the map and i noticed there was no map in some of the images. It doesn't seem right if you can't have a map how are you going to put your waypoints ad targets etc.

Not sure where, or if was listed, but the save option needs to be increased by about a factor of 5 along with the delete option. Also, the ability to save templates from one map to another should be a no- brainer. If we have it, I can't find it. I think there might be an auto save function, but unsure how it actually works.

Cancel that, I went out of DCS, came back in and tried another mission and it seems to work, not sure if the mission I used is corrupted or what, but it does work, sorry about that. -
