The 159th server is public - no need to join the unit. The mission is simple and good for learning. Some waypoints, some targets, a farp and several ways to get shot down. The guys from the 159th keep an eye out for TK's and are able to ban offenders. Nice. *Thanks to the 159th for hosting the mission*

Buying the russian version is easy. You only have to read this 50 page thread - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=32909 Cheers!

The autopilot takes some getting used to. I've found that I can only get a stable hover if I cancel any trim. I keep the joystick near-centred and make sure it does not move. With the shkval uncaged (and heading AP engaged), pressing Q will point you where it is looking. BTW I have found no problem engaging hover AP from cruise speed - probably not supposed to do it that way though. If you engage route following from hover mode, the BS will go to the next waypoint (picking the wp up from the abris?). I havent figured out how to control speed in this mode yet. I think I read that the heading AP will usually point you to the selected WP, so turning it off is probably a good idea if you need to deviate from the route. It is good when the helo starts to do what you want.

Hi Franx - If you haven't got sorted yet - the 1C site should show your user name at top right and show Black Shark in your basket and a balance of 300 rubles. From there you click the link just below and use that 300 credit in your 1C account to pay. After that it gives you the key code The download link (get both files) appears on the game description page. Cheers!

Thanks Guys. Donation made.

You can check your security settings in Webmoney - I did and decided the warning could be ignored. You have a copy of Repent's fantastic guide don't you? If not, it's found earlier in the thread - sorry don't have time to find it now. Cheers!

I posted in the Russian forum for suggestions about suitable charities... For anyone interested... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33326 Easy enough to figure out for the 1C download vets! Cheers!

I have posted a request for suggestions on the Russian forum. Hope some can read English! Cheers!

Hi, Some of us on the English Forum have bought Black Shark from the 1C website. We have set up Webmoney accounts and have Rubles left over. We would like to send money to a Russian charity. I would like suggestions where we could send this money. Thanks! Vitesse2l

An orphanage would be good for me. I'll try and find the link. Edit: Perhaps our Russian friends might suggest something?

Spare rubles - I think we all have a few of those! Any suggestions for a worthwhile cause? Cheers!

BS is running well enough for me - so I have not tweaked too much graphically. From what I have done, I feel that there was little effect on FPS on my system. Suggests the CPU is doing a big share of the work.

You can use Paypal to fund a WMZ dollar purse in the US. The Webmoney Keeper takes you to the website. http://exwp.com/index_en.html Webmoney links to it as the servce to use from the USA. I found it from the webmoney keeper => Choose dollar purse, Add Funds, Top Up Method, Other top up methods, Geo Service in the blue box on the right of this web page, scroll down to USA, click on the words United..., click on the link next to instruction, click on Eng, top right corner! Cheers!

First Impression and Performance Copy of a post I made over at SimHQ - How does it run... First, my system is quite low end...some sort of intel P4 3.0 (originally celeron, replaced with second hand cpu - shows 2 graphs in taskmanager), 2 gig ram, 256mb agp 7600gs. I have BS installed on a 500gb sata drive, defragged since installing. XP with sp3. I keep AA and AF set quite low! I use 1024 x 768. Using default settings, overall performance impression is something similar to stock Lomac FC. In the training missions I get 20 - 30 FPS depending on what is in the scene. There is a city near the airbase and flying over it is no problem. There are odd stutters as textures load but nothing to worry about for me. Anyone with better gear than me (everyone?) should get better results. Biggest annoyance is the load time. About 3 minutes. I do not generally have problems with loading time (FSX, IL2, BOB2, SH4). *I will live with this!* In game, the impression of flight is good. By default, head movement is modelled and slightly more pronounced than FSX. Using 'sim' settings, the Ka-50 is sensitive to control inputs and initially felt unbalanced but I quickly got used to it and made a reasonable circuit and landing first time out. The quickstart option is useful and does not feel like a cheat. It takes it's time to go through a realistic startup and keeps your head in the game. I use a microsoft sidewinder FFB stick and that is set up nicely by default. The trim button is useful and works well. Graphically, this is an updated Lomac. It looks much better low down and skimming treetops is a visual treat. Sounds are very nice (I use headphones) and well placed in stereo. I have actually heard my wingman joining formation from within the cockpit. The effect was subtle. I have fired the cannon and that's sounds like... a cannon going off outside your window when you are wearing a helmet and have turbine engines running. I also know what a crash sounds like. The attenuation as you close the side door before takeoff is a good example of the sound quality - it does not seem a simple reduction in volume. The actual sound seems to change too. Overall BS feels like a high quality package. The menus look much better than Lomac but work in a very similar way. I have connected to a multiplayer server as spectator and that worked first time. Feel free to ask anything more specific. Cheers!

Hi Gary - Ukash here (S Devon) require cash payment (system is designed for people who dont have or use banks). Get the voucher before you start!

Hi Viper - The key is given on the 1C website when you complete payment along with (I think) a receipt number. I was careful to copy this info, of course. I usually prefer the DVD in hand too. Repent - Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad others have been successful and there's a bit more knowledge about!

Well done CrashEd and Repent. Watching the downloads come in is a nice feeling. I had no problem with the country setting, and I know I used the UK. You do need both files. Just run the setup and away it goes. You get to set the destination. Hope your dl speed is good. I was down to 50 kb/s for the last hour. I had problems with the character display on the install - lots of '???' (how to fix that? Tried to add Russian lang.). I deselected the dx9 option but ticked the others. When I got to run the launcher and to click 'fly' it goes to the validation routine. I have not a clue here - more ???'s. I know I installed something and entered the key and away it went - after a few attempts. The load is very long on my old machine but FPS is very acceptable. I Pm'ed a GGTharos - He said it's OK to discuss your experiences in this thread. Thanks!! Cheers!

CrashedEd - Did you get the exchange worked out OK? Set the top box to WMR and the next to WME. In the fifth box set the ammount you want to end up with. I used 400 to be safe. Click in the empty boxes and they autocomplete. Check the WMR receiveing purse number matches your WMR purse and proceed. The funds show up in your purse straight away. Not sure about the SMS thing. Where are you seeing this?

CrashEd - I had the exact same problem with the Digital Signature fail. I just kept trying and in the end it worked. I have no idea what I did through. Try it with IE / Firefox open and closed . I note that the Webmoney keeper takes a while to initialise- - try exiting and restarting that. Just had another look - Try using the Exchange option (Rt click on your purse to find it). Good Luck

http://www.ukash.com/ukash/how-ukash-works/how-to-get-ukash Get the voucher from a Paypoint outlet. I spent £12 to make sure. No problem buying.

Well, seems like several would like to know... I had to register with the russian 1C and place BS in the basket. I then had to get funds into my 1C account from Webmoney. 1C integrates with Webmoney and that worked OK. Finding the files to D/L took a little while though. Found them under the BS 'game' link. I did not put any 'wrong' info in at all - the 1C system knew my ID and location all along. It also logged the three failed attempts I made to pay! The system was robust enough to stand my ham fisted clicking around the site and let me complete the transaction. Babelfish was my friend.

In the UK I found you have to use either a Paysafe or Ukash voucher. Both are available from any Paypoint outlet - my local garage sold me a 12gbp Ukash voucher (ended up about 400 rubles after all the fees. You need 300. I had to play safe and go higher). You enter the voucher code into your Webmoney Euro purse first, then transfer to your Ruble purse. I believe you can use Paypal to fund a Webmoney purse in other countries. Edit - I needed to upgrade my Webmoney account by supplying extra ID info before it allowed the fund transfer. Up to 'Formal' WM Passport status.

I'd be glad to help anyone with downloading BS - Can I get an OK from the mods first, please? Cheers!

Hi, First post. Hope this is within the rules... Just bought the download version and got it running OK. I used the Webmoney system and lots of Babelfish. It took two whole days to get it up and running, but one look at the menu tells me it's worth it. I will also buy the DVD when it comes out in the UK. At the moment I am intimidated by the complexity. I damaged one Ka-50 just picking up my joystick! Cheers!
